People often ask me how long each day they should be releasing. However, the question itself speaks to a basic misunderstanding of how all of this works.
There is one vital thing you need to know about this whole process: if you aren’t releasing, you are suppressing.
Imagine a river. You have two choices regarding that river: to allow it to flow, or to build a dam that blocks the flow of the river.
But with your own energy, blocking the flow is never positive. Blocking the flow, or suppression as I mentioned above, is the default way many people deal with uncomfortable or unpleasant emotions, but it just causes it to take root in your subconscious mind, and create more like itself in outer reality.
If instead the energy is allowed to flow, then it is gone as quickly as it came, and is unable to take root.
The nature of energy is to flow. It’s only our own resistance to that energy that blocks that flow.
The more you simply allow your energy to flow, the happier and more peaceful you will be, without even trying.
So asking how long each day you should release is like asking how long that river should be allowed to flow. The answer is: always.
Now you may not be consciously releasing 24/7, obviously, as we all have lives. But, you always have a choice to observe your own inner state and see whether your energy is flowing or being suppressed.
I recommend about 30-60 minutes of conscious releasing—on the day itself, on goals, and any other issues that come up—and then the rest of the time, just an awareness of whether you’re allowing the flow or not. I find this to be the best balance.
