I was reading another LOA coach’s blog the other day, and sort of wondering why I no longer felt resonance with her work. I used to follow this coach pretty religiously, but over time just started to go my own way.
That’s not a problem, of course, but it made me wonder what it was about her that I wasn’t resonating with.
Well I soon found out, because in the post I was reading, she started talking about being a lightworker, how she needs to shine her light in the world, how she’s tired of the darkness in the world, and that she feels we’re in a battle between light and dark.
After I got done cringing, I realized something important about myself that I hadn’t quite put into words:
I’m a darkworker.
I suddenly knew this at the core of my being. If she’s a lightworker, then there’s no other word for me but darkworker.
What on earth is a darkworker? Why would I call myself one?
I’m not here to shine my light. I know that there are no problems in the world, no darkness to fight or overcome, no one to be healed or saved.
Of course, there’s darkness. But this darkness is more like the warm embrace of the night, the mystery of the expansive universe, the infinite potentiality of the unmanifest. It’s the chaos of consciousness, the free will by which we choose our paths.
It’s not the monster under the bed (unless it has to be for a while), or the corruption of society. That sort of imagined darkness is illusory, playing out only in the mind of the lightworker.
I am not here to give myself to the world in some grand, heroic display of self-sacrifice or altruism. I’m not even here to help most people, because most people are too mired in the chains that keep them looking at the shadows on the wall that they’re nowhere close to even fathoming a deeper reality. Such people I leave to their own devices.
I’m here to get what I want out of life. And I’ll leave others to do the same, because I believe in the fundamental Law of Thelema, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.” That means I’m under no compunction to make you happy, nor will I try because it’s not my job. I will do exactly and only what I will.
I’m here for joy, for creating, for experiencing everything life has to offer, and I believe—I know—that the Universe will support me in that endeavor because I’m the master of my reality. Demonic forces will bend the fabric of reality to my will, because, in the end, the Universe is here to serve my desires. And yours, too, of course, if you embrace this path.
This is the path of the darkworker. I’m happy to claim that title because there needs to be an alternative to all the talk about lightworkers.
If you’d like to walk this path, too, I think you’d be perfect for my upcoming course, preliminarily called 81 Days to Effortlessness. The path of the darkworker is not about force and opposition, but is instead about intentional effortlessness—working with the Universe and yet allowing it to conform to your desires. It’s a careful balance that can be hard to meet, but in this course, you’ll learn exactly how to do so.
If interested, just reach out and let me know, as the course is not quite launched yet. If you express your interest prior to the official launch of the course when registrations are actually accepted, you’ll get an early bird discount. So, I hope that you’ll join me on this path!
I think we’ve been reading the same post by the same LOA coach. I no longer resonate with the “You’re here to shine your light into the world!” approach either. It feels and sounds more like an obligation than a genuinely joyful thing to do. Moreover, it dismisses the fact that every single one of us is here to do anything and everything we want to do, whether it involves shining our light or embracing our darkness, or something else altogether. I thought this was the core principle of LOA but, I don’t know, somehow it feels like nowadays it’s mainly about being a Lightworker and that you “have to shine your light”.
Hey Gata Negra, thanks so much for your comment!
Yeah I agree, so many people are focusing now on the light, overcoming darkness, etc. They don’t seem to realize that according to the LOA, whatever you push against will just persist and get even stronger. Words like “battle” and “fight” are so resistant, I can’t imagine anyone in the LOA would willingly use them without doing a double take.
There’s room in this world for everyone. Not everyone has to be teachers or healers. I myself am a programmer, and I have a lot of fun doing that. There was a time that I thought this wasn’t “spiritual” enough, but it’s enjoyable, therefore it’s “spiritual” enough for me. ?
Anyway I appreciate your input.
I think I know which LOA coach you are talking about, and I no longer resonate with her either (hence I’m here lol). The thing that bugs me about her teachings in addition to the whole light is good dark is evil BS, is how she invalidates your desires by saying that you can only have the “feeling” of what you want and not the thing. It is misleading to say you can have “anything” with LOA if you can’t have the thing that you want! Then you have to “justify” wanting what you want as if bargaining with the universe if it is “good enough”…
I understand if things like teleportation and levitation are too far out of most people’s reach, but this coach doesn’t even think people should focus on a desire as mundane and common as “money”? I’ve heard her tell someone to not focus on money but instead focus on the things you want money to get you, and then try to convince that they don’t really want money, but only the things that money can buy. I’m sorry, but having the money in your bank account and the ability to buy whatever it is that you want, is just NOT the same as getting those things in other ways (through gifts etc). Similarly, having everything you want in the material world (relationship, money, success etc) is just NOT the same as meditating on a mountain in the middle of nowhere but feeling the same feelings as the person that has what they want!
Hey Luna Sun,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Sorry I missed your comment. But you make some good points.
However it’s worth saying that the way to get what you want is to first focus on the feeling of it. The feeling isn’t supposed to take the place of the thing itself, but to attune yourself to the feeling is to attune yourself to allowing the thing itself to come.
And unfortunately it does have to be without attachment, as attachment will just hold it at bay.
But all of this is just the mechanics of manifestation. But I agree whatever your true desire is, that you should have.
Love is the law, love under will.
Not sure that I understood the purpose of darkworker… perhaps because of my bad Ebglish… I consider myself a darkworker, but seems like not the way described above… hi from Mongolia…
Hi Ogi,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
I see a dark worker as someone who doesn’t feel the need to save the world—to shine their light—but is willing to follow their path no matter what that might look like, whether it helps others or not.
I’d love to hear your definition, though. ☺️
Love is the law, love under will.
Above, if I understood correctly, darkworker are to enjoy everything the life can offer, although I’m not sure what exactly it means…
As I saw lightworkers should bring more light when darkworkers should find light. The privilege of darkworker is that they know what darkness is, as well as can use any source of energy while lightworkers can use only “white” energy…
At the end of the day, I’ve been in a place where words such as right/wrong, good/bad and god/evil does not exist, these are understandings in a few dimensions… However, we need to use them to find, as well as bring light in our (earth) world…
Hi Ogi,
93
I’ll simplify it by asking this:
Why do we need to bring light into our world? Who says that’s a requirement or something that should happen?
I believe that we are all light, just people forgot about it. Or let’s say, we just forgot what we know. And again, light n darkness is one of the understandings that is does not exist in a place that we all came from…
The world doesnt need light, people do… So they could level up to go to the place they belong. Earth is simply a game, you will see it one day… And as a darkworker, I’m one of those to find light in darkest soul… “worker” doent mean you cannot enjoy the rest…
Small correction, world doesnt need light, people do need to remember that they are light…
Hi Ogi,
Problem with that as I see it is that it cuts off half the Universe. It says only light exists, and darkness doesn’t. This sort of light-centric view in my view is the hallmark of light workers.
Both light and dark exist and are valuable. So many people serve only the light, but that cuts off half of who they are. Light cannot exist without darkness. Therefore the dark worker serves also the dark—not exclusively, but in addition to, the light.
We are not light. In fact who we are is beyond both light and dark, but if we pay attention to only half the equation, then we cannot truly ascend.
Yes you are correct, we are beyond black and white at some point. However, farther the light, longer the shadow… and the intersection is a humanbeing hhhhh. So complicated to express myself in foreign language…
After year n half talking to prople with different beliefs, shamans, mediators, different religions and my own journey to different dimensions through astral projection, I ended up in one conclusion: be true to yiurself, dont hurt anyone, do your best. Enjoy the moment, catch the moment, dont live in the past or in future as we always do…
Wish you the best!!!
The term darkworker just clicked with me [like it did for you] a few minutes ago and I was trying to find out why….how would other people describe it….and I loved your post. “But this darkness is more like the warm embrace of the night,”…OMG how I resonate with that! <3 I would have so much that I want to share, but I am kind of lazy to write all that down [it was a long day] :)))) anyway, glad to have seen your post and would love to keep in touch 🙂
