Yesterday I received an email from a subscriber who had just read my newest Circle of Darkness newsletter, and told me how different my approach is. She said that most LOA teachers encourage “fake it until you make it” or just lying to yourself and pretending that you already have what you want.
Honestly that hadn’t even crossed my mind when writing this, just because I’ve known how much those approaches don’t work in my own life and those of my clients.
I do not believe you should ever lie to your subconscious mind. Personally I believe that your subconscious mind knows if you lie to it.
I do think there’s a bit of a difference between lying to your subconscious, vs. using a simple affirmation like, “I am earning $X per year” for example. For me this kind of affirmation is just trying to make such a reality more comfortable to my subconscious, but I’m not literally trying to make it believe that this is the case right now.
However even with this kind of affirmation, it will only work if you’ve worked through a lot of your resistance. It absolutely will not work if you are totally convinced that this is impossible or can’t happen to you.
So it’s a bit nuanced. But my recommendation is never, ever, ever to fake it until you make it, or to outright lie to yourself to convince yourself that something is true that obviously isn’t.
My methods are all based on honesty, acceptance, and effortlessness. There’s no force here, or trying to make things happen.
I discuss how to work with your subconscious mind and move beyond wanting into having, in my newest newsletter which just came out Friday. It’s 20 pages, over 8,000 words, and discusses in depth why your desire is actually harmful, and how to move beyond egoic desire to a desire that stems from the core of your very being.

Desires are fine, wants are not. Wants can become desires but even the root of the word “want” means lack which tells you all you need to know, desires come from outside of ourselves they are not about what we lack but about where were are going, what will help fulfill our destiny, our wants can become our desires but for the most part they don’t.
Thank you for your comment. However I disagree. I am a follower of the left-hand path, and I believe that what I want, I have the right to attain. The Universe is here to serve what I want (and what others want, too, obviously). I decide my destiny and no outside force can do so for me.
