Are you happy?
I don’t mean today only, like asking, “Are you having a good day?”
I mean, are you really happy?
If not, do you believe that your goal is going to make you happy?
If so, I have some bad news for you…
That isn’t to say that your goal won’t be awesome, and super enjoyable, but it just won’t make you truly happy.
I call it the Day-After-Christmas effect. On Christmas, especially as kids, we got all those awesome presents. Then the next day, it’s just life as usual.
There was a study done on the happiness level of two types of people.
The first person had just been through some traumatic event, like a car accident, while the second person had just experienced some positive event, like winning the lottery.
They found that yes, of course, immediately after each event, the first person was not very happy at all, and the second person was very happy indeed.
But when they followed up after a year had passed, both people were about the same in happiness level.
The first person had gotten over their accident and returned to their previous level of happiness. And, the person who had won the lottery had come down from that high and returned to life as usual.
So if you’re postponing your happiness until the day you get that goal, you’re making a huge mistake.
Not only are you sabotaging your own manifestation, because if you’re not happy now, you can’t manifest as effectively; but also you will just end up disappointed when the goal just becomes another part of your life.
If you want to be happy, well, the only solution is just to start being happy, NOW.
