Yesterday I came across a thread on a forum I frequent where someone was claiming that he was enlightened now.
How did he know this?
Because his friend had just died, and he felt nothing. And his lack of emotion was proof of his enlightenment.
Sadly this is an all too common myth perpetuated on the right-hand path. To be spiritual, or enlightened, you need to react to nothing. Your best friend dying should elicit no emotional reaction whatsoever. They call this having “peace”, but is it really?
Actually not all of them are like this. One of my favorite RHP teachers, Jeff Foster, regularly talks about allowing your emotions to just be, no matter what they are. But this isn’t the common view by far.
Your negative emotions are not unspiritual. You aren’t enlightened if you have no negative emotions—probably just repressed or apathetic.
I’m happy to admit that I react emotionally to a number of things. I have no shame in that, because that’s a natural human response.
The “spiritual” thing, if anything, is to face all of your emotions with acceptance and validation. OK, you feel sad: that’s perfectly fine. OK, you feel anger: that, too, is perfect. OK, you feel fear: that is perfectly valid.
Black magick becomes most powerful when you can admit your emotions to yourself, and then harness the power they contain to perform your magick. You are not denying any part of yourself, but actually using its innate power to your own benefit.
This is true power. This is true magick. This is true spirituality.
Today’s the day: I am accepting sign-ups for the Circle of Darkness newsletter. If you sign up within the next week, by February 8, you’ll get 40% off the life of your subscription!
If you’re tired of the misconceptions of the RHP and want to encounter true magick, then I invite you to sign up now. After February 8 the price goes back up.
