What pictures are you holding in mind?
Every day, millions of thoughts pass through your mind.
And as we know, your mind is creative. It projects out into the world, whatever you hold most of the time.
So what are you holding?
The thing is, the picture you hold in mind is your choice. No one tells you to hold a picture of lack.
So what if you decided, just for today, even just for the next few minutes, to hold a picture of having your goal?
Now I know the most common objection is, “But what if I don’t get it?”
But you’ve essentially set up a catch-22. You can’t hold the picture of what you want, until outer reality shows you that picture first. But outer reality won’t show you that picture, until and unless you decide to hold it within.
What feels better, the picture of lack, or the picture of having?
Obviously the picture of having feels better.
So, can you give yourself permission to hold in mind that which feels better to you, right now?
Now of course I’m not saying to ignore your negative thoughts. As I said in yesterday’s blog post, you must say “yes” to your negative thoughts and feelings, instead of resisting them.
But once you have let up the pressure on those negative thoughts a bit, then deliberately hold in mind the positive picture of what you want to create.
Not in a desperate, needy way, as though you’re using it to push away all the negative thoughts. This is only a solution once you have dealt with the resistance.
But, hold it in mind comfortably and effortlessly, without grasping or clinging.
If you do that, then it will manifest very quickly.
Throughout your day, ask yourself what picture you are holding in mind.
If it is the picture of what you do not want, then (1) say “yes” to those thoughts, instead of pushing against them, and then (2) once they have quieted down a bit, deliberately hold the picture of what you’d rather create.
It’s really that simple. It just takes courage to face your own resistance, and to take control of your own mind.
