One thing you have to know about me is that I’m super impatient. I know what I want, and I want it now.
Sometimes this is a good quality, especially with desires with not so much resistance. My will is strong enough that I can usually get smaller desires pretty quickly.
But for larger desires, I realize that impatience actually holds us back.
I see the same thing with clients I work with. They have this big, painful desire, with tons of momentum, and they want the exact steps to get that desire within the next week if possible.
I get it. I think we’d all love to snap our fingers, wave a magic wand and get everything we want. And often that’s sort of how the LOA is marketed, so I understand the appeal.
Yet I think impatience actually makes the process last even longer than it would have otherwise.
All of this is a process. And if you have a big desire, well, the Universe has to create a path for that desire to manifest for you in a way that you can believe.
But, kind of like what I mentioned yesterday, impatience will just keep you stuck on the “wanting” side of the abyss.
You’re impatient, and you spend so much time trying to get what you want, and yet not allowing the process to take its natural course, that it can never quite get off the ground.
And some people spend years like that, wondering why they’ve never gotten their desire. But if they had just let go in the first place, allowed the journey to take as long as it needed to, they likely would have gotten it long ago.
Do you have any desires like that? Desires where you’ve tried for years to achieve them, only to result in disappointment over and over again?
It’s not a pleasant thing to look at, I know. But it’s important to know where we are.
Everyone hates to hear this, but it’s about the journey.
You have to be OK with the desire not being here today. If you can’t do that, well, you can never get the desire.
If you can be OK just for a little while — if you can make peace with the absence of the desire, just for now — then you give it space to manifest.
But if you smother it with desperation and impatience, then it can never get off the ground, no matter how long you wait.
I know that this is probably the most difficult part of the process. It’s extremely counterintuitive: our egos would love nothing more than just to jump in and make things happen. But that’s not how this works.
But, if you want to start doing it the right way — in a way that actually works — then I invite you to join my upcoming masterclass, Creating from Non-Doing.
In this class, you’ll discover how to finally let go of the need for your desire to happen, and effortlessly align with its manifestation.
