A lot of people believe that there is some universal plan for their lives, and for the world as a whole. They often use this belief as a way to dismiss their own desires: “What if it’s not part of the universal plan? Can the law of attraction still work for me?”
I used to have this same fear. Growing up, I strongly believed that I was meant to help others. But, as I got older, this fear arose. I feared that perhaps the Universe had some other plan for me. I feared that my own desires didn’t really matter.
And isn’t that really what it all comes down to? We all fear that our desires don’t matter—that our desires won’t be attainable in the end.
How can you reconcile, then, the belief in the law of attraction, with the belief that there is some greater plan for us all?
Did we come here for some particular lesson, and are we allowed to go off course if so? Can our desires be overridden?
