So imagine this scene:
You’re standing in front of the mirror. You take a look at your reflection, and you really don’t like the expression on your face.
So you stand there, waiting for the reflection to smile. You stand there for a minute, two minutes, five minutes… and that reflection just persistently holds on to that same expression. Though perhaps it’s looking more annoyed at this point…
Now you might think this is silly. You’ll say, “Of course I wouldn’t expect my reflection to change, unless I change myself. If I want it to smile, then I’d have to smile first.”
