The law of attraction is great when you have the time and the space to focus.
But what do you do when you feel like things are urgent—like problems are pressing in?
How do you apply these same principles of detachment and letting go, when things seem critical?
This is pretty common among those who ask me questions, so I wanted to write a post discussing this topic.
Make Peace with What Is
The first step is to make peace with your current situation.
I know, I know, this isn’t what you want to hear.
“This is a problem!” you want to yell. “I can’t accept it!”
Perhaps not. But I’d recommend trying to find a way of accepting it, because that is the only way of changing it for the better.
Actually, I don’t believe that you can’t accept it. People are incredibly flexible in what they are able to accept.
The truth is, of course, you don’t want to accept it.
This is a problem, and you don’t want it in your life. And that is understandable.
But as I said in Saturday’s webinar about releasing resistance, no matter how hard you wish for it, $100 just can’t turn into $101 right here in this present moment.
In other words, your “problem” can’t be other than it is, right now. Now in as little as a minute, or an hour, or a day, it could be resolved, if you were to totally let go. But right here in the present moment, it is what it is, and no amount of wishing can make it otherwise.
How do you accept what is? There’s really no trick about it. You just have to come to accept this present moment as it is now.
Remember, this present moment is old news, vibrationally speaking. The manifestations you are seeing now are the results of your vibration held in the past. You are seeing the vibrational past in front of you, similarly to how you are seeing starlight from hundreds or thousands of years ago when you look at the night sky.
But by your acceptance, you set the groundwork for a new and better future. As long as you are not accepting, you are just perpetuating the same reality.
There Are No Problems
I told you in last week’s podcast that you simply cannot solve problems with the law of attraction.
It’s true. The Universe simply doesn’t believe you when you tell it you have a problem.
Of course, as long as you believe you have a problem, the law of attraction has to keep bringing you more problems.
But, your higher self isn’t going to be on board with this view of the world. You know this because when you think about having a problem, your emotional guidance system is going to be triggering all sorts of alarms. In other words, it doesn’t feel good when you think about that.
Problems are an ego-based concept. To your true Self, there is no such thing as problems.
I know that to you, problems seem very real. But once you learn who you really are, and how you can really shape your reality, the idea of problems just falls away effortlessly.
Of course, it takes time and experience to realize this for yourself. You cannot get this intellectually. It’s not just a factoid you can pick up, and say, “Oh okay. There are no problems. Got it.”
This has to become part of you. This has to be an inner knowing. It must be something you realize on your own.
But as long as you are persistently believing in your problems, you can never make the openness to stop believing in those problems. Just like with anything else in the law of attraction, as long as you give it your focus, it will just keep growing.
You can’t ask the Universe to prove to you there are no problems. You have to reach this conclusion on your own. You have to make the first move, by creating that openness for a new possibility to enter in.
The Universe Won’t Fix Your Problems
Because the Universe simply doesn’t believe in problems, it won’t come swooping in and fixing them for you.
A lot of people pray to God when they want their problems fixed.
But, the Universe can never, ever, ever give you anything more or less than what you are offering vibrationally. If you are holding the vibration of problems, the Universe simply cannot give you a solution to the problem.
It was Einstein that said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
Therefore, as long as you are vibrating at the level of the problem, you can’t receive the solution into your reality.
Only when you raise your vibration to the level of the solution, will it actually manifest for you.
So, the thing you need to do is to back off from that problem vibration. How do we do this?
Distract Yourself
When something seems really urgent, I’m a big fan of distracting yourself.
If you have time, take a nap, or meditate.
If not, then do something else that feels good. Watch a good movie. Watch funny cat videos. Think about fluffy puppies.
Anything to just distract you.
Now this should be an honest distraction. If you are doing these things, but secretly worrying about this problem in the back of your mind, then it won’t work.
You’ll know when you’ve done it successfully because you feel better when you distract yourself.
No, perhaps this doesn’t solve the problem, but it is still very important.
When you are distracting yourself, you are taking the focus off of that problem vibration.
And when you do that, you are creating openness for the solution to come.
Any time you are feeling better, it is not time wasted. Feeling better is really your #1 goal.
So, distract yourself without guilt. It’s not avoiding the problem. It’s not shirking responsibility. It is making your alignment the most important thing to you.
Find Ways of Feeling Better About the Problem
If it feels safe enough, and isn’t going to trigger major negative momentum, then you might try feeling better about this problem.
I discussed several different techniques for doing this on Saturday’s webinar about releasing resistance. I highly recommend getting the recording, because I go into a lot of detail, and there is even a demonstration at the end.
I’m also developing a library of techniques in my premium membership. This will be a library with even more techniques and practical examples of applying them.
But, essentially, you’ll want to find ways of feeling better by telling a different story about what is.
How can you interpret this situation in a way that isn’t so threatening to you?
For example, if you have a problem like:
I have to pay the rent by this Friday or I’m going to get evicted.
You might try some different stories, like:
- “Maybe the landlord will be understanding if I just give part of it now.”
- “It’s possible money might arrive by then.”
- “Even if I do get evicted, I can always move in with family. It’s maybe not ideal, but it’s something.”
- “I don’t really like this apartment anyway.”
- “What if the Universe is bringing me something even better through this experience?”
- “Really, the Universe has always supported me, even when it looked hopeless.”
You just want to find little ways of softening that focus on the problem, and feeling a little better about it.
Aligning with the Solution
I do this all the time, and it works wonders.
Essentially, you access the feeling of what it would be like if this issue were worked out perfectly.
Don’t try to get into details about how this might happen. We’re just looking for general feelings right now.
Remember, when there is negative momentum, you want to start going general, in order to slow down that negative momentum.
So, just feel the feeling of everything working out. Feel the feeling of the solution coming effortlessly. What would that feel like?
And, just spend a few minutes feeling this feeling. Nothing else is necessary. No visualizations, no affirmations, or anything else. Just feel this feeling of everything working out.
This will kickstart some positive momentum towards what you want, and as long as you don’t keep contradicting that with your focus on the problem, it will get bigger and bigger until the solution really does manifest in your reality.
What we’re doing is basically what the Einstein quote says above. The solution exists at a higher level of consciousness. So, by feeling the feeling of everything working out, you are accessing that higher level of consciousness for yourself.
This is how simple it really can be. It shouldn’t be anymore complicated than this.
The law of attraction is all about effortless ease. If any part of this is not effortless, you are pushing against what is. Step back, let go, and try again.
Falling Out of the Airplane
Sometimes, the problem is just too big, and too in-your-face, to effectively refocus right now.
Abraham calls these times, “falling out of the airplane.”
Imagine you’re falling out of an airplane. It’s too late to really do anything about it. All you can do is wait until it’s over, and start over from there.
With our eviction example, if you just can’t create the openness to focus in a more effective way, then just let yourself fall out of the airplane. Let events take their course.
Once everything is over with, then you have a new slate to begin manifesting again. But, as long as you can’t vibrationally back away from this problem, you won’t be able to create something new.
So, there’s nothing wrong with just letting it take its course, then picking up the pieces, as it were.
The thing is, this very attitude will often be enough to turn things around. This attitude is very much like surrender and letting go, which is exactly what you need to start creating positively.
So, just give in. Just let go. Does it feel like relief when you do that? That means it’s the right thing to do.
But, don’t be surprised if something comes through at the last minute, and everything actually works out. This has been my experience.
How About You?
Now it’s your turn. How have you dealt with major problems when they arise in your life? Have you been able to refocus in a more effective way, or do you find this difficult? Let me know in the comments!
By the way, you might notice a new chat box at the bottom right of your screen. It’s a feature I’m experimenting with. If you have any questions at all about the services I offer, or just want to say hi, just click that little chat box and let me know. As long as I’m around, I’ll be happy to respond.

Hi Brandon!
This post is awesome! Effortless ease and peace and the Spirit way, after all.
Yes, this is how I managed to deal with a couple of things. Still working on others. Another technique I use is listening to 80s pop music. Those tunes are the perfect way to let go, ease up and get away to re-align.
This post also reminded me about a book I had read, From Homeless to Harvard. This is pretty much what the author did and felt in order to go on with her life. No hard feelings, and those she did have she cried and released. Her slate was clean and she took it form there. As an inspirational speaker, she reminds the audience that every moment is a new opportunity, no matter what you are told.
In society, we are always told not to waste time and rush to do things, because how will college committees, future employers, neighbors, etc. see us otherwise? I grew so tired of living that way. You can never please everybody and if you do things others do not do, that is cool and looks even better!
The best things come when we are ready and inspired. I mean, the author finished college when she was 30 and did not feel bad about it at all. She did not let the judgment penetrate her or stop her. Most people who judge you never see again after the fact, so that is good.
I find when I feel good and stand by my decisions and am free of judging myself, I am not judged by others, so this is also a reflection of where I stand at the time. I could write about this all day, but got to go!
Thanks so much for commenting, A.
Music can be really helpful. My thing is classical music. It really helps me to relax as well. To each their own I think. 🙂
That book sounds really cool. I agree with the principles of it. It’s all about letting each moment be fresh and new.
I was fortunate to never really care much what others thought. I was always the different kid as a teenager. I was exploring all sorts of different spiritual paths, and of course that comes across as weird. But, I just never believed in being ashamed of that.
I actually didn’t finish college. I realized it wasn’t right for me, and knew I had to make that decision. I was a little self-conscious about it at the time, but I still don’t regret that decision today.
I know what you mean though about rushing around and not wasting time. It’s better to just let life come to us and not try to force things. It’s the way of the Tao. 🙂

My pc crashed last week. I nearly had apoplexy, who wouldn’t when confronted with possibly losing everything, and with the image not even working; that part of the hard drive was damaged. After a short while though, I just gave it to my guides and guardians. I just told them they had to save the day, and they did. I recovered most of my info. I just did the best I could, and aligned the best way I knew how. It worked out. I guess I was falling out of the airplane, but the damage wasn’t minimal.
Very happy for you Justin. And I’m glad you got most of your information back. 🙂
