I often have wondered why it is that when I first started intentionally using the law of attraction, results came so slowly. But now, they come extremely quickly, sometimes in a matter of days.
It’s hard to relate to those who have been waiting for months or even years for their manifestation. Yes, I was there once, but that is no longer my reality.
And as I do with anything, I analyzed this question. I put it out there to the Universe.
And, well, the answer I got seemed rather simple, but upon further reflection, it really is not at all.
So what is it? What is that thing that causes some to be able to manifest quickly, while others seem to be slogging along?
Faith: The Key to Faster Manifestations
Now, faith is something I’ve very, very rarely discussed on this site, and never at any great length as far as I can remember.
Trust, yes. Letting go, yes. But both of these are different from, albeit related to, faith.
Faith seems to be that key that just makes everything much smoother.
I mean, it’s not the only key. I’ve discussed persistence, will, and any number of other elements to the law of attraction.
But today it’s time to discuss faith.
What Is Faith?
So first, what exactly is faith?
Obviously I don’t mean faith in any particular religion, deity, cosmic being, or any other such thing.
By faith, I simply mean the belief in this whole process—the belief that you do have power to create your own life—the belief that the Universe is supporting you.
I’m fortunate here, because even before I believed in the law of attraction, I knew that the Universe supported me in whatever I did. No matter what happened, no matter what mistakes I made, everything would always work out in the end. I used to say that I had the best luck of anyone, because I just knew that everything would always work out, and it always did.
But coming into this, I had some disadvantages as well. I was skeptical of “spiritual laws”. I had had some negative experiences a few years before that had made me distrust spirituality.
By this point, I had several years of disappointment under my belt: one failure after another with trying to fulfill my purpose. And so, I also lacked faith in that arena.
I neither had faith in my own ability to create, nor in the purpose I had once felt I possessed.
And that’s why my manifestations were sluggish at the time. I had a brief string of successes, but I simply didn’t have the faith in myself to continue.
So by faith, I’m talking about that basic belief in your own worth, in your own creative potential, and in the Universe.
Once I started to have that faith, things began to change drastically.
The Effect of Faith on the Law of Attraction
As I’ve mentioned many, many times before, the law of attraction requires quite a bit of spiritual development to really master it.
I mean, without that spiritual development, you can probably manifest smaller intentions that feel easy to you. But without it, you simply cannot manifest the bigger things: those goals that really matter to you, or, above all, your dream or vision in life.
Faith is one part of that spiritual development that simply cannot be dispensed with.
You see, when you can have faith, you are enabling the Universe to act on your behalf. You are giving up control over the situation as ego, and handing it over to the Universe.
If you can do that even just a little bit, truly amazing things can happen. For example, in my sink-or-swim experience I often discuss from two years ago, I just kept telling myself not to panic, because everything would work out somehow. And, of course, it did, because of that little bit of faith I had.
That’s why, I think, the Bible records Jesus saying that it only takes faith as small as a mustard seed to effect change.
But, assuming that the author recorded his words accurately, I have a sneaking suspicion that he only said that to get people through the door, so to speak.
Get them showing at least a little bit of faith, and getting that little bit of proof in return.
Because, as you attempt to manifest bigger and bigger things (and yes, there is such a thing as “big” and “small” with manifestation), it requires more and more faith.
While you might be able to manifest $20 easily enough, you probably can’t manifest a million dollars with your current level of faith.
Unless, of course, you can—and if so, congratulations!
Growing Your Faith
But I think that if he did say that, it was only to get them to start in the first place. Because once you show a bit of faith, and it’s proven effective, then the next time, you’ll have more faith at your disposal.
That’s what happened to me. After that first time two years ago, I had a bit more faith—not much, but a bit.
Then after a while, seeing some more results, I had even more faith.
At first, I thought that perhaps this all was a fluke.
But after a while, I started to really believe something was going on, at least most of the time. But then I didn’t have as much faith in my own ability to use it.
After about a year of constant progress, something clicked for me, and all my manifestations just started working.
And so as I got those bigger results, my faith grew. And as my faith grew, I got even bigger results.
What appeared to be a “big” manifestation to me near the end of 2016, now seems like a moderate or even small manifestation today.
Heck, last month alone, I made almost double what I made last December, when I had my biggest financial manifestation to date.
It was simply a process of growing my faith little-by-little, and of course learning the inner mechanics of the law of attraction as I did.
But no matter how much I knew how it all worked, it wouldn’t have accomplished anything without the increased faith.
And every time I come to grips with one level of this whole process, the Universe introduces me to the next level, which, of course, requires even more faith.
The manifestations I’m dealing with today feel just as hard as the ones a year ago, but they are far bigger in scope.
The More You Use It, The More It Grows
A talk I was recently listening to by Vishen Lakhiani described faith as a reservoir.
The first time you tap into it, perhaps it is very shallow and you barely get anything out.
But, the deeper that reservoir, the better results you can get.
And the great thing is, as I discussed above, the more you tap into that reservoir of faith, the deeper and deeper it gets, until it never dries up.
I also like to think of it as lifting weights, as cliche as that metaphor might be by now.
Perhaps at first you can barely lift anything before you exceed your own strength.
But the more often you lift, the more you find that you are able to lift heavier and heavier weights.
You can accomplish more with the same muscles.
Or in other words, your same faith now runs deeper, and enables you to accomplish more with it.
But here’s the thing: when you’re lifting weights, you never lift some amount that is easy to you.
If 75 lb is currently hard for you, perhaps in a week or so it’ll become easy, because those muscles have been torn down and rebuilt stronger.
But when that happens, you don’t keep lifting 75 lb. You move up to 80 lb, or 85 lb.
Your goal, in other words, is to make it just as difficult to lift weights as it was on day 1. The only difference is that you’re lifting a heck of a lot more than you were on day 1.
So perhaps on day 1 of manifesting, I could manifest $20 pretty effortlessly.
But one month later, when that faith muscle is stronger, or that reservoir runs deeper, I’m not going to keep manifesting $20.
Why? Well, #1, it’d get boring. If I always manifested the same thing, there’d be no challenge. No one wants to do something that is easy for them.
But #2, my faith simply would stop growing. If I remained at the same level, my faith would have no reason to increase any more than it had, because I’m not requiring more of it.
If you don’t constantly put your own faith to the test, requiring more and more of it, then it will simply stop growing. Your faith reservoir will be as deep as it needs to be to meet the demands of your creative efforts.
If you’re content manifesting parking spaces and blue glass the rest of your life, that’s up to you.
But if you want to achieve true greatness—to always be reaching for more and more—then the only way to do that is to be constantly requiring more and more of your own faith.
While this is far from easy or “feel-good”, it is essential for the kind of success my clients are generally looking for.

7 Steps to Becoming a God
Download my free checklist that will guide you through the steps to becoming the creator of your reality.
Hello Brandon.
I just wanted to thank you for the time you are putting into writing these posts. I stumbled across your site a week ago, while in despair about an issue I felt I just could not fix. In blind faith I asked “god” for guidance because I didn’t know how to resolve the issue on my own – I’d gone down every avenue I could think of, to find a solution. And then the idea of Law of Attraction came into my mind. I had nothing to lose, because I had tried everything else. I had first heard about LOA a few years ago, but I had been put off it partly because it seemed to suggest to me, through what I was reading, that you had to be happy all the time, deny any negative emotions – when what actually works for me is to allow myself to feel negative emotions, process, acknowledge them and let them go. Following the LOA as I thought at the time it was meant to be followed, made me feel like a powder-keg waiting to explode. For example, feeling sadness/anger, but denying those feelings because I must only focus on positive feelings, otherwise my life would only ever be filled with sadness and anger. LOA felt so stressful. 😛 Haha – anyway, I digress. Getting back to the point of my post, in desperation, after I had asked “god” to help show me the way, I googled something like ‘using the LOA to fix problems’ and your site came up. I’ve been reading your posts on a daily basis since then. I always find them so insightful, and often have to go back and re-read paragraphs. And, with regards the issue that was causing me such despair last week . . . I feel at the moment things are heading in the right direction, and are at the very least much more positive than they were last week. I can see some kind of solution coming into light. I have a few possible solutions that have emerged. I still don’t quite know which direction to take. However, is it right for me just to let go and have faith that my “higher power” will show me the direction to go, that the direction will eventually emerge? Thanks!
Hi @Elizabeth,
Wow, I’m honored by your comment. Thanks so much, and I’m glad my posts have helped you. 🙂
It’s great that you’re making progress! And you’re so right about how most see emotions. You really do need to process them and fully release them, in order to move on.
So what I would do is at least once a day, focus on your goal being complete. Feel it being complete. Know it is complete, or at least feel the possibility of it.
It doesn’t have to be long: even only a minute or two is perfectly fine.
And when you do that, simply choose that you will achieve this goal and that the path will be shown to you.
That choice is the key to really moving energy so that you can move forward more quickly.
And then, yes, have faith. Just give it over to the Universe the rest of the day.
If you’re new to manifesting, or are manifesting something that seems “big” to you, I really recommend the new mastermind group I’m setting up, as. Mentioned in this post. It’s an awesome opportunity to learn how to achieve your vision in life. You can learn more about it here: http://www.darkascent.org/destiny

Hello Brandon
Thank you for your response and advice. Yes, I will use the conscious motivation of ‘choice’. I hadn’t thought about that until you mentioned it.
Your comment ‘choose that you will receive this goal, and the path will be shown to you’ resonated with me. While I was visualising/manifesting one evening in the first few days, and in the midst of all the pressure I felt, the word ‘show’ kept popping into my mind. I thought at first it must have been me asking the Universe to show me the way, but it didn’t feel like that. It felt more like the Universe was actually telling me ‘I will show you the way’.
I was reading one of your earlier posts the other day, and it spoke about manifesting small things, and I decided, in a mix of fun and also because I wanted it, to manifest a dress of a particular shade of green. I was a bit unsure of the style, but I knew that I wanted it to be deep green. I could completely visualise the colour, but was a bit distrustful about whether I would get the exact style I wanted. Eventually, I landed on a website that had the nearest style to what I thought I wanted, but the green was entirely different – much more like a pale grey. Anyway, it was the nearest thing to what I wanted, so I just ordered it, anyway. So, I pick it up from the store and – instead of being the extremely pale green that was definitely on the website – it is actually, in reality, a deep green coloured dress, exactly the colour I had in my mind!! Also, the style was a bit of a wonky version of the style I wanted but didn’t feel quite confident in getting. Anyway, I put all this down to me being entirely confident in the clarity of my vision regarding the colour, and a reflection of the fact I was not so confident in finding the exact style I wanted. Anyway, it made me laugh . . . felt is if I learnt a lesson. 🙂

Hi @Elizabeth,
Wow, that’s a great experience! Thanks so much for sharing. 😀 Very glad that things are working out for you.
Jesus said if you have faith as a mustard seed you could move a mountain, His point was not that you need more faith but rather a stronger more consistent faith. He used a mustard seed because despite it being such a small seed it grows into a huge tree. Maybe if He were in our part of the world He may have said an acorn but the point with a mustard seed is that if you blow it, it’s gone. So whereas faith of a mustard seed can actually move a mountain that kind of faith is so fragile and prone to the winds of doubt and fear it’s very unlikely to do anything but by allowing that faith to grow you will see the results you are looking for and the mountain will truly be flung into the sea.
The LOA IS faith, the LOA is how faith works basically. The Book of James makes several references to the LOA and the Bible is full of LOA principles in various forms.
