Last week someone started a chat with me, asking a question. Her question was essentially, “You’ve talked about how to manifest what you want, but how do you stop manifesting what you don’t want?” Basically, how do you stop a negative manifestation from getting bigger, and how can you actually eliminate it altogether?
I realized that this was a bit of a gap in what I’ve written about here. I’ve discussed how your negative manifestations can actually help you, but not how to actually, you know, stop manifesting them. 🙂
Honestly the process isn’t all that different, but I understand why there might be some confusion. So, I hope to clear that up today.
At the end of this post, I’ll give you a surprisingly simple tool that has the power to turn around any negative manifestation.
How a Negative Manifestation Happens in the First Place
Let’s start at the beginning. You’re working on a big goal of yours. We’re just going to assume this is a next level goal, because otherwise you probably wouldn’t be at risk of too many negative manifestations.
So how does a negative manifestation get started, then?
Kickback from Your Goal
Any time you focus on a goal, you are moving energy towards that goal. But, if your subconscious structures don’t support that goal, then you will experience resistance. Hopefully this is basic by this point, but if it seems new, then I recommend going back and reading the subconscious structures post.
So, it is very common that when you focus on a goal, you’re going to get a bit of kickback from it. The bigger the goal—i.e., the less your current subconscious structures support that goal—the bigger the kickback. You may have heard in Spiritual Freedom Support Call #23 that I actually advised someone to let up on a goal a bit, because the kickback from it was so severe that it was really interfering with her life.
When an airplane attains cruising altitude, it lifts its landing gear, because otherwise it generates too much drag on the plane, requiring more thrust to move it forward. This is somewhat like your goal. When you start focusing on it, that focus generates thrust, which has the potential to move you forward. But you also have current resistance (drag), which is pulling you back at the same time. If you don’t reduce that drag, then it is going to hurt, quite a bit, and require more forward momentum to make any progress.
Remember that the greater the forward momentum, the greater the drag as well, which is why big goals hurt so much. Have you ever stuck your hand out the open window of a moving car? The faster the car is moving, the greater the drag on your hand. That’s resistance in a nutshell.
A Choice
So the resistance is inevitable. It’s a natural part of the process, which I’ve discussed before. It’s not to be feared. However, you must know how to deal with it appropriately. Using the above metaphor, you must learn how to reduce the drag on your goal.
When this resistance arises, you have a basic choice: whether to give it focus and reaction or not. Recall from our podcast on how to overcome limiting beliefs that the two ingredients to grow any manifestation, positive or negative, is focus plus reaction. When these two elements are present, the energy of that manifestation grows. When they are absent, it decreases.
It’s that simple. And it applies not only to your resistant thoughts, but to all thoughts. If you give it focus and emotional reaction, you make it grow. If you do not, then you diminish it.
When You React
Let’s say you run into a particularly bad bit of resistance, and you give it your focus and reaction. What happens?
It grows, of course. And as I teach in The Art of Reality Creation, as a manifestation grows, it becomes more and more dense—more and more crystalized within outer reality.
Now remember that even just the negative thought itself is a negative manifestation. It may not be in outer reality yet, but there is no differentiation to the Universe. It is all the same.
A Downward Spiral
So as you react, again and again, you give it a bit more energy, and a bit more energy, and a bit more energy. And every time you give it energy, you are allowing it to grow bigger and bigger in your reality.
Now the awful thing is that as it grows bigger, not only does it show up in bigger and bigger ways, but it elicits greater and greater reactions from you. And so it is easier and easier to give it your focus and reaction, and your reaction will be more and more intense. That’s why negative manifestations tend to grow exponentially once they start. The bigger they get, the more you react, and the more you react, the bigger they get.
Stopping a Negative Manifestation
So that’s how a negative manifestation comes about. You start with a resistant thought, you react to it over and over again, and pretty soon it grows into a negative manifestation that is rooted in outer reality.
But, how do you stop it? Once it is really out of control, how do you end that downward spiral?
Ignoring the Problem
One common approach that people take is to ignore the negative manifestation. But, this is problematic for a few reasons:
First is that by the time things get really critical, it is almost impossible to just ignore it and focus elsewhere. It will keep stealing your focus back, again and again, and every time it is successful, you’ve reacted to it yet again.
But secondly, if you have a goal which has triggered this negative manifestation, then it will continue to trigger it, until you resolve that negative manifestation. You could drop the goal temporarily, but I highly discourage that in almost all circumstances, unless you have jumped to far too big of a goal. I’ll discuss below the possibility of dropping the goal.
So for example, if you have a money goal, which is triggering a poverty manifestation, then you’re going to keep getting that negative manifestation until you release it. If you try to just ignore it, then how are you going to drop the money goal? Usually, it’s going to make you want that money goal even more, and even become desperate for it. It would take intense discipline to actually stop focusing on the money goal for a while to allow the momentum of the poverty manifestation to die down.
More likely, it’ll fester in the back of your mind. You’ll say you’re ignoring it, but it’s always there, just beneath the surface. There’s a constant low-level anxiety that just won’t go away, because you won’t process it.
Decompression
In the case of a serious negative manifestation, I recommend a process I call decompression, in analogy to the process divers undergo when coming back to the surface after a deep dive. If they ascend too quickly, the quick change in pressure can actually make them sick. So it is a slow, controlled ascent where the pressure is gradually decreased.
It is essentially to spend some time, as much as is necessary, just resting in the zero state whenever that negative manifestation comes to mind or presents itself in outer reality. I have done this over a period of several days before when I’ve been careless with my focus and gotten myself into a downward spiral of anxiety or fear.
In that time, I recommend not focusing on the goal at all. If you do, then it should be very light. However, this decompression time is focused on healing from that negative manifestation. If you focus on the goal, you are just going to add to the pressure again.
This isn’t necessary all the time, but definitely useful with intense resistance. It’s a complete shutdown of all focus in relation to the goal, and a complete removal of all reaction to that negative manifestation.
You’ll know when you’re out of it, because you’ll feel lighter and freer. You can focus a bit on the goal without immediately triggering major resistance.
Non-Reaction Starves the Negative Manifestation
Even with negative manifestations that don’t require a decompression time, you still want to give it non-reaction any time it comes up. Remember that reaction feeds it, and non-reaction starves it. So though it might come up frequently at first, if you keep giving it non-reaction, it will come up less and less frequently.
When you practice non-attachment, it can really help you to stop reacting to these negative manifestations. You can’t react to what you don’t believe. The moment you see through the illusion that your ego has constructed is the very moment it stops having control over you.
That’s very hard for most people, but it does take practice. This stuff isn’t so easy at first. And, unfortunately there is no shortcut.
Keep Choosing the Goal
The most important part of this process is that you continue to choose the goal no matter what. It’s only by choosing the goal, in the face of the resistance, over and over again, that creative tension is generated and your subconscious structures can be quickly changed.
This applies, of course, unless you are going through the decompression process, then you can let it go for a few days. But even with that, you are focusing on the goal, recovering from the kickback via decompression, focusing on the goal, recovering from the kickback, etc, until the severity isn’t so debilitating and you can give the goal more of your focus.
But, the goal will feel like a stretch until it is in reach. That is normal, and to be expected. You have to get comfortable with discomfort in order to make major changes in your subconscious structures.
When to Drop Your Vision of the Goal
As I mentioned above, there may be a very few situations in which you should drop the goal. It is extraordinarily rare, though, and I would never make a habit of it. This should be a last resort.
However, sometimes when people are choosing their first goal to manifest with the law of attraction, they will go way out of their comfort zone. Why this is depends on the individual, but some possible reasons are:
- They underestimate the power of resistance
- They are so desperate that they think only a massive goal can make them happy
- They really don’t take the process seriously
Whatever the reason, some people fall to the temptation of choosing far too big of a goal. I’m all for dreaming big, but you generally have to take steps towards that dream, not achieve it all in one big step. It’s great to set an ultimate level goal, but also set a shorter-term vision that can lead to that ultimate level goal.
So how do you know if you should drop your goal and reduce it to something smaller? Generally you’ll know, because the resistance is just overwhelming you. If every time you think of the goal, you experience massive resistance that you can’t find your way out of, then the goal may very well be too big.
Again, it is better to choose a manageable goal from the start, than to have to drop an unmanageable goal later on. Take the process of choosing your goal seriously, and take into account the 3 essential elements to any successful manifestation: it should be inspiring, believable, and challenging. Without all of these, it’s probably not going to work.
One Tool to Turn Around Any Negative Manifestation
At the beginning of this post, I promised I would share a tool that could turn around any negative manifestation to the positive. Now’s the time to do so. 🙂
This tool doesn’t replace any of the above. An understanding of everything I discussed in this post will help you to use this tool even more effectively. In particular, decompression should come prior to using this tool, but it can help you to get out of that stage more quickly.
It comes in the form of a simple question. I’ve been using this question lately with some negative manifestations, and it’s worked wonders.
The Question
The question is: “What is it I want out of this situation?”
The problem is that when you have a negative manifestation, especially one that is taking all of your focus, you are focused solely on getting rid of that negative manifestation. However, that focus will only hold it in existence.
The above question will help you to redirect your focus to what you really want. Instead of focusing on the negative manifestation and what problems it is creating for you, you are turning your focus to the solution.
- If you have issues with money, it’s not that you want to get rid of those issues, it’s that you want more money.
- If you are having problems with your partner, it’s not that you want to get rid of those problems, it’s that you want a happy relationship.
- If you are sick, it’s not that you want to get rid of the sickness, it’s that you want health.
Once your focus is directed to what you want out of the situation, then you are in a better position to create that in your life. However, you cannot create a negative. You cannot create the absence of money issues, relationship problems, or sickness. You can only create the presence of something else that will replace those things.
The Statement
There is a followup statement, which goes: “I choose to have _____.”
Insert the answer to the question into the blank above, and use it as your affirmation.
- “I want more money” becomes: “I choose to have more money.”
- “I want a happy relationship” becomes: “I choose to have a happy relationship.”
- “I want health” becomes: “I choose to have health” (or “I choose to be healthy”).
Feel free to alter the statement to make sense for your particular desire. Just be sure it starts with “I choose ….”
This statement will allow you to deliberately choose your goal. It will move this desire from a want to a choice that you make as a deliberate creator. Creators don’t want: they choose, and then they achieve.
[bctt tweet=”Creators don’t want: they choose, and then they achieve.”]
Once you make that deliberate choice, day-after-day, your energy will flow in that new direction, and you will start to create that in your life, instead of the problem.
An Example in My Own Life
Recently I had some negative manifestations. One particular one was where there were some unforeseen delays in getting my intro for Co-Create Your Life. I wanted it to be done by last Saturday, because I release the podcast on Saturdays. However, there was delay-after-delay, and I was quickly getting frustrated.
So I decided to use this tool. I asked myself, “What is it I want out of this situation?” And my answer was, “I want my intro to be amazing, and perfect for my podcast. I also want it to be delivered quickly.” Then I chose to have these things.
Almost immediately, things started working out. After not too long, I had the intro, and was finally able to release the podcast.
It wasn’t always easy, but every time I was tempted to complain about the situation, I just repeated the above process. I gradually felt better and better about it, and I just knew it would work out. And, of course, it did.
So, I invite you to try out this tool for yourself, and see if it helps you to stop your negative manifestations and create what you really want.
How About You?
Now it’s your turn. What negative manifestations are you experiencing in your life right now? How can you apply the above techniques to turn your focus to creating the positive? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Brandon, so the other day I finally found out what the weird sound was, and where it’s coming from! It’s a sound coming from the water heater in my neighbor’s apartment. He is a bit deaf, so he didn’t notice that the sound was coming from the water heater, but he did tell me several times how the sound bothers him. he thought some bird was making the sounds from the outside. I told the landlord what’s going on, and asked him to resolve the problem. He came and saw what the problem was, but then started saying things like, “that’s normal, there’s nothing that can be done”. He seemed very reluctant to call the repairman to fix it. I guess he doesn’t want to spend money on repairs. I felt fear but confronted him anyway, in a good way. I kept calm, and simply, non-reactively kept telling him that the sounds bothers me a lot, and that I’d like him to take care of it. He kept making excuses. I also noticed how he avoided looking into my eyes, he is a coward, in a way.
Also, the neighbor who’s apartment the water heater is, is a much bigger coward, he is very fearful. So, when the landlord started telling all this stuff, the neighbor dropped his wish to have the sound issue fixed, and he started saying how it’s okay, and how the sound doesn’t bother him. Which are lies, and I can see that he reacted out of fear, to conform and avoid confrontation with the landlord.
Anyway, I now started actively focusing on creating the resolution to this situation, creating peace. Unlike before, when i didn’t know what the sound was, and when I focused on several issues with the apartment at once, now I’m focusing on the resolution of this single one. And now I even know what it is. So, do I simply keep choosing my goal of resolution of this issues, and creating peace? Like, I’ll create this peace, no matter what, even if both my neighbor and my landlord won’t support me with this? (I won’t assume they won’t, but I’d like to hear your advice)
Hi Z,
Why don’t you try applying the techniques I gave in this post? So, what do you want out of this situation? Then just focus on that, and keep choosing it, as you said you were doing. That is the way out. 🙂
Also, how did you find the questions I asked you the other day in relation to the resistance you were experiencing?
Glad things are going better for you. 🙂
Okay, thanks! I guess that even if they don’t support me, me focusing on what I want will get me what I want. Even if it means the Universe inspiring someone to break into my neighbor’s apartment and steal the water heater haha.
As for those questions, I really didn’t resonate with them. But I am applying some other things you advised me, and I’m grateful for that.
Hi Z,
I wouldn’t entertain the possibility of such a… violent option, lol. Thoughts have power. don’t wonder about the how: just choose what you want to happen.
Regarding the questions, I’d still invite meditation on them, or questions like them. You are caught up in your stories right now, and it’s helpful to learn how to see through those stories.
Haha yeah don’t worry. I feel love towards my neighbor and landlord, and I’m working on even expanding that love. That’s why I am gonna resolve this nicely, instead of fighting with them, or threatening them or whatever. I won’t bother with the “how”, but I’m curious hehe. This knowing that things are getting resolved no matter what gives me some peace, that really removes any need for fighting for what I want.
Anyway, I’ve been seeing my growth lately. The goal of me being expressively open and enjoying friendships is growing nicely. There are times where I feel that I want to do something, but I feel fear (tension). I do it anyway, and it helps to know that the discomfort is helping me grow.
Hi Z,
I’m very happy for you! I think you’re doing a great job. 🙂
I understand the discomfort, and it is okay. I think you are making great progress.
I’d like a rest from life. An ‘opt out’ button. Just to be able to say to life “fuck you”, rather than being a slave all the time.
Some of life’s demands.
– Life demands that you release negativity, yet gives you a mind which has been specifically designed to dwell on negatives. Life designed you with a mind which makes it near impossible.
– Life demands that you don’t grasp at objects of desire, yet gives you a mind which has been specifically designed to cling and grasp.
If you don’t follow life’s demands, life makes you suffer. No rest and constant struggle. I don’t know why I bother. Such a shit system.
Hi CJ,
I’m sorry you feel that way. Yes it is difficult, if one is undisciplined. That’s why it takes time, sometimes many lifetimes, to really become good at this. But that’s the game. That’s the whole point.
But it’s really all in your hands. The fact that you’re thinking about this stuff means that you’re ready for it. But you have to stop the victim consciousness, and step into creator consciousness. There are no victims in this Universe, only roles being played. You’re playing yours rather brilliantly, but you can step out of the role any time you like.
I would just like to add my own realizations to what Brandon said. Lately I’ve been noticing more and more how often I have been “playing the victim role” myself. How often I would see photos of others having had a lot of times with their friends, went to places and countries I’ve never been to, etc. It would always cause a lot of pain inside of me, because no matter what, I can’t go back to past and switch the lonely painful years into happy years filled with friends and going places. It has taken me sooo much, but I finally have started realizing just how irrelevant that is. I am here. I am now. I can only create from now onward to the future. So my main focus is to create what I want from now on.
I will tell you, in the last several weeks, there have been many times that triggered that regret and awfully painful emotions, for not having had friends and experiences I wanted, for years. At first I would trip inevitably, and get caught in it. However, now I remind myself that it’s just energy, and then I do my best to apply mindfullness, I tap (even though I haven’t yet noticed tapping helping me ever), I use the Sedona Method questions. The other day there was big such negative energy, that I used the kinesthetic approach of NLP, that Brandon once demonstrated with someone. I am pretty sure (not 100% though), that this helped me that time. The analogy of river making its way through rocks helps, too.
And when finally I manage to feel that the resistant energy is weak enough (for the time), I enter the feeling of what I want, and deliberately choose to have it. I can feel the “burning” (pain) of resistance, but I allow it, and still refocus. I can actually do it successfully, and then I return to the zero state.
I’ve also noticed that now when failing exams, I don’t wallow in the emotions (at least not for long), I say, “who cares what I did or didn’t do, let’s see what to do now”. I have been training myself to be responsible, and not weep about what I failed to do. Taking responsibility IS a big challenge, and I’m still struggling a bit with this, but I don’t have the intention to give up. I have also started taking cold showers twice a day. They have awesome health benefits, and what caught my eye is people saying how it strengthens willpower. I can tell you, it does take willpower to get into cold shower. xD
And in the end, I would like to say that probably the most important thing of all, that I have been reminded of lately is, loving myself. A few weeks ago, during conversation with my parents over the phone, I noticed how emotionless I was. After the call was over, I wondered if I had become emotionally numb. Then I remembered recent Melody’s post on loving ourselves, and I asked myself, “Do I love myself?”. And I felt nothing. No emotions whatsoever towards myself. And then I realized my next move. I applied Melody’s techniques, but also I started actively appreciating my body for everything it does for me. I also started talking to myself as “you”, when telling myself my good qualities. It’s so much easier when I use “you”, because it feels like I’m talking to a friend. It feels like there is energy flowing from someone to someone.
And I can tell you, love has been growing inside me, towards myself, towards my family, my friends, and many random people I happen to see, or even talk to. I would say that learning to love oneself is the start of everything. It is THE main connection with the Universe. At least for me.
Also, I realize that its possible that I complain again in here some time soon, because yeah I’m a human lol. However, I’m pretty sure things are unfolding beautifully. Seriously, if I have managed to discover this new beauty in life, and release a lot of pain already, then I’m sure anyone can do it. It takes time and practice, and the most important thing, learning to love oneself, and feel love flowing through oneself, and everything around.
P.S. I myself have lately felt like a child who refuses to “grow up” in a sense of realizing that I hold the reins of my reality, instead of being at mercy of life. The shift has been taking place inside me, though. It’s practice. So keep on, CJ, because we can do it! Sooner or later.
Hey Z,
So, I installed a plugin to allow users to like comments, just so I could like your comment. Just thought you should know that. 🙂
But seriously, awesome comment.
I had trouble with self-love for many years. I’m not really sure what changed it around.
I think self-love definitely helps. I’m not going to say it is indispensable to creating, which is why I haven’t focused on it much. Lots of artists have had major self-worth issues, or outright hated their own art, and yet created beautiful works of art.
The major keys, as I see it, are (1) persistence in your goal, (2) the ability to stop believing your ego stories, and (3) the ability to manage your focus well.
haha Brandon you installed it just for that? xD
I’m honored. 😀
I think it’s a cool function though, I also remember reading some comments that I found to be amazing.
I remember when you said that connection with the Divine is very important. Feeling this love is that connection for me. I guess everyone can interpret it in a different way.
It still amazes me how persistence is the major deal, and yet I was giving it low importance for years. However it makes certain people stand out and inspire others, which is cool. 🙂
Hi Z,
Glad you like the function. 🙂
Yes connection with the Divine is very important, too. I’m glad you’ve found that for yourself.
I want to share another very interesting thing that I have noticed with myself lately! I have definitely been getting more open with people. What is of the biggest interest to me is communication between me and my colleagues at college. Several times I have found myself being inspired to say something that is of open, friendly nature, that carries the energy that feels like me and that other person are close friends and we can joke openly. However right after such inspiration, ego would kick in, and inform me that this clashes with my established identity. Like, I would be inspired to say something or act in a way a close friend would, yet I have no such experiences with communicating with people like that. Ego can’t find such memories of me, it’s not part of my old identity. The inspiration flows naturally and beautifully, even though the ego starts saying, “you can’t say that! you are not that close with that person. If you say that, they will look weird at you, wondering why you are so different all of a sudden. They will think of you as of a weirdo”.
Several times I’ve let the ego stop me in these scenarios. However the other several times I said (expressed) what I was inspired to, anyway, and it went okay. The energy is really moving, I’m getting inspired for words and actions that go along the energy of my goal with open expression and friends!
This was really such an interesting observation for me, it’s fascinating how new energy is moving, and how the ego fears change, and doesn’t want to lose old identity. lol
Hi Z,
That’s very interesting. I agree, though, and am not surprised the ego would try to cling to its old identity. But once you start disregarding that, and doing it anyway, then it’ll get the hint and not put up as much of a fight. 🙂

Hey Brandon! Thanks for doing this post. Oftentimes I’ll try to find and release the limiting beliefs. Sometimes identifying the limiting belief clears it right up, but other times I can tell my poking around in it just makes it bigger lol. I think practicing non attachment from my stories and hanging around in the zero state sounds like a good idea 🙂
I know you’ve spoken before about how ignoring the problem never worked for you. If you ignore the negative manifestation, you don’t give it focus or reaction. But I’ve noticed ignoring it doesn’t usually work for me either because the energy needs to flow through and it can’t do that if you suppress it, correct? Your subconscious structures keep it alive? But thinking of it while practicing non attachment just lets the energy pass like it wants to do
I have another mini question if you don’t mind. I live in the US and there is a lot of negativity surrounding trump right now. I recognize that I don’t want to put my attention on lack and what I don’t want like many protesters are doing. But if I think of what I want instead will that actually help anything? Like if i just really generally think about how I want happiness and security and abundance for everyone, will that be enough energy/momentum to help anything? I feel like Abe would say yes, but you might say no because there won’t be enough momentum to create any solutions.
Hi Natasha,
Thanks for your comment.
I first would not recommend trying to find your limiting beliefs. They will present themselves when the time is right, triggered by your goals in a natural way.
Secondly, ignoring the negative manifestation won’t work because it’s just sitting inactive. You are also ignoring all of your other latent resistance, but that doesn’t mean that it is diminishing because of that. It requires non-reaction in the face of the negative manifestation or the resistance. Both elements need to be present in order for it to work.
To your question, well holding a general intention of happiness and security probably won’t do much. Many people are holding a general intention, but not really making that a goal. This is why the distinction between “want” and “choose” is so important. There’s little to no power behind “want”. Lots of people want lots of things that they never get. But to choose is to put your power as a creator behind it.
Even if you choose these things though, and I mean not only say the words but really, honestly choose happiness and security for all, that is a massive, massive ultimate level goal. Not even someone running for president, who would be in the best situation to accomplish that, could guarantee it for everyone.
If it is a goal, it is going to drive you forward. You are going to act, not just dream. You might support various causes, or initiate your own causes in support of this goal.
But, in the end you cannot manifest for others, especially those who are not aligned with it. Many today will choose to be miserable, no matter what Trump ends up being like as president. They will choose to be miserable because they cannot get past the ego story that he is a terrible person and will ruin the country.
So do what you can. Choose the goal if you really want to, but choosing a goal is not a small matter. It’s not just a nice-sounding intention.
Of course, positive energy never hurts. 🙂
Thank you for your reply ?.

Hey Brandon,
What do you think of the Abraham-Hicks prosperity game? I’ve been playing it (not the most consistently) on and off since the beginning of the year. Every few days, I receive an increase by a few hundred dollars to spend. It’s proven fun but sometimes challenging to spend that money! It’s fun to dream and research what I would buy. So far I have not only purchased things I need, but also pleasurable extras such as luxury trips, high quality clothing and energy coaching sessions.
I just am not sure though if this is helping or hindering my wealth vibration. The amounts I’ve spent so far are big enough to enjoy and have fun with, but not so far off that they’re overwhelming. I don’t know if this game is leading me to spend too much time focusing on ideal situations instead of next level goals. It’s definitely a relief from trying to figure out how I will get to point B from point A, but I’m afraid I’m wasting too much time in this fun virtual reality!
Your blog is a great source of information. I’ve only recently discovered it but look forward to reading more.
Hi Anonymous! Thanks for your comment. 🙂 And I so appreciate your words, and am glad that you find usefulness from this blog.
To answer your question:
I think your intuition is leading you pretty well on this one. Putting yourself in the vibrational place of having more money is a very good thing to do, but with how this particular game works, it can quickly enter the realm of fantasy and daydreaming, rather than deliberate choice.
It sounds to me that it is getting to the point of escape for you, which I think you recognize. It should never be an escape. Your goals should stretch you, as I said in my post.
The reason it gets into daydreaming is that the amounts you are getting every day are so big that your subconscious mind can’t even fathom that kind of wealth. So, it stops even trying, and it enters the mode of, “This is nice to think about, but it’s not real.” And if you think about it, you know that it’s not real, right?
So, set your next level goal. What goal is inspiring, believable, and challenging for you when it comes to money? Then, put yourself in the place of having achieved that goal within yourself. How would it feel? What would life be like? Do this for a few minutes every day, especially before bed.
If you want more details about how to manifest your goals, I recommend my course, The Art of Reality Creation.
I hope the above helps. 🙂
Hey Brandon,
Thanks for your reply.
I have a few questions about what you wrote here:
“So, set your next level goal. What goal is inspiring, believable, and challenging for you when it comes to money? Then, put yourself in the place of having achieved that goal within yourself. How would it feel? What would life be like? Do this for a few minutes every day, especially before bed.”
What if my next level believable goal doesn’t feel inspiring or motivating at all? What if it actually feels pretty crappy, especially when I think about how I would have to earn money in a certain time frame? (I.e working at a job I hate and feel trapped in.) My goal to earn money so I can move to another country and buy a few other things I need. Paying my own way is the only realistic option I can see right now (even though it would be amazing if someone else could help me or I could obtain the money without much effort.) I feel like whatever I do, I can’t win. Of course the ideal would be to obtain the money in an easy way or to receive it as a gift, but I don’t completely believe it.
Should I just focus on what I want (moving and the other few things I want to get) and NOT focus on the how (whether I pay or receive them as a gift)?
Thanks for your questions. 🙂
If it doesn’t feel good to you, then it’s not a next level goal. It’s your ego’s idea of how you can get to your goal. As you suggested, I’d stay general and be open to different ways it can happen.
The law of attraction will surprise you, when you allow it to. Earlier this week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, I set th goal for $200 by the end of the month. I exceeded that goal today all at once. It’s fast, when you allow it to be fast. I’m just giving you this example so you see how it works, and that it can work quickly.
Thanks Brandon for your answers! 🙂
How long would you recommend focusing on our next level goals each day?
I have 3 main goals I’m currently focusing on. One is definitely a “how” (money) to help bring about the other two. Of those 2 goals, one is more urgent than the other (the less urgent one is much more a series of smaller goals.) The more urgent goal demands more belief and requires me shift my mindset more than the other. It is a bit of a stretch, but it’s something I really want, inspiring and it’s not too unrealistic as to be completely unbelievable.
Recently I have successfully manifested two smaller goals that also demanded me to grow and work on worthiness. I had to grow to obtain them, but now that I have them I’m onto the next thing!
I forgot to add, do you feel that constant, 24/7 focus on our goals is necessary to achieve them? I’ve heard some people say that this is necessary, and others who believe that it’s counterproductive. I’ve seen both approaches work in my life.
Ok, I will have to keep “What is it I want out of this situation?” and “I choose to have _____” in mind. I’m going to begin focusing on my goals for 5-10 minutes daily, as you mentioned. Did you mean 10 minutes for each goal or for all of them in total?
I feel that a lot of what’s blocking my desires’ manifestation are feelings of unworthiness. Only quite recently have I become conscious of this pattern! The prosperity game really made me aware of it. I feel guilty and undeserving when something I really want (especially something I feel is particularly valuable or desirable) comes to me easily. I feel like I have to suffer and that life can never be very good. There’s always a let down around the corner! Even with these beliefs, I’ve still been able to manifest some things I really wanted. If they came easily though, there’s always at least a little bit of guilt present.
I notice the same!
Do you have any tips on how to soothe your mind’s inststence of knowing the “how”? As in, my mind has a very strong attachment to knowing how my goals will happen, and I want to alleviate this. Even with next level and current goals, my mind is very insistent on knowing how exactly a specific result will come to fruition. This is something I definitely want to let go of, as I really feel it’s a belief pattern that’s blocking me.
This is just a result of the ego wanting control. As you begin to trust in the law of attraction, that will go away a bit. Right now, this might seem like just a nice-sounding idea, but one you can’t fully trust. As it happens again, and again, and again, you’ll see that it really does work.
It also might come from making your own happiness dependent on this goal. I’m all about deliberately choosing the goal, but you have to start from a foundation of unconditional peace, at least to the best of your ability. That’s why I always encourage entering the zero state first.
I also wanted to ask whether we should only focus on one goal (specifically one next level goal) or we could also focus on several in different areas of our lives.
What do you think about action? I’ve been told by Melody Fletcher (love her!) that we should not force ourselves to do things we don’t want to do, even if it pertains to our goals. We should instead do what we feel inspired to, moment by moment, allowing ourselves to be inspired to take action towards our goals rather than doing what we think we need when we aren’t called to. Other teachers say that we should work on our goals everyday, taking action towards them whether we feel like it or not. Many say we have to really hustle and put in a lot of effort in order to get anything we want done.
Hi again,
Regarding goals, it’s okay to have a few of them, but you don’t want to split your energy among too many. goals require individualized attention, and you lose a lot of that if you have too many of them.
Regarding action, I’m more in the inspired action camp. Inner work needs to come first, before outer action. Outer action should be a direct expression of our inner state. Otherwise it’s inauthentic.
When you set a goal, it’ll drive you to take the actions you need to. However, it’s also true that every single action won’t be 100% enjoyable. But it’ll be part of the larger context leading up to your goal. It should also not be painful, though, or something you hate or dread. I’m just saying that not every action will be 100% joyful all the time. However, you know when you should take them, because it comes from your higher self, not from your ego.
What do you think about listening to teachers and other sources of information if we feel a drop of energy or sinking feeling when we listen to them? They claim to know the way, but their ideology, methods or techniques feel like step downs from where we are rather than steps up. I feel that when a teacher’s material uplifts is (even if it is simply anger coming out of depression), our higher selves are telling us that this information is true for us. On the other hand, I can definitely observe that parts of my mind will willingly accept suffering and will put up with it, so I’ll follow advice that feels terrible.
I would definitely follow your intuition. If someone’s advice feels bad to you, then that’s a good sign to disregard it.
However as with everything, this shouldn’t be an ego-level type of thing. If the advice simply makes your ego feel a bit fearful, that doesn’t mean it’s bad advice. It’s only when you feel a mismatch to it from a deeper level that it is your intuition speaking.
Brandon,
When someone does something annoying and they did it because you expected them to do it (and let’s say you have a much more powerful mind than they do), what’s happened to their free will?
CJ,
No one ever does anything just because you expected them to. Everyone does have free will. We can influence others, but we cannot outright control them.
If they happen to choose to do something you don’t like, and you happen to not like that thing, then you’re a match to them. Once you stop that, then either they’ll stop, or they’ll leave your reality.
I seem to have a high level of influence. Double edged sword that one, especially given my negativity.
Another question if that’s ok/? I was hypnotizing a friend once, and about 2 minutes in she closed her eyes strongly then opened them. I looked at her and it was like “no one home”, which took me by surprise. Then she said “this is not my home. I am not from this place”, then I freaked out, she shut her eyes strongly again and woke up as if she’d been asleep, groggy. What was that speaking? It wasn’t her, that’s for sure.
May have been her soul / higher self. Some people theorize that there are “star seeds”, which means souls that are new to this planet, and came here from other star systems. Not feeling like this is their home is a very common symptom of that. Perhaps I’ll write about that one day soon.
If I hadn’t been so startled, I would have asked it a few questions. My friend never wants me to practice on her again :(. Don’t blame her, it was totally unexpected by both of us.
Haha just yesterday I heard the term “star seed” after a long while, used in a fictional show. And now out of the blue you mentioned it. I never knew there was something more to it than fiction. 🙂
P.S. Last night before sleep, I meditated on love. Love towards myself, love towards people I know. I felt the strong connection. Then I focused on my goals, and went to sleep. A few hours later, I got strong nausea and had to vomit. Then I went back to sleep, but when I woke up in the morning, it was still there, so I had to vomit again. My impression is that I experienced some kind of purging, similar to what Melody described she experiences in Ayahuasca ceremonies. It can’t be a coincidence, right? Even if the food I ate last night caused this, I still had to be inspired to go eat at precisely that place, and eat precisely that food.
Hi Z,
Most fictional ideas have some basis in reality. Even things like elves, fairies, gnomes, etc, have some basis in myth, and are commonly believed to exist either as elemental nature spirits, or some other form of spirit in the astral realm. Fiction just twists it around and makes it often more interesting. 🙂
Funnily enough, I had just gotten done asking Hecate for some more topics to write about regarding metaphysics, and then CJ asked his question. So, synchronicity on my end, too. 🙂
In regards to your question, it doesn’t feel like a purging to me. I’d expect that if the exercise of loving yourself was very painful, but you worked through some major resistance. Then the body might work through some physical stuff as well. But if the whole thing felt pretty good, well, I just don’t see it. Sometimes nausea is just nausea, or is related to something totally unrelated.
The exercise of loving myself comes actually very easily to me, very spontaneously. There were certain issues that I released before. One such time was very intense, that I got physically ill. I wrote about it in forums.
I really wonder what happened though. I really doubt that it just chose to happen randomly. Especially on the night that I felt such strong connection with the Divine.
Hi Z,
As I said, purging usually happens as a result of resistance followed by release. Pure positive feelings don’t result in purging, because nothing was purged. Nothing was really changed in the subconscious structures: you just used what you already had to feel the best you could with your current structures in place.
Yes, this applies to me. Please write about this topic soon and I am so glad it was brought up!
Oo, awesome. Didn’t realize there was such interest. I’ll add it to the post schedule to be out within the next few weeks. 🙂

Hey Brandon,

I have a few questions about what you wrote here:
“So, set your next level goal. What goal is inspiring, believable, and challenging for you when it comes to money? Then, put yourself in the place of having achieved that goal within yourself. How would it feel? What would life be like? Do this for a few minutes every day, especially before bed.”

I have 3 main goals I’m currently focusing on. One is definitely a “how” (money) to help bring about the other two. The more urgent goal demands more belief and requires me shift my mindset more than the other. Hi,
You don’t need to spend very much time with your goals. As long as the time you do spend is well-spent, that’s really all that matters.
I suggest twice per day, about 5 minutes each. Visualizing, affirming, journaling, or whatever works for you. If you think of your goal throughout the day, be sure your thoughts are positive about it. Use the question I provided in this post to get out of negative thinking patterns.
I forgot to add, do you feel that constant, 24/7 focus on our goals is necessary to achieve them? I’ve heard some people say that this is necessary, and others who believe that it’s counterproductive. I’ve seen both approaches work in my life.
Hi again,
Absolutely not. Many people tend to obsess, and I find that if you tell them to focus as much as possible, that brings out that tendency even more.
It’s better to make your time focusing on your goals worthwhile. Like I said, twice a day or so, and just randomly here and there if thoughts of your goal naturally arise.
The goal I said I manifested above, I spent maybe a grand total of 10 minutes manifesting that—in total, not per day. It doesn’t take much.
Ok, I will have to keep “What is it I want out of this situation?” and “I choose to have _____” in mind. I’m going to begin focusing on my goals for 5-10 minutes daily, as you mentioned. Did you mean 10 minutes for each goal or for all of them in total?

If they came easily though, there’s always at least a little bit of guilt present.
I mean 5-10 minutes per goal, but again there’s no strict rule. Sometimes if I’m too tired at night, I’ll spend 2 minutes while getting ready for bed, brushing my teeth, etc, to just focus on the goal. This doesn’t have to be very structured. 🙂 Many people take all of this way too seriously.
With issues around self-worth, I find The Work of Byron Katie to really help. Of course, I offer law of attraction coaching if you want some help working through these beliefs.
But it really just takes questioning your thoughts behind them. Why do you feel guilty? Why aren’t you deserving of the things you want? Etc. It takes time, but it is very possible. 🙂
Thanks Brandon! I will look into the Byron Katie book and coaching with you.
I’ve only begun really questioning these limiting beliefs. They may be accepted by my mind as truth, but I didn’t instill them consciously. It can be a little scary though to think more of yourself than most people think of themselves, to really dare to think bigger than the others around you. This will take practice, but I’m sure I can chip away at this programming bit by bit.
Just think that most confident people are successful, at least in my view. Other people are also intimidated by confidence, so they may be turned off by that. But, there’s nothing wrong with confidence. 🙂
The quickest way I see now to achieve my most urgent goal would be to work where I am at a job I do not enjoy but would allow me to get the money I need. Depending on how many hours I worked, I could have the money within a few months. Originally I had wanted to move to another city, but living expenses would cost more and moving there would delay me from moving where I really want to (different country, more expensive to get there). I hate living where I do now, but if it’s necessary to do something I don’t want to be doing for money to move, then I’ll just have to. How do you accept that the how may not feel good but is necessary to get the money you need to move within a specific time frame?
I think you are going about this in totally the wrong way. You don’t accept it. Well you can, but your soul will protest against it.
First of all, let up a bit on hating where you are now. That will only hold it in existence. Make peace with that first.
Then, open up to the possibility that there are infinite ways of moving to somewhere new. Your ego is just clinging on to what seems like the most likely, and also the most miserable, option.
Non-magicians take that route. Those who don’t realize this Universe is filled with magic take that route. Magicians, reality creators, witches, law of attraction practitioners, create from within first. They don’t try to force the outer world to conform.
I feel like this process is so difficult. For the past few days, I can’t stop obsessing over my goal. Last evening the idea came to me to think about “moving to ____ affordably and in a way that feels good”. It definitely felt good to think that, but my mind keeps coming back and questioning the how’s. I really want it, but at the same time it’s very difficult to commit to as it’s very scary and still feels quite big. A part of me knows it’s possible though, but I really can’t see how I will make it happen. The desire is painful. Why do the things we want most bring the most pain? I find it really difficult to stop thinking about it.
I understand completely.
The things we desire most often bring the most pain because our subconscious structures just aren’t supportive of those desires right now. So, it feels like a stretch.
When you obsess about the how, do your best to apply mindfulness. Witness the tendency of your ego to try to worry about the how. Don’t add your focus to that: just let it be what it is.
Also you might try asking yourself some questions like: “What if I could have this right now?” “What if I were moving tomorrow?” Things like that to make it more realistic to you.
Last night, while I was lying in bed trying to sleep, I had an idea come in about a possible way to move that feels pretty realistic: being a nanny. Even though it doesn’t feel that exciting for me, I can definitely see myself doing it, even if it isn’t something I could do or would want to do for a long time. I have done this before in another country and did not have the best experience. I wonder if I could line up with a better experience this time.
For the past few hours, I’ve been researching other (less realistic) ways to move. Everywhere I read on the internet people say it’s next to impossible to get a visa unless you have special skills, degrees, an already profitable business, clients supplying you with work, or other requirements I don’t currently have. I won’t get too much into details on here, but I feel like I keep hitting dead ends in my search. If I get an idea or find a potential path, there’s usually something blocking me from being eligible for it. Strong frustration keeps coming up.
When feeling extremely frustrated, is it best to back off the research and focus on the feelings of end goal? I’ve run into a lot of frustration with many of my desires, particularly if they involve having to find or figure something out.
It does sound like you’re making progress. 🙂
However, it seems like it’s too early to do all this research. You have way too much resistance to it. Just spend some time focusing on the feelings of it, and you’d be surprised how much things will line up.
This is why I’m not in the camp of “force yourself to take action and it’ll work”. When you’re stuck like this, action only feels like spinning your wheels. Lots of people have had the experience of lining up with it internally, and then something coming out of the blue that allowed them to achieve their goal easily.
So work on that first, and then let the rest fall into place.
Ok, so I’ll just focus on it twice a day for a few minutes each and try not to focus too much on it for the rest of the time.
I’ve noticed this too! It seems like some people have the how just come to them very easily. For me it often feels like a struggle. The scary thing is trusting that it could be easy and that the how come to me without struggling.
I promise that once you start to let go, it’ll all start flooding in.
I’ll probably have to accept that it may take a while for my mind to fully be on board with my desire. Staying general and open helps though. I notice a lot of resistance comes from getting too specific! Maybe, like you said, I just need to back off the details that make me panic right now and spend more time with the ones I can currently accept? It’s easier to think about getting the essence of what I want, the bigger picture, rather than the very specific details that bring up a lot of resistance. Focusing on the main goal is a lot easier than focusing on getting it in a super specific way.
Yes, definitely stay general right now. And it is going to take time, but that’s okay. It takes time for your subconscious structures to change.
If you want, you can stop in during tomorrow’s Spiritual Freedom Support Call. It’s free and it’s a great opportunity to debug your manifestations. 🙂
Thank you for inviting me! What time will it be at?
8:30 PM US Eastern.
After feeling extreme panic and fear and journaling about my anxieties pertaining to my goal, I felt a strange sense of peace (zero state?) come over me. Do you think these intense emotional releases are healthy to engage in as they arise? I’ve heard some teachers say to feel them fully and others say to turn your attention to something better immediately. It feels better to me to let myself feel them, because suppressing intensely uncomfortable emotions hasn’t helped in the long run.
Actually I just had the idea come to my mind, very calmly, that my parents would/could probably give me the money. I just don’t know how to approach them about it though and don’t want to force a how if it’s not truly aligned.
Sounds like you’re making great progress!
Feel them fully—yes I agree with that. Do not repress them in any way. That will just make them get stronger, even if they seem to go away for the moment. I agree with you there.
Don’t give them too much power though. Just notice them, and let them be. Don’t analyze them, or try to do anything else with them. Let them have their space, and they’ll leave very naturally.
Thanks for the clarification on purging, Brandon. I’ve noticed though, that I keep getting various physical ailments, despite me successfully releasing resistant energy, growing self-love, and becoming more aligned with my goals. Like, in the last few days I felt physically okay, and now this suddenly popped up out of the blue. Especially AFTER a really good connection with the Divine. I’m trying to understand what’s going on. At first I thought it was purging. Maybe it was in a way, since last night I realized how certain things that made me feel so distant from others (like them partying at clubs, or them having a lot of friends from childhood) are irrelevant. It’s just ego trying to hold onto those differences. I saw past that resistance, so maybe that was a release?
On the other hand, this random nausea and vomiting made me feel physically powerless today, and also somewhat scared. I wonder if it happened to bring the feelings of powerlessness and fear to the surface?
Also, I know that I mailed you several days ago about that big negative health manifestation. I was gonna see the doctor, but I think this time is better spent studying, after all. I have been taking care of my body since then, in order not to exert it too much like that night. However, even if I did have some major disease, then it was created by resistance, and it can get resolved as long as I release the resistant energy that created it, right?
I’m just very curious now about why I keep getting various physical ailments, and why I am often so physically tired.
Hi Z,
Yes, I think it is a tool to bring up your resistance, as you said. Often whatever needs to happen in order to trigger us, will happen.
As I always say about your health, it’s safer to see a doctor. I’m not in the place to give medical advice.
Regarding your question, in theory one could heal from a major disease with manifestation, but it’s an entirely new level of inner work. It’s harder because you have that disease there as a constant reminder of the negative manifestation.
Thank you again. I guess that these physical ailments happen then specifically to challenge me, to make me doubt that I’m doing okay. They make me feel powerless, scared and can even push me as far to lose every hope sometimes.
By the way, according to Melody, exhaustion is one of the symptoms of ascension. What do you think about that? Is that possible what’s been going on with me?
Hi Z,
I’ll be honest, I’m not a big believer in “ascension” as many new-age people describe it. It’s just never resonated for me.
I do think that when you are going through a period of intense spiritual growth, there will be physical symptoms that match it, and this is what people often refer to as “ascension”. In the east I suspect they’d say it might b due to Kundalini rising and bringing all these issues to the surface. I’m not convinced that’s the case with you, because you don’t seem to have the traditional symptoms of Kundalini awakening.
But I agree the symptoms are meant to reflect your resistance back to you, and they’re doing quite a good job of it. 🙂

Okay, so as a good pupil of yours, I feel that I should give you some updates again. So, one of my short-term goals is the same one that I had as a monthly goal, a weekly goal, and also as a goal without a time limit. And the goddamn thing won’t manifest no matter what! It’s pretty much believable, I usually feel very good when I think about it, I choose it every night, but it just won’t freaking manifest. It just refuses to manifest for me! Also, my life is so freaking boring. Usually you ask me where my focus has been lately. Believe it or not, I was focused on love that I feel towards myself and the world, as well as on how I’m becoming a better person. Still, my everyday life is so lame.
Also, lectures ended recently, and it’s a month period of exams. I don’t get to see my colleagues much anymore, and therefore my goal of enjoying friends is temporarily dead, since I’m alone every day.
You taught me how to play this game, and I learned how to play it. However, I have a broken controller. A controller that refuses to work. I can’t manifest something wanted, yet believable for the love of god. Even though I’ve been focusing on it for quite a while. I have no power as a creator, because my creations refuse to come to existence. I’m not an idiot, I can clearly see that I’m not achieving anything really. My life now is not okay. It should be filled with a new joy every day, it should be expanding, flourishing, thriving. I was accepting it for what it was, while directing the energy to where I would prefer to be, but enough is enough.
As for that short term goal, all 10 keys that you mentioned in the class are in place. Yet it strongly refuses to manifest. It’s like I have some kind of spiritual kidney stone, or spiritual constipation. I can keep trying to manifest something all I want, but it’s in vain. The energy isn’t really moving. There’s something actively blocking my powers, and I don’t know what it is. Without the ability to deliberately create something, life TRULY has no meaning for me. Everything’s useless and pointless. What’s the point in life if every night I go to sleep while feeling love for myself and the world, feeling gratefulness, I and I keep waking up to a boring, unchanged life? I don’t know what to do anymore. I could keep focusing on my goals, and releasing resistance, like I have been doing, but 10 years will pass, and they still wouldn’t have manifested. I’m not an idiot, I clearly see that something’s broken here.
Hi Z,
Are you able to tell me what that short-term goal is? How do you focus on it every day?
Also, if you keep expecting to have a boring life, well, you will have a boring life. The Universe gives you what you expect. You need to turn your attention to things that are fun and exciting about your life, no matter how few they may be.
It’s a new jacket, which looks and feels exactly as I’d like it too. I wanted such winter jacket a year ago and it didn’t manifest. And now the same thing. My current jacket is not so pretty, it’s a bit too small for me, so it’s choking sometimes when I’m wearing a warmer shirt underneath, and also it’s not warm enough for harsh winter days like today. I’ve seen other people with similar jackets and I almost always felt good about it. I acknowledged it with positive emotions, and then entered the zero state. I wouldn’t even call this a next level goal. It’s a glorified current level goal. And nothing still.
It’s not that my life has no meaning unless I get this jacket. But why can’t I manifest something so simple? It’s still inspiring, and a bit challenging, since I don’t have money for it, and I haven’t seen such a jacket being sold either. It’s a direct bitchslap in my face as a deliberate creator.
Also, I wouldn’t say I expect that my life is boring. For example, I’ve been finding new joys in studying for exams. Joys that I didn’t previously feel. And still, today when I went out to eat, the realization of the general boredom slayed me. I guess the improvement here would be that I don’t blame the Universe. I don’t even think that LOA doesn’t work. I’m sure it does, but as I said, I feel like my controller specifically is broken, so I can’t play the game. I want to be able to play the game, but the buttons I’m pushing result in nothing lol.
Maybe I need to experience clinical death, and then get resuscitated. Like a frozen PC, you need to turn it off and then on again, so it can start working properly.
Hi Z,
It is not a current level goal if you are having trouble manifesting it, no matter how easy you think it should be. It is definitely a next level goal, and so requires changes in your subconscious structures.
Your controller is not broken. You are just still learning how to use it. The law of attraction works equally for everyone.
So tell me, how are you manifesting this jacket? And, what are your thoughts and feelings when you think about it? When you think about the current not-as-nice jacket?
Thank you a lot, Brandon. I didn’t set a how for the jacket, nor any limitations on how it might come. Long ago I had some limitation set, but now it’s been open for all doors, for quite some time. Whenever I think about it (well except for today, since today I had a massive depression, but it’s almost over now), I feel good. I also usually appreciate my current jacket, because it does keep me somewhat warm, and it’s doing its best.
Regarding journaling, how long (how many minutes) do you spend on each goal? I know that for just visualizing you said a few seconds, but for journaling it has to be at least few minutes per goal, right? Unless you type at the speed of a lightning.
So, I guess that while journaling, resistance will come up, but I should continue writing, while focusing on the story I’m writing, and deliberately choosing it?
I am getting ideas now of what could have been wrong with my intending so far. One hint is that I would rarely feel resistance while focusing on my goal in zero state. I would get a lot of resistance during the day, but not at the time of intending. Another possibility is that my feeling wasn’t of “having”, but of “wanting”. I’m not sure about this one. I think that journaling might clear up some things for me.
Hi Z,
Okay, sounds good. Have you deliberately chosen to have your jacket? or do you simply want it?
Have you thought that perhaps this depression today was the process of transformation to becoming aligned with your goal? Resistance can be a good thing; it doesn’t mean failure.
I journal for a few minutes—maybe 2 or 3 minutes, or more. Depends on how much into the story I am.
It’s okay if you don’t feel resistance in the zero state. The only thing that really matters is how you deal with the resistance once it arises.
It’s very possible you could be focused on wanting rather than having. I remember a question used in the Sedona Method: “Do I want this goal, or do I have it?” See which one you’re closer to.
By resistance, I mean for my long-term goals. For jacket I didn’t get much, if any resistance.
You didn’t get much resistance, but obviously it all came through at once today, from the sound of it. That is a good sign, when resistance starts arising. It is the transmutation process to turn you into the person who can receive your goal.
I think this question hit something. To describe it accurately, I see that the jacket isn’t here now, but I choose to have it. However, choosing to have it still implies that it’s still not in my possession. Usually when I see someone with a jacket that resembles the one I want, I feel positive feelings, admire how beautiful it is, and feel like, “it’s coming, it’s near! I’ll have it no matter what!”. Although this is a bit confusing. Is what I just described good? I mean, those feelings and thoughts correspond to the creative tension. Seeing the precursor of what’s definitely close, but also noticing that it isn’t here yet. If instead I thought, “I have it already”, then that would be sugarcoating, right?
I’ve chosen it, and I’ll get it, even if it costs me my life! I’m not gonna stop until it’s in my possession! I am supposed to be able to deliberately create and have what I want, so I’m reclaiming my right to do so! And of course, it pisses me off when I see that that’s till enough, however I might be on to something now.
Also, to be honest, I did set the time limit to be last night. So when last night came, and I noticed that once again it didn’t manifest, I started getting down. However I amazingly decided that that’s not gonna stop me, and that it WILL be mine. I managed to focus on it in a good way before sleep, and then went to sleep. Today’s morning was pretty okay, I even had fun with studying. But then I was going out to get something to eat, and then I remembered how the jacket is still not here, and how that pesky sound is still active every 10 (or even 5 sometimes) minutes. Then I remembered that I’m basing my confidence of passing exams, having friends, and creating a beautiful life, on my ability as a deliberate creator. However noticing that I couldn’t create something simple as a jacket immediately made me wonder how can I possibly expect then to achieve my challenging long-term goals? Everything just crumbled for me with that realization. Until today, I was amazed at my own transformation as a human, and knew that all the suffering had it’s purpose in shaping me towards the future. I was sure that a powerful new life has been unfolding. However the realization of not being able to manifest something simple killed all of this. I feel much better now though, and want to make it work.
Hi Z,
Choosing to have it is enough. No, you should not pretend to have it when you don’t, except for when journaling. But it’s just a difference in feeling: a lack, wanting feeling, or a full, having feeling.
I think you’re doing great. Just don’t let those moments of depression get you down. They are transforming you.
Thanks, I’ll keep trying! I’m not willing to stop until I get this working. This life should be a big game for exploring, not a big wall of bricks.
I’m sorry, I’d just like to ask you one more thing regarding journaling. Do you do it only at night, while during the day you just quickly get into the feeling of your goals? Or do you journal twice a day?
Correct. I do it once per day. Well, not always, but when I do it, it’s once per day. 🙂 Sometimes I’m lazy and just intend my goals while brushing my teeth before bed, lol.
Actually you know what? I finally got to listen to the last spiritual support call. Actually I’m still listening to it. You mentioned journaling, and that’s something I haven’t yet tried. I know that Melody talked about “Letter to the Universe”, which is similar in the way that we write (or type) things down, grounding it in the reality. I’m gonna try that. Do you journal for each of your goal, every night? Or just the main one?
Another thing I forgot. Do you use creative tension while journaling? I know that you mentioned that in the journal you write as if you already have something, so you’re getting into the feeling of it. However doesn’t that mean that you’re not using creative tension during journaling, then?
The process of feeling that positive feeling will naturally set up creative tension. After your journaling is done, your subconscious mind will still notice that it’s not here. It’s not something you have to focus on too much. Just don’t lie to yourself about where you are now. After the journaling is done, there is no more pretending that it’s already done. It’s just for that limited amount of time while journaling.
I love journaling. You can do it for multiple goals, but as always, each one takes a lot of energy.

Today it took a lot of time and effort to get myself out of bed. I was extremely depressed. The depression went on for the most of the day. After a long time I finally managed to regain my hope and resolution to keep on. I started studying, but that damn sound in my neighbor’s apartment beeps every 5 minutes, and it especially stresses me out during studying, because it disturbs my concentration. My neighbor is absent, he’s in hospital now, so there’s no-one inside, but the damn water heater keeps beeping non-stop, every 5 minutes. I have asked the landlord a few times already to resolve this problem, but he still hasn’t done anything. I feel so much powerlessness and anger, even my abdomen is very contracted and the pain is arising. After finally getting out of deadly depression, this is killing me now. I feel awful now, and it’s soon time to choose my goals, but how can I do that when the damn sound beeps every 5 minutes and causes a lot of stress for me?
Hi Z,
I think you’ll find a great answer to your question in the support call I’ll post soon. We discussed removing your focus from the negative.
But basically, you need to make peace with this, and stop resisting it so much. I know that is difficult, but that is what you need to do.
I can’t express how much I want to reach a stable point in life where I can finally say that my life is pretty good. I am actually always surprised when such big depression hits me hard all of a sudden, after a period where I was feeling okay. I am always surprised that there’s still so much pain left inside of me, where I though that I cleared it. One day when I get money, I’d like to have Akashic reading done by you. I am really interested in why I’ve been suffering so much in this life, especially the theme of constantly being lonely and feeling abandoned. That’s the biggest theme in my life, and there’s an ocean of pain that’s been with me in this area, for all these years.

Hi, Z.
I think my situation is a bit like your situation, especially the parts you say about yourself is a child that don’t want to grow up and feel weird when you act something different, recently i have join a class of public speaking, i have taken few presentation, and some of them even get good reviews because i doing quite good at writing chinese poems, the class is chinese class, i’m a chinese from Malaysia. But the ego quickly say like that, “Loon, you’re not that kind of person, you can’t be that kind of person, you’re so fake, you’re not be yourself, because in the past decades you didn’t live like any other person, you don’t have the experiences.” It seems like i must choose to be what person based on my experience if i want to be comfortable, yes i’m a shy guy especially doing something new in front of people, not just when i facing the girls, but every people around me. I can’t maintain eye contact with people. And also for the dropshipping website i have created recently with shopify, i still struggling when write something not based on my experience, i don’t know how to make it interesting as i have emotionless numb too, so i just move a little step and rest for few days, and again and again.
I am a wife, a mother to three very spoiled animals, a business owner, a salesperson and a student. My life has been turned upside down. I have another agent using manipulation on my husband to give his time and effort to close her deals and still received anywhere from 50-70% of the commissions. But, if I say anything, he tells me I am jealous of her because she has somewhat taken over who I use to be. Not in those words but close. The IRS has audited us for 2013-14 and pretty much wiped out our accounts. I have gained over 50 pounds. I am barely passing my class I am taking even I study, have tutoring and my professor is accommodating. And, top of all this my dad is not doing well, he lives in Tucson, Arizona. I have three younger siblings and one lives with him. I have been to several Jerry and Esther Hicks the Law of Attraction seminars and have practiced their method. I seem to be spiraling down more and more and I have gotten to the point that part I just don’t know what I am doing in this world if all I do is grow a little and fall twice as hard.
Hi Pati,
I’m sorry you’re going through that.
The place I’d begin, though, is by trying to find some way to feel better. You’re certainly practiced about telling the problem you have, but that only brings you into the problem orientation even more.
So what’s one thing that’s going right? Or, how can you soften this whole story a bit to not feel so bad to you?
Hi,
so i tried manifesting marrying my ex we didn’t have problems and we kept in touch but we broke up because of distance and that we couldn’t move forward with it, so after one month of manifesting (we didn’t talk in 3 months of that) he contacted me to tell me that he’s leaving the country and he’ll get married once he’s there, is that resistence ? I blocked him everywhere and just accepted it. I’m trying not to react but it’s alwayas in the back of my mind, should i just drop this one?
Hi Jiji,
It sounds like you are overly attached. You certainly won’t get results that way. He has free will so there are no guarantees, but you must detach yourself.
