I’ve been talking about subconscious structures quite a bit in the context of creating your own reality. However, I haven’t given a ton of detail on what exactly I mean by these subconscious structures, and how you can use them to manifest your desires.
The truth is that they are vitally important. They define the path of energy flow towards your manifestation. If the proper subconscious structures aren’t in place, you’ll find yourself running into obstacle-after-obstacle.
What are they? How can you generate subconscious structures that are useful for you? That’s what I’ll cover in this post.
The Law of Attraction: A Misnomer
There’s a critical misunderstanding that many people have about the law of attraction. I think it comes down to the name: it has “attraction” in the name, so it seems like it is purely about attracting to you what you are a match to yourself. And actually this is somewhat true, but it is also leaving out a lot of information.
If I could go back in time and get the law of attraction renamed, I would try to name it something like, “the law of energy flow,” or “the law of structure,” or even “the law of embodiment.” These elements describe the act of creation a lot more than “attraction.”
Yes, it is true that your outer reality will reflect your inner reality. But, that’s somewhat like saying gravity means that you are held down on the Earth. That’s true, of course, but it only technically answers the question. But it doesn’t answer the question, “So how can we fly?”
Similarly, the law of attraction explains why your current outer reality is exactly the way it is right now: because it is reflecting your inner reality. But, it doesn’t explain exactly how you can change that. Just saying, “by changing your inner reality,” doesn’t really effectively define the process, just like saying, “by counteracting the effect of gravity” doesn’t help you figure out flight. Yes, that is true, but, well, how?
Your Manifestations Are Determined by Energy Flow
That’s how subconscious structures can help us. They allow us to define in a clearer way the exact process of creation.
In The Art of Reality Creation, I try to help the students of that course to think about the law of attraction differently. Instead of attraction, we think of it as energy flow, and even define the various stages that energy progresses through.
The fact is that your manifestation is determined by energy flow. That might seem rather abstract at first, but once you get a feel for the energy of a manifestation, you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Energy Flows Where Attention Goes
There’s this common saying, “Energy flows where attention goes,” and it’s absolutely true. As you focus on your goal, you are flowing more energy towards the manifestation of that goal. Similarly, as you put your focus on something unwanted, you are flowing more energy towards that unwanted manifestation.
So, if you focus on abundance, you flow more energy towards abundance, and subsequently you manifest more abundance. But if you instead focus on lack, you flow energy towards lack, and subsequently you manifest more lack. That’s basic, I know, but starting with the basics will help us to build upon a sturdy foundation.
So this is where we get the idea of the law of attraction. Wherever you put your focus most often, that is where you flow the most energy, and so it is also what tends to manifest most in your outer reality.
So this gives us a part of the answer to the question, how can you create your own reality? If more (emotional) focus equals more manifestation, then changing your focus has to be part of what changes the manifestation, right?
Right. But, as always, there’s more to the puzzle than that.
Example: Rivers Are Defined by Their Structure
Imagine a river for a moment. It’s source might be a mountain stream, for example. It’s destination will generally be the ocean. But with only knowing its source and destination, we don’t know much about it.
To learn more about this river, we must know its structure. The flow of the river is defined by its structure: its rate of flow, its calmness or turbulence, whether it has waterfalls and how big those waterfalls are, etc.
What is the structure of the river? It’s the riverbed—the landscape it flows through If there are cliffs, there is going to be a waterfall. If there’s a steep slope, there’s going to be faster flow. The terrain defines how the river flows through the landscape. Once we know the terrain, we know the river more intimately, and can predict its movements.
Subconscious Structures Define the Energy Flow
It’s the same when it comes to manifestation. The source is, well, the Universe. The destination is your goal. But, as before, with only those two bits of information, we know very little about the flow of energy, and therefore about the manifestation.
So what’s the structure of your manifestation? It is what I call subconscious structures. These subconscious structures define the flow of your energy: how smooth it is, how much resistance you run into, and much more.
Just having a goal, on its own, doesn’t do anything. Saying that you want to create some specific goal in outer reality doesn’t mean that there’s the structure to bring you to that goal.
Structures Are Everywhere
You see the glacier in the feature image of this post, flowing around the mountains. Those mountains define the structure of the glacier: it’s not flowing over the mountain, or through it. It’s flowing around them.
There are many other examples. Imagine there’s a two-story building. You’re on the first floor, and want to get to the second. But imagine in our odd little building, there is no elevator, and no stairs, either. The fact that you want to get to the second floor doesn’t mean that the structure is in place to get to that floor.
Now say there are stairs, because our architect was sensible. But, you have the idea that you’d rather jump up through the ceiling. Again, the structure doesn’t allow for that. It only allows one path from the first floor to the second floor.
Structures may at times appear limiting, but they are useful to define the best way to get from point A to point B. A river wants to get to the ocean, and is going to find the best structure for doing so.
Similarly, your subconscious structures will define if you can get to your goal given the current structure, and if so, the best way to get there.
What Are Subconscious Structures?
So, enough talk of how subconscious structures work. What exactly are they?
Part of it is the beliefs you hold in your subconscious mind. You believe, perhaps, that money is difficult to obtain, so the structure necessitates that you struggle to get money.
But it’s not only that; it is far broader. Your subconscious structures are the way you think on a day-to-day basis. It is your comfort zone—your status quo.
For example, even if you believe there is plenty of money, it doesn’t mean you have the subconscious structures to be a millionaire, or a billionaire. Maybe you’re making $50,000 a year and feeling pretty abundant. But, the subconscious structures that allow you to make that amount per year are not going to permit you to make a million dollars per year. It’s just not going to happen in their current form.
So it’s more than belief. It’s how you think. It’s what you’re used to. It’s what you’ve allowed yourself to dream of thus far.
Subconscious Structures Are What Is Easy for Us
You generally know what your subconscious structures are by what feels easy to you. Is it easy for you to have enough money? Is it easy for you to meet nice people? Is it easy for you to have healthy relationships? Is it easy for you to do work you enjoy? These are your subconscious structures. They are easy because your structures allow for them to be easy.
Or, is it easy for you to be anxious? Is it easy for you to struggle to pay the bills? Is it easy for you to fight with your spouse? Is it easy for you to hate your job? These, too, are your subconscious structures, and define the results you get in life.
Another definition for subconscious structures are the structures that allow you to get your current level goals. Your current level goals are the goals that your subconscious structures make it easy for you to attain with barely any effort.
So when you are given the advice to just let go of your manifestation, you are essentially surrendering to your current subconscious structures, and will continue to get what you have always gotten, because those are your current level goals. Next level goals require new structures, and therefore forging a new path to that goal.
You Can Change Your Subconscious Structures
This is the other piece to the puzzle I discussed at the beginning of this post. I said that part of creation is changing your focus to things you’d rather have more of in your reality—that is, flowing more energy towards your goals.
But that leaves out the most vital part of the process: the structure of that flow. If you’re in that building without stairs, and you keep trying to get to the second floor, you’re going to fail. The intention to get to the second floor is not enough to actually get there. The structure has to support that intention.
Luckily, you can change the structure. Rivers change the structure of the landscape all the time, as have glaciers. They have a destination, and will create the structure to get there.
But keep in mind, if your subconscious structures need to be changed, it is by definition a next level goal. If your current structures can’t comfortably produce your goal, then it is not a current level goal.
Your Goals Shape Your Subconscious Structures
I said before that just having a goal doesn’t mean your subconscious structures will support that goal. This is why I’ve had you deliberately choose your goals. This deliberate choice, meaning you commit yourself to your goal, will set up the creative tension that compels you to reach that goal.
Your past goals have shaped your subconscious structures, and your current goals are shaping them now. Every time you wanted more, and then you got more, your subconscious structures adapted to accommodate that new level. It made that goal easier to manifest in the future.
As you choose that goal, your energy starts pushing against the existing structures, and of course they push back. This is resistance. But as you hold that goal, and make it more important than your current subconscious structures, your structures will yield to your inner vision and reform themselves to be more in alignment with what you want.
Forging a Path to Your Goal
When you shape your subconscious structures like this, you are quite literally forging a path to your goal. As it is right now, your subconscious structures don’t permit the goal. But, because you are a creator, you hold the goal anyway, and forge a path through your current structures to reach that goal.
That’s why we welcome resistance, not try to escape from it. When you feel that resistance, you know you are reshaping your subconscious structures to create a path to your goal. As the path forms, the resistance diminishes and dissolves. But, any time you must create a new path, there’s going to be initial resistance, because your subconscious structures don’t want to go in this new direction.
When resistance arises, don’t push against it. Welcome it, realizing that this is the process of clearing the path to your goal. This is allowing you to step into the next level—the level at which your goal is possible, and even easy. But you must forge the path, first.
Your Subconscious Structures are Fluid
Your subconscious structures are fluid, though it doesn’t always seem so. They are meant to make your current level easy, but they are also meant to be changeable, if you approach them in the right way.
Most people bang their heads against their current structures, completely believing in their permanence. They’ll say, “I’m just not cut out for this,” or “I’m just not meant to achieve my dream.” But if you believe in your subconscious structures, you give them permanent reality. You make them concrete, like that building without stairs.
You can change your structures. It just requires you to hold the vision of your goal despite your current subconscious structures not making that easy. Instead of letting your structures define you, you define your structures. That is living as a creator.
How to Change Your Subconscious Structures
So how do you change your subconscious structures to manifest your desires?
It requires:
- Focusing on the goal despite your current resistance
- Embracing resistance as a positive sign that the path to your goal is being formed
- Progressively envisioning your goal daily, along with the feeling of having that goal
As you get closer and closer to that goal, it’ll become easier and easier to focus on it, and to fully embody it.
Right now, this very moment, you can’t fully embody your goal. You might be able to for a few seconds, or even minutes, but eventually your subconscious structures will push back. But every time you focus on that goal again, and work on embodying the feeling of it again, you get a bit closer. You clear out a bit more of that path.
This is why next level goals require daily focus, even a few times a day if you can handle it without obsessing. Your continual focus will shape that path, day-after-day, until you finally arrive. This is the resistance mode I just discussed recently in my post on freedom from resistance. By forging that path, you clear the way to the next level. Then, in the release mode, it’s now easy to achieve the same thing you had before. Your subconscious structures already accommodate that goal, so they will support you in maintaining it.
The Process of Creation
This is the process of creation. It’s setting the goal, forging the path to that goal, then enjoying the new energy pathway which supports the continuation of your goal. That’s the complete story of how the law of attraction works, at least in broad details.
If you want the rest of the details, then check out my course, The Art of Reality Creation. You’ll learn specific techniques for releasing resistance and forging that path, as well as a more well-defined process for reaching your next level goals.
How About You?
Now it’s your turn. How are you forging pathways to your next level goals? Are you embracing resistance as part of that process? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I haven’t achieved anything despite all my work on this stuff over months.
Hi CJ,
Guessing from your comments here, but it sounds like you have a lot, lot of resistance. When your subconscious structures push back, you have to let that energy flow through and keep embodying the goal you want.
there’s no taming my thoughts. They just happen regardless of what I do, with a power to cause excruciating pain. I don’t do them, they do me.
Only because you fight against them and think of them as undesirable. Make all energy that arises acceptable, and it’ll dissolve. Judgment of that energy perpetuates it.
Yes, this is how I’ve done it in the past and how it’s been explained to me by those leading their dream life. They literally forged it on their own via their will and blatantly told me not to give in to doubts about my resume or whatnot, whatever “buts” I tell them that supposedly block my path.
I’d still like to know what you think about Forrest Gump, though. Was he a zen creator? Other than love, he really didn’t have any particular goals per se, yet he was very successful.
Kat, I’ve always wanted to ask you if you’ve been setting monthly goals, and how it has been going. So far I know that Brandon, Lisa and Justin had success with it. I’d like to hear more experiences to encourage me 😛
To be honest Z, reading the blog posts and listening to the calls have helped tremendously in my journey, so that is why I tune in regularly. It is my point of reference, so to speak, since I don’t meditate. My energy is really lifted and the current goals come to fruition.
The big ass goals or whatever we call them, I’m still working on. I get teary-eyed just writing this, but not sure if they are tears of joy or happiness, just hopeful emotion, so to me this is a good thing. It’s actually all good. I actually had a dream of the other goal last night! So that’s another thing I do, I am aware of and acknowledge the signs that come to me and thank the Universe pretty much all the time, no matter how big or small the sign or manifestation. Even when doubts come up, I ask the Universe to help in easing them, as they are triggered by outside forces, not my own. I’m in constant communication with Source, in other words.
One of the biggest things I do is that I hang out with successful people, or at least the ones whose life I’d like to sort of live like. I stopped hanging with the powerless, the complainers, the preachers to me, although they did once serve their purpose, they no longer fit in my life. And I also made peace with I’d rather be successful than popular. I can be both but if I had to choose one, I’d be successful. By successful I mean living the life I want and enjoying it.
I see, thanks for letting me know. I hope your goals get realized soon, in a beautiful way. 🙂
Hi, Z. I thought you might like an update, if you’re curious.
By the end of December, I had met my financial goal for that month. I backslid on my weight loss goal (holidays, right? lol) so that I made negative progress. (I really didn’t do the daily visualizing thing for it, either, though–I did it once or twice a week instead of every day.) I didn’t make any progress on my business goal.
For January, I’ve already met my January financial goal, and it’s only the 13th. So that is going great. I’m eager to see if I can meet my other goals as well. I’ve been focusing more on the business goal, making sure I do the visualizing for that at least once a day, sometimes twice. Honestly, I’ve had trouble doing the visualizations for the weight loss goal this month, since I still feel pretty bad about last month! I suppose that’s just more resistance and fuel for the fire. 😉
Anyway, clearly I am making lots of mistakes, haha, but something is happening. At the very least, I’m better off with respect to my long-term goals than I would have been if I hadn’t been doing these monthly things. It’s frustrating when you don’t make your monthly goal, but I think I’m still better off for trying.
I meant that I hadn’t done the weight loss visualization much in December. I did do the other ones in December.
Hey, Lisa!
That’s wonderful, congratulations! 😀 Also, thank you for letting me know.
It’s great that you’ve had such fabulous financial successes, that’s really inspiring. I think we’ve all “enjoyed” our holidays too much with food xD. I’m sure you’ll manage to achieve your weight goals as well, especially as we’re moving from winter to spring.
I hope everything goes well with your current goals, and that you have a lot of fun! Keep informing us about any new success, if you feel inclined to. 🙂
Hi Kat,
Thanks for your comment. Sorry, hectic day yesterday and forgot about your comment on the other post.
I actually never saw the movie, though I’ve definitely heard of it.
But, next level goals don’t always have to look like struggle from the outside. From the outside, it might look like everything’s great. But, there’s always going to be that slight discomfort when it comes to the things that are desired.
If things come easily, it just means that there’s a lot of trust in the Universe, and, well, as we know, the things that don’t matter to us that much are the things to come really easily.
Okay, so after cutting the number of my goals down to 3, certain worries have popped up inside of me, so I now have more questions. You said that you don’t recommend that a person has more than 2 or 3 goals at a time. So let’s say a person has 3 applicable slots for goals, at any time. Also, the person has many long-term goals, let’s say 10. So, the person chooses 3 goals (let’s say 2 are long-term, and 1 is short-term), and fills up the 3 available slots. The person keeps focusing on their goal, releasing resistance, etc. But the person really wants those other 8 long-term goals, too! It might take a year or more for one of those 2 long-term goals currently in the filled slots to come to fruition, and that’s too long to wait for a slot to free up. Having those other 8 long-term goals on hold is unpleasant. The time is passing by. So what is the person to do?
So, back to me, I really chose my 3 current goals optimally, in my opinion. I would give them the highest priority out of those initial 9. However, having dropped certain goals made me feel uneasy. I really want them, but the current slots are filled. So what am I to do now? Stick with the current 3 goals and shut down those others? That feels bad. Or, bring back those other goals, but then get overwhelmed, or simply having barely any energy moving? There must be some 3rd option.
What does a person do, when they want so much, but having to wait for those slots to open up is excruciating?
Hi Z,
It sounds to me like you are approaching some of these goals from the problem orientation. You want so badly to be out of your situation, and you think these goals are the key.
Because, as creators, we only have so much energy for so many creations at once. An artist doesn’t try to do 10 paintings, or when he can’t, say, “I really am so impatient to do these other paintings!” he might have ideas for the future, but he’d do what’s in front of him first, then move on to the next.
When I was playing the piano, there were pieces I was excited to learn, but it was just an anticipatory kind of excited. I didn’t need to do it right now.
Get comfortable with your current reality. There’s no shortcut around that. Make these goals creations, not solutions. Remember key #2 of the course. 🙂
As you approach a goal, though, you can let the momentum carry you, and start to put some of your focus on another goal. So it really doesn’t have to take all that long.
No, actually I’m not talking about problem oriented goals. Here are some of my long term goals that I’m currently not focusing on, and which are not problem oriented: to be strong and muscled, to draw (and have inspiration for it), to learn a foreign language A (and have inspiration for it), to learn a foreign language B (there’s even more languages). I don’t see these goals as problem oriented, but beautiful creation. However right now they are waiting for a free slot to open, so they can start being focused on.
There’s also a big goal of having the face I desire (which will most likely include some sort of surgery). This goal might be problem oriented at least a bit, but I’ve been able to view it more and more as creating the true expression of myself through my face. Creating the face that expresses me properly.
So as you can see, this is what’s going on. How to say “no” to those beautiful creations put on hold?
Hi Z,
I’d say just focus on them generally. When they come up, just feel good about them and let them go. You won’t see tons of momentum, though the ones with not too much resistance may move along a bit. But at least you can tell your subconscious mind that these are important to you.
Thanks. I’ll try that for now, I guess.
I haven’t achieved anything despite all my work on this stuff over months.
Hi CJ,
Guessing from your comments here, but it sounds like you have a lot, lot of resistance. When your subconscious structures push back, you have to let that energy flow through and keep embodying the goal you want.

Awesome post as always! I have a question though…
How do you explain the lottery winners? I’m sure not all of them spend a long time visualizing in this area, and a lot of them seem really surprised when they won (signalling that this is a next level goal) – so is visualization even necessary for manifestation?
Also, is getting into the vibrational signature of what you want has to be specific to your goal? For example, if I visualize something else (not related to my goal) and that evokes the same feeling in me as my goals, can that still help the manifestations of my goals?
Hi Indigo,
No, visualization isn’t required. There are many other methods as well: affirmations, journaling, vision boards, etc.
Most likely, they spent a long time thinking about what it’d be like to have more money, or allowing that desire to flow through them. Even just imagining or thinking about your future as you’d like it to be is a form of visualizing.
Regarding your second question, it should be on the same subject at least. So abundance won’t necessarily increase if you feel better about relationships, and vice versa. If you feel better overall, then your current level goals will be a lot easier.
Thanks Brandon.
I have started doing the daily visualization/affirmation/journal thing twice as suggested by your blog. However, I’ve also noticed that throughout the day, I spontaneously visualize my goals anyways (without my conscious effort). Like when I’m driving, my mind just spontaneously goes to a happy place where I’ve already achieved my goal.
My question is, do the spontaneous visualizations help my manifestations even more than if I just did them twice a day? And are the “twice a day” visualizations even necessary in my case?
Hi Indigo,
Yes, I do the same thing. 🙂
Yes, it is helping your manifestation. Any time you feel good about your goal is helping your subconscious mind to associate your goal with positive emotions, and then it will want to pursue that goal.
But yes the twice a day is necessary as well. That is your heavy lifting, so to speak. That’s when you allow the resistance to come up and really work through that. They serve two different purposes.
OOoh ok I see thanks. So the more visualizations the better but just make sure you are not obsessing over them and if you naturally do them then all the better?
PS: this is not related but I was wondering for the email question/reading, if you can help me find a lost object?
Hi Indigo,
Exactly right.
I’ve not done many lost object readings myself, but I’d bet Justin could help you. He’s open for email readings if you’re interested. I can just forward your request over to him if you get a reading. 🙂
oooh who is Justin is he psychic/a remote viewer?
He’s our other reader. Yes he’s another psychic. I think he has more experience with lost objects. He was on the last podcast, if you heard that one.
Oooh yes I remmeber him. Before I book, could you just ask him to make sure he is good with these kinds of questions? Thanks!
He said his expertise is also not in lost objects unfortunately. I will say that just from what you’ve said here, I feel it is something that won’t be lost very long. Can I ask the nature of this object? Feel free to email me if you prefer.
Aww thats okay. It is my keys (both house and car), and there’s a key chain on there too…
Thank you Brandon! I will still pay you if I find them, I’ll let you know!!
Hi Indigo.
Yup, I originally came here from Melody’s blog which I haven’t read in a while.
I don’t know anyone here in real life, but it would be great if we all met for coffee! ☕️
Hey Indigo, this is just a suggestion, but you can put something as your avatar picture like Kat and me, if you want. You’d just need to go to gravatar com, and add some image, less than 1MB in size, I think. You would use the same e-mail there as the one you are using here, so gravatar could link it and so the avatar would show up here.
Thanks I’ll look into that 🙂 Do you and Kat know Brandon in real life or did you guys come to this site from Melody Fletcher too?
I don’t know him in real life (we live on different continents, actually 😛 ), but yeah, I was also mostly following Melody’s blog. Brandon helped me there several times, so I decided to check his blog out. It was a very good idea.
I think Kat also doesn’t know him in real life, but I’m not sure, maybe she replies.
Nope, I don’t know Kat in real life, either. 🙂 I think I might know Christine, though. 😛
What does the “progressively” mean in “#3–Progressively envision your goal daily”? Do you mean add a little more to it each time you do it? Or do it in parts throughout the day, like scene1 in the morning, scene 2 at midday, etc.? I’m not sure how to progressively envision.
Really what it means is to get deeper and deeper into the vision. Each time you do it, you’ll embody it a bit more, and your vision will become clearer. That’s what I mean about progressive visualization.
Okay, that’s much clearer. Thank you!

It is my keys (both house and car), and there’s a key chain on there too…
I’ll give you my impressions. No charge, since I don’t have a lot of practice with it.
Intuitive flash: I immediately saw them on some hard-surfaced floor, perhaps in a small room. There’s not much around them, besides maybe a tall table or shelf.
I pulled a card and got the Nine of Cups, which is called Happiness. This confirms for me you’ll find them quickly. Try not to panic or obsess over it.
Thank you!
Z, what I do is get into my z state, and see which gole stirs my emotions the most. I don’t get attached it, but I just feel it, almost like a thrum on a guitar string, or in this case, upon my soul. I zero in on it, then begin my process. Sometimes, you have to get quiet and focus while in that state to see which gola is something you really want, and what you want to spend time on.
Hey, Justin! Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it.
Z, I meant that it get into my zero state.
Justi, not my z staten
Lisa, great job on the monthly goals.
Great post Brandon??. Thanks for explaining subconscious mind basics. I really learned a lot from this post. Just knowing name of the term is not enough to actually use in practical. You really need a master to teach you in detail and to make you understand ‘means what’.
I want to ask you that how to remember not to forget? I mean how to practice not to act out of habits ? How to teach your mind not to react. I am struggling with it. I am trying to control reactive behavior but i just don’t remember not to:(.
My 15 months old son is hyperactive and so much work. I get frustrate and run out of patience. Now a days I hardly get time to relax. Lots of things are going on side by side and sometimes it’s too much to take. I just forget not to feel frustrate and angry.
Hey Kat having coffee together sounds great. It will be fun to meet the people whom you only know through words.
Hi Rhea,
I know it’s tough. The first thing is not to beat up on yourself. You’re only human. It’s okay to get frustrated now and again.
But, just take out a few minutes everyday for yourself. Be mindful. Keep track of your inner state. You really just have to build a new habit of self-awareness.
Thank you Brandon ?. I will practice that.

Me being better might create pain in others.
Hi CJ,
You can’t walk on eggshells. Others are on their own path. Don’t intentionally create pain, and their issues are their own. They are creators.

Hi Brandon I have a question,
If an opportunity comes your way that you simply don’t feel very good or excited about, how do you know this is a subconscious limiting belief/fear, or its your intuition telling you this isn’t for you?
Hi Indigo,
Great question. Intuition goes a lot deeper than just ego resistance, if that makes sense. The litmus test I use is that if you enter the zero state, the resistance will disappear, while the intuition will not.

Brandon, you know those people who speak an insane amount of languages, right? They can learn a new language within a month, or even a week. What is going on here, in terms of subconscious structures? Obviously, as for each language they eventually set out to learn, they don’t have any prior knowledge of the language. However they can gain new subconscious structures insanely fast. How? Do you think a normal person could do it too, with the Magus way of using will?
Hi Z,
The person I know of who learns the fastest learns within 3 months. I think the people you refer to who learn within a week, may learn to some proficiency, but certainly not fluency.
And it’s really the same idea. It’s lots, and lots, and lots of practice. I’ve actually studied this subject a great deal, so I’m quite familiar with stories about exactly this. And, well, they spend every free moment of life learning that language. It is their life.
So yes, it is will. It is the determination to learn.
Hmm if you say that it’s really will what it’s all about, then that leads me to the next question. How can we improve our will? What does will depend on? I know that if I’m depressed, then I don’t have will for anything. I also know that if I’m feeling happy, then will can be high at those times. Will being a variable is a problem, in my opinion. Because, even a person who knows how to deliberately create can’t do much if their will is weak. What would you say, how can we influence our will?
Hi Z,
What it takes is a goal that inspires you and drives you forward. Your will isn’t going to be strong unless you have a strong desire for that goal. I think that’s where this thing about having a “burning desire” comes from.

Hey Brandon, so, are steps one and three different from each other?
And I know you and I have discussed our views on uncovering beliefs. So, you don’t believe it’s necessary to uncover and dig up those beliefs any further? Is that correct?.
Granted I’ve already done a lot of work with that in the past with beliefs, lately in my goals for healing (which IS what I am trying to manifest now), I have been simply focusing my visualizations on feeling good in my body, but also living in a warm weather climate with a really nice house by the beach which I have recently included in my visualizations.
And in the process of working with my body, a shit load (as you can imagine) of resistance has arisen in dealing with strong symptoms, and I know the process I am doing with re-programming my subconscious is the key to healing (since countless other people have healed on these protocols). I’ve been tested for any kind of major diseases and they have all been normal. So, with chronic fatigue, this IS the way to go. So, I have just been interrupting my thoughts through mindfulness and continually choosing a different meaning behind it.
It’s almost like, objective reality (what our minds interpret as that) is screaming in my face….”Look at this! There is danger here lol”. And it’s almost like you have to be diligent to be so aware not to believe in that old story. I am choosing new beliefs for myself based on what I know to be true (I am an empowered creator, or I am an infinite being, etc).
Anyway, just wanted to share my own experience recently. The less I question with this process and trust, the more results I see. But, the more I doubt and question, it blocks it more.
Hi Derek,
Both steps are similar. The first just gets the orb growing, and then steps 3-4 helps it to grow with each cycle of the breath. There are many ways of doing it, but this is my favorite.
No, of course you work on the beliefs. But when you’re in the midst of things, it’s hard to immediately. If you’re driving along and get triggered somehow, it’s hard to pause and really look at that. So shield yourself from the start, then later on come back and run through that scenario and see what beliefs come up. The healing comes later—the shielding just prevents further harm in the moment.
Can you just explain what you mean by ‘shielding yourself’? Thanks Brandon!
Oo, so sorry. My fault. I didn’t check what you had responded to. My new post is on magical protection and I assumed you had responded to that. 😮
Okay let’s start over. Are steps 1 and 3 the same? No. Similar, but no. Step 1 is focusing on the goal. Step 3 is progressively improving that focus and embodying the vibrational essence of the goal.
I’m not sure why you thought I said not to work on specific limiting beliefs, though. Can you explain that one?
Sorry, I haven’t read the new post yet. Just catching up on this one now.
I just thought that you were of the mindset of not digging up old beliefs to fix them. Of course, I know that you talk a lot about beliefs, but I was referring to the context of digging them up to find them and fix them. I remember conversations with you where you have stated that this only puts more attention on ‘what’s wrong’ and your podcast for working through beliefs in the zero state seems to imply that too. I don’t know, maybe I mis-interpreted that or perhaps your perspective has shifted on that?
Hi Derek,
Oh I see what you mean now. Well, my view is that your goals will dig up what needs to be dug up. It’ll make active whatever latent resistance you have deep down in the subconscious mind.
My point is this—and it is subtle: our focus should be on the goal, not on removing the resistance to the goal. What you focus on, expands. When you focus on removing the resistance, and you keep looking for more resistance to remove, you just find more resistance.
I don’t think that’s what you’re doing. I think you have this ultimate level goal (see Monday’s post on manifesting the impossible), and that ultimate level goal is dredging up a whole ton of resistance, and you have to work through that. But make your focus healing, not finding more and more resistance to healing. Does that make sense?
Just read the blog…..yes, that pretty much nails it lol. Definitely an ultimate level goal. It’s like a lifelong goal actually as it’s physical and emotional/spiritual healing/awakening and it’s bringing all of the resistance from my life. But, I know I’ll get there by keep following along with your principles and the principles that I’m already following.
Sometimes, I get stuck trying to over analyze my negative thoughts/emotions when really they’re all just based in the same premise of fear, doubt about whether it’s possible, worry, anxiety, etc. When instead other times, I just recognize the resistance as what it is, and realize I don’t have to fear it anymore. It’s there for a reason. And it doesn’t really matter as to the specifics root of the belief, etc, etc. And I just continue to focus on my goal.
I appreciate the feedback. Makes a lot of sense to me.
I think you’re doing great, Derek. I also think you’ll really resonate with this weekend’s podcast. it’s all about the role of emotions.
Brandon, is the podcast up yet for this weekend? Been checking for it, but I don’t see anything.
Hi Derek,
Unfortunately no. It’ll be available later tonight or early tomorrow. We are getting an intro composed for it, and there have been some difficulties with its completion. But we’ll have the intro tonight, so the podcast will come out after that.
Awesome, looking forward to it and thanks so much for the encouragement 🙂

Dear Brandon,
I just want to say that I love your blogs. You honestly explain the complexities of the Law of Attraction in such a way that actually makes it possible for me to work on my goals.
All teachings that I have been following told me to “act and live as if” or just “be happy”,or “let it go” and nothing ever came of that, but it wasn’t until I read your blogs that I could finally change something.
Kind regards,
Petra
