I’ve mentioned before that a few years ago, I had thought about being certified as a hypnotherapist, and had in fact started the training.
And over the last two years, that training has actually come in handy on several occasions. In particular, the theories I learned on the subconscious mind have helped me to better and more quickly change my clients’ subconscious beliefs.
Well, two days ago, I re-enrolled in that same program. I’ve been seeing more and more ways lately how hypnotherapy could allow me to create faster change in my clients.
Well, as I’ve been jumping back into the material, I’ve thought a lot more about the subconscious mind and how it works.
See, we have this powerful mind within us that is able to do just about anything.
But as you well know by now, the thing about the subconscious mind is that it believes what we’ve told it to believe over time, and then it holds on to those beliefs rather stubbornly.
And contrary to what LOA teachers generally say, it doesn’t care if what you’re thinking about “feels good” or not.
It only cares if what you’re thinking about is known and familiar to it.
If what you’re thinking about, or what you’re experiencing, is familiar, in alignment with what it already believes to be true, then that’ll be accepted and will confirm what it already knows. But, on the other hand, if what you think or experience is not in alignment with what it believes to be true, then it will be rejected.
For example, imagine you want to believe that you can have a long-lasting, happy relationship. But, your subconscious mind believes that you aren’t worthy of this.
So, case #1: someone attractive comes up to you and shows some interest. This feels good to your conscious mind. According to most interpretations of the law of attraction, if you focus on this good feeling, then you will be able to manifest a relationship.
But, your subconscious mind will say, “They must have an agenda. They aren’t really interested in me.” Subsequently, the thought of “This person is interested in me” is rejected by the subconscious.
Case #2: You’re interested in someone, but they don’t return your calls. This does not feel good to you. According to most interpretations of the LOA, your subconscious shouldn’t want anything to do with this, and you just need to not focus on it.
But in reality, your subconscious will eat that right up. It says, “Oh yeah, they’re not interested. They’re never going to return my calls.” So, guess what you manifest?
So, the only question is not how good you are feeling, though yes that still plays a role in this. The question is, are you programming your subconscious mind for success, or are you allowing it to create what you’ve always created?
In my upcoming mastermind, I’ll teach you everything you need to know about how to reprogram your subconscious mind for achieving your biggest dreams in life.
