Often times someone will come to me and say, “What do I have to do to get X?” Where X is more money, a relationship with a specific person, etc.
And I do my absolute best to convince them that what they’re really trying to do is to feel better. When you bring in the motivation to get X, then it really complicates your vibrational work and sabotages your journey.
But inevitably, they’ll say, “OK, I’m doing what you told me, but I still don’t have X and I don’t know if I can have X.” And so we’re right back at square one.
I get it. This was a concept I struggled with for a very long time. I thought that I was doing these techniques and processes in order to get what I want, and I could measure success based on how quickly I got what I wanted.
I want you to read the following very carefully and let it really sink in:
None of this is a formula to get what you want. Your predominant intention needs to be to feel better—not to get something, not to make something happen, but simply because feeling good, well, feels good. Then, the something you want wil just be icing on the cake.
Please read the above a few times over if you’re not quite getting it, or even if you think you are. Because this is the most important thing I could possibly tell you right now.
If you apply effortlessness, for example, as a way to get your relationship, or your money, you’re still operating under the mistaken belief that the relationship or money can actually bring you happiness.
It can’t. It doesn’t have that power. I’ve proven that to myself repeatedly.
You want that relationship, money, or whatever else it is you want, simply because you believe that having this will make you feel better. Again, it won’t.
Feel better first. Then yes, yes, better manifestations will follow. But they’ll be nice surprises, icing on the cake, not something you need to happen.
There’s no shortcut around that.
In fact I’ll go even further and say this: you can’t control the world.
Yes, that’s right, you have zero ability to control the world.
OK, maybe you could with enough will power, but it’d be a temporary solution and you really don’t want to do that. Trust me.
There’s one and only one thing you can control in any moment: the thoughts you choose to think, and therefore the feelings you feel as a result.
And yes, those improved thoughts/feelings will cause different results to come. But you can’t make that person come to you, or that money come to you, or that new job come to you. You can’t do any of that.
But you can change how you feel about it.
I get it if that makes you temporarily angry. You thought all of this was to get the stuff you wanted. You thought if you visualized enough, did enough affirmations, meditated enough, you’d get all your desires.
And true, you can and should want whatever you want.
But you simply can’t directly control the world “out there” to get what you want.
It’ll come, trust me. But you have to make it not all about that.
You have to do it to be happy, and all the rest will naturally follow.
The Tao Te Ching really helps with this whole process. I’m soon creating a course, 81 Days to Effortlessness, to help you to use effortlessness to just feel better. And then, yes, wonderful things will come as a result.
I’m just seeing who’s interested right now. If you express your interest before the official launch of the course, then I’ll give you an early bird discount once you’re able to sign up.
If interested, just enter your email below and I’ll add you to the list.
