I’ve said before that I’ve always felt like I have a purpose. For a long time I doubted in that purpose, but eventually, I came to believe in it again.
But I have learned something about purpose over the years:
It can’t be forced.
You can’t force it onto others. You can’t make people pay attention to what you have to offer.
Because if you have to force them to pay attention to you, they really aren’t the ones who will be attracted to your purpose.
Those who will be on your path will be tripping over themselves to help you.
You will barely have to convince them.
When you’re really plugged into your purpose, all the components you need to fulfill it will align for you.
Maybe not all at once, but you won’t have to struggle to make it happen.
If right now it feels like you are struggling, then stop!
Effort is not the path to fulfilling your purpose.
In fact, the harder you try, the more obstacles will be on your path.
That’s not to say that it won’t sometimes take hard work, but that hard work will feel enjoyable and easy to you.
If you don’t even know what your purpose is yet, that, too, is OK.
Putting in a lot of effort to figure it out won’t help you, either. This will only block you.
Your purpose will naturally be magnetized to you when you simply let go of the effort you’ve been putting in to figure it out.
However, don’t hold expectations of what your purpose will look like, or how you will get there.
I know for myself, I was quite surprised about what my path would look like. It wasn’t what I thought I’d initially choose, but in the end, I realized it was actually what was the best for me.
Not “the best” as in for the greatest good, but “the best” as in what I would enjoy the most.
Let go of all expectation, and the best path to your highest purpose will reveal itself in time.
This is what I call the path of willful effortlessness, and my first issue of the Circle of Darkness Newsletter will be all about this topic.
Willful effortlessness is indeed how I’ve gotten most things in my life. I’ll tell you about how this technique works, and how I’ve used it to massively improve my own circumstances, including to discover my purpose, and the path to that purpose as well.
