I’ve had the intention lately of learning how to manifest big desires. I don’t just mean what I’ve previously called next level goals, which are goals that are relatively within your realm of belief, but I mean truly big goals that would seem nearly impossible to you now.
And as always happens, as I explore this new, uncharted territory for me, the Universe has shown me much more about how it all fits together.
And so what I’ve seen is that there are two general ways to use the law of attraction: what we could call the path of ego, and the path of spirit.
The path of ego is forceful. It advocates pushing to get ahead. Those who follow this path experience intense pressure to succeed.
The path of spirit, on the other hand, follows the Taoist principle of wu-wei (non-doing). Those on this path believe that nothing truly good or useful comes from using force to get ahead.
Which path you choose is your choice, but in this post, I’ll describe both paths, and why I believe the path of spirit is far better in the long-run.
Note: This is a long post. But, I would strongly encourage you to read the whole thing, as I believe it’ll totally transform your view of the law of attraction.
The Path of Ego
The way that most people try to practice the law of attraction is by focusing as much as possible on positive thoughts and feelings. It is said that the more you focus on the positive, the more you will get the positive.
And so when resistance comes up, or doubts, or fears, the common advice is to distract oneself. Try to feel good about anything in general, even by watching cat videos, and you’ll have refocused your attention on the positive.
Now the topic of “feeling good” is another post entirely, but suffice it to say that this advice is way over-simplistic, and has gotten many, many people into worse situations by trying to follow that advice.
But, what we’re interested in here is the strategy of ignoring resistance and just focusing on the positive.
Why do people on this path want to ignore the negative thoughts as much as possible?
It’s because they are afraid that if they focus on the negative thoughts, then negative manifestations will result, and they won’t get their desire.
So they do their best to only allow those positive thoughts to pass through.
But what do you think happens to their overall vibration when they are avoiding such negative thoughts?
By fearing not getting the desire, they are holding in mind not getting the desire, even if in a subtle, subconscious way, and therefore they often don’t get it.
I’m not saying that this path never works. It obviously does, or no one would be saying that they got results.
But, it only works for certain types of desires.
Specifically, the bigger the desire, the less likely this strategy will work.
First let’s take desires that have nearly no attachment at all. You want to find a parking space, or you want to manifest $20. There’s no real attachment, because it doesn’t matter so much to you if it doesn’t happen.
Nearly everyone can effortlessly manifest these sorts of things, because there are really no negative thoughts to avoid.
Now let’s take something a bit larger. Let’s say you want to get a new job. You know you can, eventually, but you want to get it soon, and at a place you would enjoy working.
Now, the stakes are higher with this type of desire. Failure would represent more in this situation, and there is more of an attachment to it working out.
With this type of desire, the success rate goes down significantly. I’d hazard a guess that roughly 30-40% of deliberate manifestors can manifest such a thing. This is a totally unscientific guess, just based on my own observation.
Those who succeed have a particular ability to keep their mind focused on the positive. They regularly use affirmations and visualizations to keep their mind focused where they want it to be. Perhaps they often have doubts, but they don’t get paralyzed by them.
Now let’s take a truly large goal, such as making a million dollars, or taking your business to 6 figures.
I’d guess that only about 2% of deliberate manifestors can manifest such a large goal. I’ve seen it happen, but it’s rare enough that such stories act as inspiration for the majority of others who have never manifested such a thing.
It’s very rare that someone on the path of ego can manifest this type of goal. If you tried, you’d be so overcome by doubts and insecurities that you’d never get there.
Why the Path of Ego Doesn’t Work
So again, the bigger the goal, the more the success rate decreases.
But what is the reason behind such failure?
I already said above that when trying to escape negative thoughts, you often just hold the lack of your desire in mind, and so you don’t manifest it.
But what’s the underlying reason behind this, that causes most followers of this path to fail at any significant manifestation?
First, I’ll tell you that I followed this path for quite a while. Well, more accurately, I think I followed a sort of mix of this path, and the path of spirit. But, my ego was definitely involved.
Once I started having regular success with the law of attraction sometime in mid-2016, my ego wanted to go full steam ahead and manifest everything I had wanted to.
I manifested greater wealth, plus some other nice experiences.
And I was 100% engaged in those desires. Often I had doubts, but my persistence was the deciding factor.
But as I said in the introduction to this post, recently I’ve been looking to take it way further than ever before.
I realized that one cannot have massive success by taking linear steps.
But I also realized that as I reached for these much larger goals, that the ego would get in the way. It could somewhat believe the more manageable goals I had achieved before, but these bigger ones were just too much.
It started when I took the Become Limitless course from MindValley. Vishen Lakhiani, the teacher of that course, emphasized that to reach truly large goals, you had to have two things:
- Happiness in the now
- A vision for the future
I realized that I had tons of vision for the future. But, I didn’t have so much happiness in the now. I was working a job that I disliked, and I was just focused on how to achieve that next step.
So I started seeking for ways to be happy now. I started with meditation, which definitely helped, but I still had that ego desire that wouldn’t let up, and which was robbing me of present happiness.
And so it was around this time I realized the limitation of the path of ego: it’s almost entirely based on lack.
The ego believes that we are lacking something, and this is why we desire the things we desire.
We believe that if we get that money, or have that relationship, or get hired for that job, we will be happy.
So happiness is pushed off to the future.
And every time we get one of those goals, we still don’t allow ourselves to be happy, because there’s something more we want.
And so we get on this treadmill of seeking, and seeking, and seeking… but never finding.
To be sure, it is possible to be hugely successful on the path of ego. But from all the stories I’ve read from those who did exactly that, it only leads to greater and greater unhappiness.
Those on the path of ego are always running from the negative, and so they allow the negative to control their lives from the background. And then they wonder why they aren’t having the success they so crave.
It’s exactly because they crave it. They lack it, and need the Universe to give it to them. But of course it never will—or if it does, only wrapped in a package of suffering.
Discovering the Path of Spirit
About 3 years ago, before even dreaming of starting Co-Creation Coaching, I had a massive spiritual awakening.
For the next 9 months or so, there was simply no “I”. I can still get to that place at will, and honestly, I believe it is the reason for the success I have had.
But I realized something much later. For those roughly 9 months or so, we had more money than we knew what to do with.
Okay, so at that time, it was largely coming through Christine, who was working full time. But I’m the one that manages all of our combined income, so it was my manifestation, too.
I remember thinking at that time, “There’s so much money here I don’t know what to do with it all.”
And funnily enough, it was less than what we’re making now, so that’s an odd thought. 😛
But the point is, that abundance was effortless. Christine enjoyed the work she was doing, and money was just coming in, perhaps for the first time ever for us.
And also for the first time, I just didn’t care. Remember I was in a place of total non-attachment, so the money could come, or it could go, and it just didn’t matter.
And Christine has never really cared about money, so she wasn’t blocking it, either.
Now here’s the funny part (trust me, not at the time though): after a while, I started caring about the money. And, within a few weeks, Christine lost her job, because the agency she was working for had shut down.
So then, for about 2 months, until SSI could kick back in, we had to live on our savings. Suddenly, I knew exactly what to do with that money: it all got used up on living expenses.
After that, I was always searching for ways of getting back to that previous level of abundance. But, it would take me another year and a half to manage it.
But what I got out of that experience was that when I was totally detached from the goal, it flooded into my life literally effortlessly.
Later, I learned how to achieve relative abundance while being attached, but then I realized that this method is limited. I could only go so far on this path.
As I called out to the Universe to show me a way to achieve truly great success, in a way that wouldn’t take forever, I was shown this truth: That which you lack, you cannot be given. That which you have already, will flow abundantly.
Back to Square One
The course that got me started on all this, which I still use to this day, was Hypnosis and the Law of Attraction by Joe Tabbanella. In fact, I still stay in contact with Joe regularly, and I’ve referred several people to this course.
Anyway, I revisited that course recently, as I do every so often. And I realized that there was part of his teaching which I was totally ignoring.
Specifically, he says that you have to get to the point of just not caring either way, because you have the goal internally.
Okay, so I knew he taught that, but back in 2015 when I took his course, that was the last thing I wanted to hear. And in 2016, when I took it again, it was still the last thing I wanted to hear.
So hey, I found a way around it, sort of. I wasn’t willing to drop my desires, so I manifested a good deal of success while circumventing that particular teaching.
Everything else I’ve followed to the letter, except that one bit of advice.
Except, now I realize it was actually the most important piece of advice that he gave in the entire course.
Get to the point where you have the desire internally, so that you just don’t care if you have it externally or not. And then, you’ll have it.
That’s exactly what I inadvertently put into practice three years ago when I had that effortless abundance.
And the thing is, as I study more LOA teachers that I actually trust, who actually know what they’re talking about, I see the same themes.
See, I’ve been going on a bit of a course binge lately. Prior to about a year ago, I couldn’t afford many of the courses I wanted to take, so I could only extend my knowledge through books, and personal experience. Most books on the law of attraction are frankly useless, so it was down to personal experience.
But if you look in the right place, there are several teachers who really know what they’re talking about. Joe’s one of them. David Snyder is another. And the third, which I’ll mention more below, is Lester Levenson, along with Larry Crane.
Anyway, here are the major themes I found in common between all good teachers of the LOA:
- You must let go of anything that conflicts with the vision of what you want. That means, diving into the resistance and letting it go entirely.
- You must get to the point where you don’t need the desire, but you have it already.
- You must take on the consciousness of the goal, so that you become that vision so entirely that you no longer lack it.
So, these teachers say to (1) fearlessly face your resistance and release it entirely, (2) drop all needing or attachment to the vision, so you don’t even care if you get it externally, and (3) take on the consciousness of that vision so entirely that you can no longer say you lack it.
I’ve always done point #1, and even often point #3. But for two years, I’ve been terrified of point #2.
However, it’s that point that really takes things to the next level, and literally makes anything possible.
And, when that is in place, then you can also have happiness in the now. Your goals won’t rob you of experiencing happiness in this very moment.
How to Follow the Path of Spirit
So why is this called the path of spirit?
Instead of answering that directly, I’d like to show you experientially.
But first, let me ask you a simple question: Why do you want what you want, beneath the ego-level concerns?
Because once you drop those ego desires, or the belief that you lack anything now, what you’re left with is, well, simple intention from the level of your soul.
The soul can’t really desire, as we know ego desire to be. It more simply decides, or intends. But it never lacks anything.
I can show you that experience right now. If you try this exercise, it can be extremely transformative, so please take the time to try it out for yourself.
Either read the instructions below, or you can enter your email below to receive a free recording of me guiding you through the exercise.
[mbr_form form_id=”31″]
Please bring your desire to mind. Just for illustration purposes, let’s
say that you want a new job.
Why do you want that job? Perhaps you want the better pay, the enjoyable work environment, and even just the knowledge that you have a great job.
And none of those are bad things, obviously. But by wanting that, your ego believes that you lack those things now, or the deeper desires that they fulfill.
All desires come from three basic wants: the want of approval, the want of control, and the want of safety or security.
Having the greater pay might give you a greater sense of security. Having the enjoyable work environment might give you a greater sense of control. And that sense of having a great job would give you approval, both from yourself, and from others.
But all of those wants are things that you can have now.
So let’s say you drop those wants. This job can no longer provide that, because you already have approval, control, and safety.
So now why do you want it?
Before moving on, here are the steps so you can try it out yourself:
- Bring your desire to mind.
- Ask yourself, “Why do I want this goal?”
- Whatever thought or feeling comes up first, determine whether it comes from wanting approval, wanting control, or wanting to be safe.
- Just allow yourself to let go of the “wanting” until you feel you have approval, control, or safety with no lack feeling.
- Ask yourself again, “Why do I want this goal?”
- Repeat steps 3-5 until nothing else comes up.
For step 6 above, even if you get a feeling, like excitement or happiness, still repeat steps 3-5 until nothing more comes up.
So now, why do you want your goal?
When I do this exercise, there are no thoughts to answer. There aren’t even any feelings, because I released all of those.
There’s just a soul-level knowingness—a choice to have this goal for no other reason than just to have it.
But that knowingness is not lack. You’ll be happy if you get it, and you’ll be happy if you don’t. But, you still choose to have it.
This is why I call this the path of spirit. Your desire transcends ego, and becomes a soul-level intention.
To follow the path of spirit, then, you simply need to remove any ego-level lack or neediness, until you’re simply left with the pure knowingness of spirit.
Notice that we’re not running away from resistance, or trying to distract ourselves with funny cat videos.
If you ignore the egoic lack, it still exists, just under the surface, where it is still doing damage and holding away your goal.
So we dive in, bringing up every possible feeling of lack and want that we can find, and letting it all go, until all that’s left is the vast ocean of Beingness.
You won’t get it all in one day. You may not even get it all in a week.
But if you do this daily, you will little-by-little release everything that is holding you from your goal. And when that is done, your goal will simply fall into your lap, often suddenly and unexpectedly.
The Importance of Letting Go
I wrote a good bit on the Release Technique last year, which is the same technique the above exercise is based on.
The Release Technique was founded by Lester Levenson, whose story is quite inspirational and I recommend going to read about it. You can read more info here, or get the book, No Attachments, No Aversions by Lester Levenson.
However, at the time, I didn’t experience much progress. I think it was largely because, again, I really didn’t want to drop my desire entirely, so I tried to hold on to that while doing the process, which really doesn’t work.
So look, I’ll say this: it took me two years to realize the importance of dropping all need for the desire. That refusal to drop the attachment resulted in a lot of struggle, which I wouldn’t recommend duplicating. 🙂
It’s not that you can’t have the desire. It’s that the desire has to be coming from the right place: your soul. If it is coming from your ego, then you are stuck. Even if you get it, you won’t be any happier, and you’ll want something more, because you still have the feeling of lacking the very same things as before.
So get rid of the lack, then have the desire.
As I said above, Joe Tabbanella gave the same advice, all of two years ago when I first took his course, but I didn’t want to listen to that, either.
But for him, it was that state of not caring that got him his very first manifestation at the age of 19, and every manifestation from then on once he figured out what he had done to get those results.
But see, I used to think that if I dropped my need for the desire, I wouldn’t get it.
But I recently heard Larry Crane (the person who teaches the Release Technique now), on a call talking to someone who was working on releasing a money issue.
The caller said that they felt totally released about the money.
And so Larry asked, “So is it in your pocket?” And the caller said no.
And so Larry said, “So you’re not released on it. If you were, it’d be in your pocket.”
So it’s not something where if you let go, the Universe will give it to you if it feels like it. No, if you totally let go, you’ll have it, or something better. That’s a guarantee.
Remember, I’m all about results. I’ve said before, and I’ll say again, you’re here to get results, and so I’ll help you get results.
But to get those results, you have to totally drop the egoic desire for them, until you’re just left with the soul knowing.
To get the results, you have to totally be okay as you are right now, without those results. Then, they will fall into your lap, easily and effortlessly.
Within two days of just starting to apply this technique, I made over $1,200. It was quite literally effortless.
You can have the same effortless results, if you let go and choose to be free, now.
If you want help with that, I invite you to schedule a free 20-minute strategy session with me, and I’ll be happy to help you clear the blocks to your biggest goals in life.

brandon, very detailed post which clarified many things for me! thank u very much!
Hey @Marina, thanks so much for your comment. 🙂 I’m glad my post clarified things for you.
This is awesome…I think that I partially did this for my income recently. I thought that I had just let it go but I definitely remember thinking along the lines of “Stuff it! Just do it; you’ve survived on the smell of an oily rag for the last 3 years and can do that at least another year!” I’m learning something I have never done before and was feeling stuck in my inability to make it perfect. Suddenly one day just thought the above and thought “just go ahead and fix it as you go.” It has been more successful than I had ever hoped.
Your blog has consolidated and clarified what I think happened so it is wonderful to understand what that might have been in order to repeat at will. The audio is just the icing on the cake. Sometimes I don’t remember all the steps of a new concept if I am sitting quietly trying it out. I usually do that during meditation and have my eyes closed.
Hi @Peekay, I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. And it certainly sounds like that’s what you’ve done with your recent experience, so good job on that!
It’s always been hard for me to let go. I’m very willful and stubborn, lol. Which is why I’ve been resisting this concept for two years, but only recently discovering the power of letting go. Of course I’ve always talked about letting go, but never so completely as to totally drop the attachment. I can confirm it feels so much more freeing when you’ve done so. Present happiness shouldn’t be sacrificed for future striving: it’s just not worth it.
I’m also happy you liked the meditation recording. I’ve been wanting to do something like that for a while, because I really enjoy it. So perhaps I’ll do more like that in the future. 🙂 I have a small library of royalty free music I purchased some years back, which is perfect for this kind of thing.

Hi Brandon. I am unable to understand some parts of the post and would appreciate your response.
I am trying to manifest a specific person. Im not sure whether its a next level goal or an ultimate one.
Applying your technique the relationship goal doesnt fit into any of the 3 wants that are mentioned.
and even if I were to release a want, how to release. You said , We already have the approval, control, safety, but we dont. Inside? How? I don’t have it.
please clarify
thanks

Hey Brandon,
I have a query. I have been following your posts for almost a year now. Does this post imply that structural tension towards a goal is not desirable as you suggest embodying the goal completely? I’m a little confused. Please help. Also do I consider ARC2 and ARC3 to be obsolete to some extent? I thought I would clarify..
Hi @Shibani,
Actually, Joe Tabbanella’s course is where I first heard about structural tension, and that’s how I discovered Robert Fritz. The way Joe describes tension is that as you hold the positive vision in mind, your subconscious mind and body have the tension of needing to express that vision. But no, it’s not superseded at all, just the understanding slightly updated.
So, imagine that as you internalize the vision, all the stuff in contradiction to that vision comes up. And you release that resistance and internalize the vision even more. This is actively dealing with the tension and allowing it to pull you to the goal. It’s just that you don’t really have attachment to the goal itself, but use it as an anchor to move you in the world. At least that’s how I see it.
ARC3 is certainly not obsolete. But actually, I will be updating the recordings soon anyway. Not because of these ideas, but because I feel they could have some more clarity and structure. So within the next month or so, the recordings for ARC3 will be re-released, and of course you will still have access to those. I’ll also be sure to include these updated ideas in the new recordings.
As for ARC2, I don’t quite remember everything I mentioned in that class, but from what I remember, I don’t think it’s obsolete.
Really the only difference from what I’ve been realizing lately, to what I did before, is the idea that we must drop the attachment to our goal. That’s been permeating my posts lately anyway, with my talk of wu-wei and so on. So it’s definitely been a theme. But everything else, like the zero state, how to focus on the possibility of the vision, being mindful of the resistance as it arises, is all just as true.
I hope that clarifies things for you.
This is so awesome! I too were focusing on goals, while not having present happiness, until recently. Now I’ve been cultivating present happiness, meditating more, and slowing down with everything. This blog post perfectly rounded everything up for me, and inspired me even more to strive for more in my life: to enrich it more in the present, and to just choose the challenges for the future, simply because it’s a beautiful expression of my soul, nothing more. Thank you for your teachings, Brandon, they have helped me immensely over the last year. 🙂 You are to the point, always refining your teachings, and a great inspiration to me.
P.S. I would just suggest that you “fix” your use of the word “ignore”. Until your recent blog posts, you were using the word “ignore” with a meaning of “be mindful of, and detach, allow”. But in the latest posts you have been using the word “ignore” with a meaning of “push away, run away from, block”. I think it can confuse people if you use the same word for 2 very different things. Other than that, everything is very clear and easy to understand.
I also think how very cool it is that now you can afford various classes, and that it has been helping you develop your understanding and teachings further and further. Likewise, I’ve been enjoying your free teachings for quite a while, and also am looking forward to when I will have money to buy classes or coaching sessions from you in the future. I adore the idea of investing resources into our goals and self-development.
Hey @Z,
Thanks for your comment. I’m so glad that the post has helped and clarified things for you. It’s certainly been a journey for me to get to this point.
Regarding the word ignore, I was trying to use it in the context that most LOA practitioners use it when they say to ignore the negative thoughts. I don’t recall in past posts when I’ve said to ignore means to let the resistance go, though I think that would have been unclear on my part. Except that you should ignore what the thought or feeling is saying, but still give it room to be.
I will be sure to be clearer about that in the future.
And thanks, I’ve been enjoying the courses. 🙂
So when we think about our goals, there shouldn’t be a feeling of excitement or happiness? In other words, those 2 can actually block the goal from being realized? I ask because I remember that you mentioned before how ramping up the emotion can speed up a manifestation (as long as it’s balanced well with the resistance), because the emotion is the fuel for manifestations. Without the emotions, our subconscious can’t tell that something is important, right? I hope you can clarify this. xD
Hi @Z,
Actually if you recall, I’ve said many times before that intense emotions can actually block manifestation. The best emotion is simply a soft kind of contentment or peace. For myself, I find manifestations work best when the emotion doesn’t exceed a 2 or 3 out of 10. With more letting go, the feeling just deepens, but does not become more intense. Intense emotions are usually a sign of egoic emotion from attachment, not spiritual “emotion”, if you can even call it that.
So try the exercise for yourself: what do you experience when you let go of even that excitement or happiness?
We should never get attached to even good feelings. We can always go deeper, until we have entered the abiding peace at our core.
So think of it like this: if you experience excitement, that means your ego still believes that you will get something out of that experience that you don’t have now. It is an extremely subtle kind of resistance.
For me, when I dropped everything, I just felt knowingness, though it’s very hard to describe.
Brandon, thank you so much for the clarification! I get it! It’s kind of when, as a child, I would get excited about something that I was told I would get, but then when I learned I wouldn’t get it after all, I would feel bad and disappointed. That’s the excitement that needs to be released, so the absence of the goal doesn’t hurt at all.
I just reread this blog post, and I can’t express enough how many insights it has given me again. One of the goals I have right now doesn’t seem hard, and I haven’t felt much resistance in regards to it. However when last night I started checking it against the 3 wants, I found several pieces of resistance, and one of them was so big and painful. I never imagined that such an “easy” goal, that seemed so carefree, had so much fear and grief in it. It took me a while, but I managed to get to the point where even if the worst case scenario happened, I still felt peace.
Today, as I was rereading this blog post, I went through the wants again, and I found new pieces of resistance. I released those too, and now the goal simply feels like an extension of my soul. No excitement there, just peace.
I remember when I had my big goal in February to pass the exams. Up to actually taking the exams, I was convinced that I felt good about it, and that I would pass them. However only after failing them, did all the resistant stuff come up. All 3 wants had been in there, but I was never aware of them, until the point where I actually failed the exams. In other words, “the stakes were high”. So I definitely love the idea that we not just release the resistance that comes up spontaneously, but that we actually also actively check our goals against the wants and other egoistic things, and get to the point where it doesn’t really matter if the goal happens in the physical world or not.
A few days ago I finally got Palo Santo, and used it to cleanse my room. It seems that it has definitely helped me, since I’ve been noticing a lot of improvement and growth within myself, including the Universe dropping certain useful things in my lap. Life definitely feels like fun now. Playing with energy, enjoying the present, being happy now, and having the vision for the future. It’s great.
Hey @Z, yes exactly right! Resistance can be subtle sometimes, but congratulations on discovering more of it and letting it go. 🙂
That’s why I get really suspicious when someone says they are feeling great about their goal. Intense emotion can hide a lot of resistance, as I’ve said, and experienced with my clients. Get down to that place of peace, and you’re exactly where you need to be. 😀
Very happy for you that things are working out.

How does one release the wants and the attachment ? I don’t understand how
This is so awesome!
Hi, Brandon! Very interesting post! Could you possibly clarify how this fits in with your teaching that we do, and should, still want our desire to manifest? I remember your making the distinction between your teaching and many others out there, that it’s NOT just about feeling good and not caring about actually having the goal. And I agree 100%. Of course, we want our goals/desires to manifest. If you could tie this together, I would appreciate it! Thank you so much!
Hi @Cheryl,
Thanks for your comment. 🙂
First I want to say that my teachings are constantly updating, as is my understanding of the LOA.
But here’s what I can say:
Firstly, it’s not about feeling good at all. That’s a common trap many people get into, making feeling good more important than anything else. But feeling good can cover over a lot of subconscious programs keeping you stuck. If you’re feeding your mind positive affirmations all day, you’re just ignoring your subconscious mind’s protests of your goal, not truly releasing the resistance.
Secondly, you should absolutely be persistent with your goal. Your goal acts as a sort of focusing mechanism to release a portion of resistance related to that goal. For instance, a financial goal causes you to release resistance about money. So, persist in working on the goal until it is achieved.
The only thing I would change is the “want”. You must let go of the want, while still pursuing the goal. The “want” comes from ego, and will hold the goal away from you. You must internalize the goal to such an extent, that you feel you have it now.
So be persistent, yes, but do not need it to happen. If you feel that wanting, discover where it comes from, possibly using the exercise I offered in this post, and release that. Get to the point where you can simply decide to have your Goal, effortlessly.

Hi Brandon, I think you have clarified something for me. In the past there were things I really wanted and eventually let go but never received. I wondered why certain things never happened but I think I had not really let go I was just ignoring and not thinking of them anymore.
Hi @Rose, yes that makes sense. You have to completely let go, and actually still keep focusing at the same time, ideally. Some people can let go completely and it just happens, without anymore focusing, but your best chances are if you keep focusing on the goal regularly, even after letting go. 🙂
I just love this new upgrade of yours to the teachings! 😀 The goal that had seemed “carefree” and easy on the surface, that I released on, 2 nights ago, and yesterday morning, has shown me what you mean. I can honestly feel now like I don’t care at all if I get it or not. Either way I feel happiness (or contentment) and peace. Before the release, thinking about getting the goal made me feel somewhat excited, I was really looking forward to it. Although I didn’t really feel any resistance when I thought about not getting it. Probably because I hadn’t really dived into the wants and lack, at that time.
Now when I think about getting that goal, I kind of feel like it’s not a big deal, and it doesn’t really matter, because there are many other ways in this world that already provide me with satisfaction and happiness. Then at this point, when I ask myself why do I still want it, I still feel like I don’t really care if it happens or not, but it would be cool if it happened, because it’s just fun. Why not play, while on this planet? So yeah, I’ll keep focusing on the goal, even though I don’t feel the urge to keep focusing on it. It just seems like it would be cool to go on with it.
Hi @Z,
That’s truly amazing! Now go and get the goal 😀 That’s the last step.
Lester Levenson would apparently ask those who had bliss and peace whether they had achieved all of their worldly goals. If they said no, he’d say to still keep releasing, because they weren’t there yet.
And he’d ask those who had the worldly goals, whether they had peace and contentment. If they said no, he’d tell them to still keep releasing, because they weren’t there yet.
I love how it all comes together. Spiritual and material are really one and the same. 🙂
Yes, that’s right! Last night I received a ton of insights. There are 2 goals, goal A, and goal B. I am not working on any of these goals right now, but I’ve been considering them. Last night I felt that the goal B would be okay, but I felt my soul pulling me to the goal A, because that goal just felt like love, freedom, as the nature of my soul. Not from a place of lack, but really as something that’s a natural expression of my soul. That goal is way scarier than the goal B, but I felt the call of my soul.
However right now I woke up, and immediately when I thought about these 2 goals, I felt like getting the goal A wouldn’t really bring me any physical manifestations, so it didn’t feel really appealing, while goal B would get me many cool things on the outside. And this was a perfect insight from the Universe for me. When I’m not connected to my soul enough, I can mostly perceive goals in terms of what I get on the outside. However when I am deeply connected to my soul, I am not considering what I can get on the outside, instead I can feel where my soul is pulling me, and can feel the beauty of that potential transformation. It doesn’t matter what I get or not on the outside, it matters that I become a truer expression of who I really am, that deep love, peace and freedom. The goal is to become the one with this internal identity, so I can feel more love and peace, that I already am. So I can shine as who I really am, without stupid fears and worries. Goal A brings me much closer to being able to express who I really am, in this physical world, than goal B. Even though goal A won’t really get me any physical manifestation, while goal B will.
And this ties in perfectly with what you’ve written and talked about lately. If we have a goal, then we release all the ego wants and aversions regarding it. And after that we become the goal, and simply can choose to extend that being of the goal in the physical, because why not, it’s fun. Pursuing goals from that viewpoint is the real deal.
Also, I love that about Lester Levenson, that you wrote above. It definitely makes sense, and is an amazing perspective on life to consider for everyone. 🙂
Hey @Z,
That’s awesome! 😀
But I’d say you might have more to release about goal B, if you are thinking about the cool things you can get when you get that goal. It sounds like some subtle attachments there.
It sounds like you’re doing a great job, though!

Hey Brandon, can you pls do a post on Resistance??
@Shibani, actually my next post, today or tomorrow, was going to be about how acceptance can melt away your resistance. Will that work? 🙂 Or did you have something more specific?

Hi Brandon,
Thank you for your writing these amazing posts. My question is that I find myself believeing that I have let go and I expect my goal to happen but this will only last for like two weeks before I start wondering if I’ll get my desire. Basically, it’s an on going cycle for the past year and I would love to hear your advice in regards to changing this way of thinking? Thank you!
Hi @Cece,
It sounds to me like you’re not quite all the way let go. Do you test it? For instance, ask yourself how you would feel if you never got this desire. Ask yourself how you’d feel if you got it tomorrow.
And how often are you focusing? Even while you feel let go, still keep working on it every day. There is likely repressed resistance that you are trying to run away from.
Thanks Brandon. To answer questions, I would not be happy if I never got this desire but I don’t need it right now. It would be nice to have it now but I don’t need it this very minute. I hope that makes sense.
I do think about it quite often but how does one not to think about what they want? This is something I struggle with.
Thank you for your help!
Hi @Cece,
Yes, get to the place where you would be okay whether you got it or didn’t get it, but still choose to have it. You’re not all the way let go yet. You still have an attachment to the desire.
So let go of the need of it. Get to the point of being okay if it doesn’t come. Try the exercise I include in today’s post. That should help. 🙂
But if you’re really having trouble manifesting, I strongly encourage joining my upcoming LOA mastermind. We’ll explore deeply into exactly how to manifest your greatest desires.
Hi Brandon,
Thank you for explaining this. I thoroughly enjoyed reading “What Pictures Are You Holding in Mind?” This blog post really explained that I should expect to have my desire but to not be clingy or obsessive about it. I know I become upset when I don’t see results but I believe the reason I didn’t see results is because I didn’t completely relax, accept reality, and know that I’m getting my desire.
Thank you for your amazing blogs! You’re the best!
Hi @Cece, thanks for your reply. And yeah, getting to that point of being okay either way can be difficult, but it’s so freeing once we accomplish it. Glad that my posts have been helping.
Brandon, you’re right about it being difficult getting to the point of being okay either way. But releasing like that has brought me clarity on a lot of resistance with many things, and I was able to release it anyway. For example, yesterday I was releasing on a person. That person not wanting to do something with me brought sadness and loneliness inside of me. After allowing emotions on that side of the spectrum, I thought what if that person now wanted to do it after all? And then pride and the victim mentality kicked in. And I was able to release on that, too. It wasn’t easy, but I’m glad I gained the clarity. Releasing one way, and then the opposite really brings clarity.
Hi @Z,
So glad that it’s working for you. 😀

Hi Brandon,
Thank you! I am confused as to why we have to be okay if we don’t get it? Sorry, I’m confused by this because on one hand we accept reality and except it to happen then why do you have to be okay with not getting your desire? I might be mistakened but do you mean we should be okay if we don’t have it in the current moment?
Thanks!
Hi @Cece,
I mean to be okay if you never get it. And then to choose to have it.
Go within yourself for a moment. Notice how your mind / ego is freaking out a bit at this thought of being okay with not having your desire. Notice how this feels needy or lacking.
That’s the whole reason why. Your ego wants things. When you’re not okay without the desire, that’s your ego talking. You can’t manifest from that part of yourself.
Your soul, on the other hand, is always accepting—always at peace. It doesn’t need anything. As the creator of your reality, you can put intentions in and they will be manifested, but your soul is always perfectly okay no matter what happens.
So that feeling of “I am not okay if this doesn’t happen” is an ego feeling, and therefore it’s a lack feeling. It’s subtle, but important. And that lack feeling means that you’re attached to getting your desire. And that attachment means that you still have lack in you, and so will manifest lack.
Does that make sense?
Get to the place where the ego lets up on the desire, and you can just enter into the fullness of your own soul’s Beingness, and then the desire will be effortless.
Notice how in life, the people who succeed the most in any area, are those who don’t really need that thing. They are okay whatever happens. People don’t become rich because they really want to have money. They become rich as almost a side effect of what they’re doing, almost an afterthought.
People don’t enter healthy relationships because they need it. They are okay whatever happens, and the relationship comes along.
Hi Brandon,
Thank you for that amazing explanation! So being okay without it will release resistance and when you chose to have something it’s different than needing it thus you manifest it because you don’t need it or lack it anymore.
Thank you ?
Hi @Cece, yes exactly. Well I’d say that being okay without it is proof that you have released on it fully. And then yes, it’ll be easier simply to choose it to happen.
Thank you!!! You’re the best!
