This is day 4 of the 7 Day Allowing Challenge.
On the surface of it, it doesn’t seem like we have a lot of power. Sometimes it can seem like life is pushing us this way and that, without our own say in the matter.
When we feel powerless, we tend to try to exert that power in the ways we know how: through action.
The thing is that we are immensely powerful, but we just don’t know where to look to find that power. It’s not through action, or even through trying to visualize or say the right affirmations to make something happen.
Such action is sort of like trying to change a story by ripping out pages in a book. You haven’t really accomplished anything: the story is still the same. You can’t change it by simply acting on its physical manifestation in the world.
No, our power is in our allowing. That might not seem like a lot of power at first—it’s not very flashy, certainly. But nevertheless, this is where our power lies.
It is true, of course, that there is power in our thinking. But you can’t use this knowledge to overwhelm your resistance by visualizing really hard or saying a lot of affirmations.
The true power is in simply allowing all that is, to be, and yet holding an intention while doing so.
At the moment of most surrender, you have the greatest power to plant the seed of an intention.
This has been my goal all week, to simply allow and see what happened. And it’s been rather powerful.
Especially yesterday, everything just seemed to fall into perfect alignment. There was no one thing I could point to as a definitive manifestation, but the day as a whole just came together in such a perfect way, with zero effort on my part.
So today, I encourage you that if you start feeling like you have to try very hard, let that be your warning system that you’re stepping out of your power. Because your power is not in action or effort. That is actually where you are at your weakest. Your power is in your allowing.
I’d love to hear about your progress, so please feel free to comment!
There are only a few more days until the next issue of the Circle of Darkness goes to print. This one will discuss more about how to live a life of perfect allowing. I’d hate for you to miss it, so sign up before April 1 to get your copy. Just click below:
