Brandon: Hey, everyone. Welcome to the second class of “The Art of Reality Creation 3.0.” I am very excited to be finally doing this one. I know there was a bit of a delay—two weeks or so. That was annoying. We are here today. If you are watching live here on Facebook, just let me know. Feel free to leave comments. Feel free to ask questions throughout this thing. I don’t know if we have anyone here tonight or not. If you are here…
Christine: You can check if people are on, I think.
Brandon: I am checking. I’m doing that right now. Let me know. Leave a comment. Ask your questions. Just say hi, whatever you feel like doing. If not, that’s okay.
Christine: My apologies for not being on video. It’s too hard for me to.
Brandon: It’s too hard for Christine. [laughs]
Christine: It’s too hard to get it just correct. The overhead light gives me migraines. I’m very sorry about that. I would love to be on video, but it just isn’t feasible right now.
Brandon: I’m sure no one really cares. It’s fine.
Christine: I want to give that disclaimer. It’s not that I don’t want to be. It’s that it’s too much of a pain in the neck to do it.
Brandon: Sure. [laughs] I’m going to do my best to get everything done today. I have no idea how I’m going to do it. We’re going to get started right away.
Christine: We’re halfway done.
The Abyss
Brandon: Yes, but there’s other stuff to discuss, too. Today, on the agenda, I’m going to discuss the abyss. It sounds so ominous. Then level three, which is emotions, and level four, which is matter. Then we will overview the four levels and give you some techniques for traversing the different levels. Then I want to give some different general tips on overcoming resistance and different things like that that can help you with this process. That should be fun. Starting with the abyss. If you read my blog posts on this subject, which I recommend because the blog posts on the four levels of a manifestation (I don’t remember the exact title of it, but something like “The Path of Manifestation” or whatnot), I gave a good introduction to these levels. I recommend reading those if you haven’t because they’ll give an introduction to what I’m about to talk about today and what I talked about last time. Go ahead and do that if you haven’t already.
Today we will be extending those concepts even more. If you are familiar with what I wrote there, you know that I talked about the abyss. Remember how we are basically doing this in conjunction with the four worlds of kabbalah. It gives us a structure to go by that fits well, I think. In the kabbalah, you have what is called the abyss. The abyss is really between the middle of the four worlds—between worlds two and three in the traditional construction of the worlds, between Bryah and Yetzirah, which we’ll discuss.
The abyss is basically where I compared it to the dark night of the soul. It’s where you really face your fears and get hit with that resistance that has to do with your manifestation. It’s where you really have to commit to your goal. This is why you have to commit to your goal. If you don’t commit to your goal, it’s going to just crumble in the abyss. There’s no way you can get through the abyss and not have a huge commitment to your goal. You definitely want to do that, and that is why.
Last class, when I discussed the level of mind, I talked about trusting in the universe. I talked about the universal womb where it goes into gestation, your manifestation does. You have to trust the universe. I compared it to planting the seed. You don’t dig up that seed every day and see how it’s doing. That trust is going to bring you right across the abyss. That’s why trust is so important. Trust, in a certain sense, is part of both the level of mind and the level of emotions. It brings you right across the abyss.
I’ve had clients where they’ve been in the abyss. They’ve had depression and anxiety and felt hopeless about their goals. If you don’t trust and you really try to egoically get your goal, either the goal will crumble and you’ll give up on it (you don’t have the commitment), or if you do have the commitment, you will just hit a brick wall and be able to move forward because you are committed but yet you can’t let go enough to let the universe do its thing. This is the number one place where people get stuck in this process. This is the number one place. This is the place where trust is absolutely essential. It’s so hard for many people to do this.
The abyss, like I said, is definitely part of the manifestation process. It’s something you’re going to have to deal with. Trust is your #1 tool to get through that. There’s not too much that can be said about the abyss. I don’t want to spend too much time on it, but how do you know when you’re there?
Christine: Because you feel hopeless.
Brandon: Yes. When you feel hopeless, your goal starts to become really difficult.
Christine: Yes, that’s where I am in mine.
Brandon: Your goal starts to become really hopeless. You just feel like it gets really difficult. This is again where you have to overcome the resistance. You have to learn how to trust and to let go. That’s pretty much all there is to that. That trust will carry you across the abyss. I call it the bridge across the abyss. When you do that, it will bring you right into the level of emotions. Do you think I covered that pretty well, Christine?
Christine: I think you covered it perfectly. I don’t think you could say any more about it.
Brandon: I don’t want to over-cover it.
Christine: It’s the abyss. It happens. You can get through it.
Brandon: Yes, it happens. If you think you’re there, you’ve got to let go and start trusting.
Christine: If you think you’re there, go see Brandon for coaching. [laughs]
Brandon: That’s right. [laughs] A lot of my clients are at the risk of being there. They are trying to actively cross it. I’m basically guiding them across. I had one client recently who was actually in the abyss. Not in our first session, but in our second session. She’d only gotten two sessions. She was actively in the abyss. I haven’t gotten updates yet, but I think I helped clear some things up in that session. It’s hard. When you’re actually in the abyss—when you’ve actually fallen in—it’s kind of difficult to get someone out of that. It’s possible, but it’s really, really hard. When you feel that threat coming on and it gets more difficult, then seek out help or just really, really, really make yourself let go. That’s about all you can do there.
Level 3: Emotions
Brandon: We’re moving on to level three, emotions, level number three. In level number three, if you remember, we have each one associated with a world, a stage, a keyword, and so on. This is the world of formation which is called Yetzirah in kabbalah. That’s not really too important, but formation is actually very important because this is where you form your manifestation.
Christine: Wait, we’re on level three. Oh, it is formation? Because you said “emotion.”
Brandon: Emotion is formation.
Christine: Same thing, sorry.
Brandon: The world of formation. I have my own names for the levels, but the names in kabbalah are different.
Christine: Got you. Sorry. Ignore me.
Brandon: Last one was the world of mind, the world of creation. Now we’re in the world of formation, which is the level of emotions.
Christine: Sorry about that.
Brandon: That’s all right. Formation, because your emotions form your manifestation. This is where you really, really form it and start to bring it into being. There’s a little bit of a caveat with that, which I’ll mention soon. Remember I also compared it to the 3 stages. I added one to the beginning of that. 3 stages that Robert Fritz has: the stage of assimilation, which is where the energy slows down a bit and things are settling, actively growing, but may not be seen right away. The goal is happening. It’s in progress. It’s just not a super exciting part of the process. [laughs] The first part is the most exciting one. Emotions are fresh. This is where things are more stable. You have more material to work with, but it might not be as noticeable, too.
Level 3 Keyword: Embodiment
In this level, you are working on embodying the goal. The key word is “embodiment.” If you remember, the keyword for the last level was “trust.” Just to review. The keyword for this level is “embodiment.” That’s a complicated concept. A lot of people don’t get exactly what that means. Here, you are trying to embody your goal. You’re trying to take it on. You’re trying to create it within yourself and become the essence of that goal. That’s why knowing the essence of the goal is so important. You are, like I said, forming. This is the world of formation. You are taking on the goal within yourself.
I’ve mentioned before the class “Hypnosis and the Law of Attraction” with Joe Tabbanella. One of his main things was taking on the goal. Every time you focus on it and let go of resistance and go deeper into the feeling of having that goal, it gets stronger and stronger. You’re taking on the goal. You’re going deeper into the goal. This is the level of emotions. That’s mainly what you’re doing here. Because of that, this is where your beliefs and subconscious beliefs really start to come up. You can more or less avoid them—and I recommend avoiding them—in the first two levels. The first two levels are purely the universal level. It’s just to do with the universe. It’s the macrocosm. You’re choosing the essence of the goal, and you’re doing that in a light enough way that resistance isn’t going to hit. In the level of mind, you’re adding more detail, but just a little bit to add to that. You’re trusting the universe and letting go of that.
So no resistance should be really coming up in the first two levels. If it is, you’re hitting it too hard. I’ll talk about this later on when I finish the levels. But here in the level of emotions, this is where you have to deal with the resistance. This is the only place to do that. This is an extension of the abyss a little bit, in that way. You have to deal with that resistance and the subconscious beliefs and programs here. If you imagine carving out a block of wood or stone—I had an art project in school when I was younger. Remember I told you about this, Christine?
Christine: Yes.
Brandon: I had to carve out this stone into—I don’t even remember what I tried to make now. It was just a random figure. I didn’t care what I was making. [laughs] You have to carve it out. When you’re carving out something, what are you doing? You’re not adding anything to it. You’re removing things from it. It’s like that Michaelangelo quote. You have to free the form that is within that wood or stone. That’s what you’re doing when you’re carving it. You’re not adding to it. You’re removing from it. You’re removing what’s not part of that goal. I see this as carving. I also compare it to molding clay, but especially carving because you’re removing this stuff that doesn’t support your goal.
If you have a money manifestation, and you have a belief that says you can’t have a lot of money, that’s not part of that carving that you’re trying to make. So you carve it out. You remove that part of the stone because that’s not part of it. That is what you’re trying to do here. When you’re working with your resistance, the more that you’re letting go of it, the more you can embody that goal. You’ve probably tried this. If you haven’t, then you can try this. Imagine your goal. Imagine having it right now. If you try to imagine having it right now and there’s stuff in the way (which there will be if it’s a next level goal), then you will feel a feeling of resistance in your body. As you try to take on that goal and feel it right now, you can’t do it. Not fully, unless you try to force it, which I don’t recommend doing. That is because of the resistance. That is because that stone or piece of wood isn’t fully embodying or in the shape you want it to be in in the carving metaphor. You still have resistance that’s in the way. You still have subconscious programs that are in the way. That subconscious pathway to manifestation isn’t yet clear.
Once it is clear, that manifestation can come to you. This is where I want to mention that when you are doing this (carving out this space)—sorry if you hear my cat scratching. He doesn’t like my door shut.
Christine: I just wanted to make sure he wasn’t in there with you. [laughs]
Brandon: I don’t think. [laughs] When you are carving this out, if you recall from my post, I mentioned that it’s not that you’re trying to form the manifestation. It’s that you’re trying to create a place of openness within yourself.
Christine: When you do that, it sort of gets molded, right?
Brandon: Right. I compared it to the metaphor I use, which I got a lot of positive comments about. The metaphor I used was ordering a new bedroom set (bed, dressers, that kind of stuff). When you order it, what do you need to do first? You need to remove the old one.
Christine: Yes. Bring it to the dump or something. Or sometimes they take it. They take it.
Brandon: You’re ruining my metaphor. [laughs] Good job!
Christine: I just heard of that.
Brandon: Either way, the old one…
Christine: It has to leave.
Brandon: It has to leave. You can’t put a bed on top of your old bed. You could try.
Christine: Unless you have bunk beds.
Brandon: You’re ruining it so much here!
Christine: I was kidding. But normally you wouldn’t have bunk beds.
Brandon: Sure. No bunk beds. [laughs]
Christine: You know I’m just joking with you, right?
Brandon: I know you are. [laughs] You’ve got to remove the old stuff. Don’t put a dresser on top of a dresser. Don’t even go there. You have to remove the old set. You have to remove the old bed and dresser.
Christine: It wouldn’t match, anyway.
Creating Openness
Brandon: Right. Once the old ones are removed, you have that openness. That openness almost begs to get filled. It’s empty. This is unnatural. Something has to go here. You have to fill it. That openness is in the shape of a new bedroom set. What I mean by “the shape of” is that it’s a bedroom. You know you’re going to use it for a bedroom. That’s your intention. You’re not going to put something totally different in there. It’s begging to get filled by what it is, basically. It’s a little metaphysical and abstract, but you know what I mean.
When you create that openness inside yourself, that is basically what you’re doing. You’re creating a space within yourself that’s in the shape of abundance, love, health, career, a new house, a new car, whatever. You are creating an openness in that shape within yourself. Until you do that, you can’t receive the goal. It’s just impossible. That’s what you’re basically trying to do. It’s so hard to explain what I mean by “creating a space of that” but that’s what you’re doing. I’m trying to think of a better way to explain this.
Christine: I don’t think there is a better way. I think it’s amazing. You’re overthinking it.
Brandon: [laughs] Thanks. I know, but I know people will ask, “What do you mean by that exactly?”
Christine: Just keep it simple, stupid. You know that expression? Do it.
Brandon: Yes, I know that expression. Basically, you are changing yourself and your identity. I sent out my daily email today, which is October 9th, about this. Your identity is about who you are, not what you have or what you think about.
Christine: That’s what LOA is. It teaches you about yourself and who you are.
The Law of Attraction and Authenticity
Brandon: Exactly. After I sent that email this morning about who you are and that the law of attraction is not about your thoughts, another realization came to me. Yes, it’s about who you are. It’s also about unveiling or uncovering who you are to yourself and being authentically that. I think sometimes we try to be that person who has a lot of money, but we feel like we’re pretending. You are actually that person, but you haven’t uncovered that level of yourself yet. You can’t pretend to be there. This has to be authentic. Authenticity is a huge part of the law of attraction.
Christine: I was listening to something today about shamanism. I’m really interested in it. They were talking about how you have to be authentic. This guy who was talking about it—I believe his name is Alberto Villoldo or something, if I’m pronouncing it right—said you have to kill your false self. Your false self—that’s not you being sincere. He said, “Everyone thought I was so sincere, but I was always lying to myself all the time.” You have to get rid of that and be authentic.
Brandon: I’ve felt this lately, too, with one of my biggest goals, which is quitting my part-time job. It was a full-time job, so I came some distance with that. I went part-time. As I was doing that full-time job, I didn’t feel authentic. I didn’t feel I was being myself. I couldn’t be myself there. I had to be the programmer. I remember saying this in a Creators Circle: “Just because I do programming doesn’t mean I am a programmer.”
Christine: There’s a difference.
Brandon: There’s a difference. I am a spiritual teacher. I am a coach or whatever, not a programmer. I do those things. I do programming and lots of different things, but that’s not what I am or who I am. I’ve been realizing this lately: the law of attraction is the active unveiling of your true self and your true purpose in this world.
Christine: Yes. It’s just creepy because that’s what I learned about today. I don’t know if I told you about it or not. I think I mentioned it.
Brandon: Maybe a little bit.
Christine: It’s just creepy because it’s exactly the same thing.
Brandon: So the law of attraction is the active unveiling of who you are. This is what this level is about. You have many, many levels. You don’t just have a self who’s abundant, a self who’s in a relationship. It’s all one self in many facets. When you’re doing this, you’re actively tuning in to a part of your core. You are infinite abundance, infinite love, infinite health and well-being. That’s who you are. When you say, “I want $5,000” or “I want to be with this person” or whatever the goal is, you are tuning in to that part of yourself that is that abundance or love in an abstract way. You’re tuning in to that part of yourself, and if that desire is in alignment with that….Let’s say you want this job, but that job actually isn’t who you are, then the more you work on that goal, the—what was that? The more you carve out that space within yourself, you realize that’s not who you are or that is who you are, either way. It’s like carving out that stone and realizing, “Hey, wait, this stone can’t be in the picture of whatever I’m trying to make. That’s not possible with what I have here. That’s not the true essence of this stone.”
I read a book once. I think it was a RPG-based book, not one of the ones you read. It was the first one I read.
Christine: That you didn’t want to keep going with. [laughs]
Brandon: In that book, he was basically carving stones. He was making stones in certain shapes. He realized each stone wanted to be a certain shape. He had to discover the shape that stone wanted to be.
Christine: It’s interesting you say that because I’ve read books, too. I don’t know how it really is. When people do carving, they say, “I’m discovering the shape that it is.”
Brandon: That’s what I mean. He realized every stone wanted to be in a certain shape, and he couldn’t force a different shape on it.
Christine: I’ve heard of that a lot.
Brandon: When you are trying to carve out your desire and you realize your essence doesn’t want to take that shape, that’s a false desire. Like Christine was talking about, that’s a false self. That’s an ego desire. You can maybe go there a while. You can pretend to be that, but it won’t be long-term and it won’t make you happy. Your true desires—it doesn’t matter if it’s for a car, house, health, relationship, money, or whatever. Those can be true desires. They will sink into your essence. If it doesn’t sink in or feels like you’re trying to squish a square peg into a round hole, then that’s not a true desire. But if, as you take it on (doesn’t mean you won’t hit resistance) it sinks in and feels right, that is a true desire and you will have it. That is creating an openness.
I know I’ve spent a lot of time with this, but this is the most important part of this whole thing. If you carve out that space inside yourself and that desire takes and sinks in and is at home and fits in like a puzzle piece because that is who you are, then you’re not becoming that. You’re realizing you already were that. That’s what I want to say. You don’t become these things. You remove a part of yourself that was not that thing. Not part of yourself, part of your ego or imagined self that wasn’t in alignment with that. It is that carving of self into your true form. That’s what every single manifestation does.
Whereas a lot of people think the law of attraction is rather shallow, it’s not at all. It’s one of the deepest things you could do. It’s true magic. It’s true artistry.
Christine: It really is.
Brandon: You are creating yourself into your true form.
Christine: And people have been doing it for thousands of years. In that same documentary I was watching, 35,000 years was how long these secrets were kept. This is not a new thing, people. It’s spoken in a different way, but it’s as old as time, really.
Brandon: Right. Last thing on this level. I know I’ve spent a lot of time on this level, but the next level will be short. When you carve that space out within yourself, all you’re doing is creating a space to receive. None of this is doing. You’re just receiving the goal. You’re not actually forming the manifestation. You’re forming a space where the manifestation can fit.
Christine: Like you said, a vacuum. A container you can put something in.
Brandon: Right. Or like with a bedroom. You’re creating a space where the new bedroom suite can fit. You’re creating a space where that money or relationship or whatever can fit. That’s what you’re doing. The manifestation is the universe’s job. You focus on it. You choose it. You send it out there. Here you go, universe. I trust it to you. On this level, you are making room to receive it. That’s what you’re doing. You’re not actually shaping it. You’re just making room for it. You’re becoming a match. That’s what it means to become a match. You’re becoming a mirror image of that manifestation by uncovering that part of yourself that is a match already.
If you have to listen to that part of the class 20 times, I really want that to sink in. If you have questions about it, tell me. That is by far the most important part of the class, which is why I talked about it forever. [laughs]
Level 4: Matter
Brandon: The level of matter is super simple. I don’t want to spend much time on it because there’s other things to discuss. The level of matter has to do with kabbalah’s world of Assiyah, action. In this level, this stage is the stage of completion. Just to go over the stages, we have the goal seed in the level of soul, germination, where the seed is planted in the level of mind, assimilation where the seed is growing and sprouting and you’re creating the form within yourself in the level of emotions, and now this is completion in the level of matter and the world of action. This is where your results start manifesting. There’s really nothing for you on this level. The only thing you have to deal with on this level is action, that dreaded “a” word.
Christine: It has to be inspired action.
Brandon: It has to be inspired action. You don’t take premature action. If you take premature action, it won’t work. You’re not ready for it. Go into the seed analogy. Suppose you decide to grow an apple tree. You plant the apple tree. It’s still in the ground germinating and sprouting. After a week, you say, “It’s been in there a while. I’m going to go pick an apple.” There’s a little tiny sprout in the ground. You’re like, “Where are the apples?” [laughs] You came a little too early. Or, if there are apples, they’re not ready yet. They’re not ripened.
Christine: Yucky.
Brandon: It’s premature. Action is basically—in my post on this level, I said it’s an effect, not a cause. It’s an effect of the whole manifestation process. If you get a job interview and you go to it and you do the interview, that action was not the cause of you getting the job. I cannot emphasize that enough. That helps, but that is only the effect of your focus on getting that job.
Christine: It all starts spiritually.
Brandon: It all starts spiritually. If someone writes a movie script and someone shoots the movie with actors, it’s like saying a character in the movie was the cause of doing something else. Yes, in the context of the movie, maybe, but not in reality. In reality the cause was someone writing the script. [laughs]
Christine: [laughs] That’s true.
Brandon: That character shot someone else and now they’re dead. If they hadn’t shot them, then they wouldn’t be dead. Yes, in the world of that movie. But that movie is an effect of someone writing a script and other people acting it out and it being filmed.
Christine: I never thought of it that way, but it’s true.
Brandon: By the time it gets into the physical world, the script is written. The parts are being played. Yes, technically, if you hadn’t gone to the interview, you wouldn’t get the job, but that’s part of the script now because it was written in through your focus. You are actively writing the script of the movie of your life as you focus.
Christine: That’s awesome. I love it.
Brandon: By the time it gets into the physical, it’s already scripted. It’s already filmed. It’s already shot. It’s already played out, and you’re seeing the results and being an active participant in that. You can’t make the character do something else. You can’t say, “Maybe the next time I watch that movie, they won’t shoot that other character and they’ll live.” No, it’s written. It’s done. It’s going to be the same every time you watch it. [laughs]
Christine: Works out the same way.
Brandon: Maybe when I reread that book, maybe this time that person won’t fall in love with that other person or make that choice. They’re going to every time because it’s written. As you focus, you’re writing the script of your future life. That future life could be in ten minutes. Abraham has the method of segment intending, where you imagine each part of your day. You’re basically scripting and filming your day piece by piece. Then you’re playing out the effect. I’ve done that before. It’s very effective. That’s what you’re doing. The future doesn’t have to be way off like a month or year from now. It could be later today. It could be in an hour, half an hour, or 2 minutes. Anything is the future, but you’re writing it with your focus.
That’s why Seth says the point of power is in the present or now. I don’t remember how it goes. [laughs] The point of power is in the present, is how I think it goes. Whatever it is, that’s what he said. [laughs] Something to that effect. But that’s why he says that. It’s only in the now or the present that you can write the future. That’s where action comes in. It’s an effect. It’s already done, in a sense. You’re just participating. In that way, it will feel very natural, inspired, or like it’s supposed to happen. It will feel very effortless and easy. That’s it. When you’re doing it out of inspiration. Action is a manifestation like anything else.
At this level, al you’re doing is receiving. The script is written. You’ve carved out that block. I’m mixing metaphors. The movie is done. Now you’re just watching it and receiving the results. That’s awesome. You can’t really get the emotions of a movie while you’re writing it or acting it out, necessarily. You know that it’s just not real. But if you’re sitting in the theater or at home watching it, you get sucked in to the movie. You see it as it’s happening. You see it all put together. The feeling of a manifestation is never quite as real as the manifestation itself as it happens.
Level 4 Keyword: Expression
Brandon: The script, while it’s awesome and is good stuff, is not as real as watching it on the screen. And that’s what you’re doing when you get the manifestation. This is where you just receive it. The keyword to do with this is “expression” because it’s an expression of who you already are. Life is just coming out from that. When you learn who you really are (like I said in the last level), life will reflect that back to you as a mirror. Everything you see is just an expression of yourself.
Christine: That’s awesome. It’s so inspiring. It’s just getting there that’s hard. [laughs]
Brandon: Those last two levels go hand in hand. As the assimilation process is going on, there may be steps where you need to take action. They go hand in hand. A manifestation can be perfected. Maybe you get part of a manifestation, but it’s not perfect yet. You keep working at it so it perfects itself. This isn’t like a linear process. I think I said the last time, too (and if I didn’t , I should have)…
Christine: I think you did.
Brandon: This is not a linear process where it’s level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4. You’ll be focused more or less on one level, but even when you’re on level 3, every day you’re going to go back to level 1 and add more energy to it through your focus. That’s your persistence. Every day you’re going to go back and add more energy to that and go through level 1, level 2, level 3. Levels 1 through 3 are where you’re going to be most of the time because level 4 is where you receive it. Levels 1 through 3—you’re going to be there all the time. At least twice a day, you’re going to be traveling through levels 1 through 3 and doing the choosing, the letting go and trusting, and then the opening up and creating a space within yourself. You’re going to be doing that every day. We’ll talk about techniques soon.
Level 4 starts to come in as the energy builds up. You see more and more of it. Then you get glimpses through signs, actions you take, opportunities that come up. You either say, “Yup, that’s completed,” or “No, I’m close, but not quite.” Just like me going part-time in my job was an expression of my manifestation of wanting to quit and go full-time with Co-Creation Coaching, but not the whole thing yet. It’s still on level 3, but level 4 is starting to happen. You can feel that more and more every day. All these levels play together constantly. They all run together. You’re not going to be always at one level. You’re going to be working at all the levels all the time. Those are the four.
Summary of the Levels
Brandon: Just as a summary, you have level 1, the level of soul, which is the infinite possibilities matrix, if you remember. You feel the possibility of the goal. I’m not asking you to feel the absolute guarantee of the goal or feel 100% certain it’s going to happen. Just feel the possibility of the goal. One way that this was expressed to me when I was meditating on this was, “If this is a next level goal, you know it’s possible. So the question is, do I know this is possible?” Yes, I know that it’s possible. Then tune in to that possibility. That’s the level of soul. Tune in to that possibility. Don’t try to tune in to the absolute nature of it or the guarantee of it. Just tune in to the possibility, and ignore everything else.
Level 2 is the level of mind, where the energy is expanding inside of yourself. What I do to get from level 1 to level 2 is choose the goal. I choose it in the infinite possibilities matrix. I’m feeling the possibility of it. Then I say, “I choose this. I choose this for myself.” Remember, this is mind, free will, and choice. That choice makes it expand inside of me. I feel the energy branch out and balloon outward and expand in my body and awareness. It’s a very soft thing. This is not visualization. You can have very abstract images if you want to, but there should be no resistance here. If you start to get resistance, you have gone too far. You have tried too hard. Back off. Just feel the possibility of it. No resistance should be here. I choose this. That makes it come to the second level and branch out and expand. You feel it be more expansive and broader within yourself. It’s almost a full-body, full-awareness experience. You become that goal. Then, as you do that, you let it go. You say, “I trust the universe to bring this to me.” You let go of the energy and relax into what I call the zero state. You relax into that peaceful place. I think I mentioned last time that you get that confirmation. You feel like it’s done. You feel like it’s done and there’s nothing else that needs to happen. As you do that, you feel the energy leave to the universe, but you don’t feel like you’re missing anything. You’ve planted that seed. It’s not missing. It’s just in the process of growing. It’s germinating.
Then, once you do that, the real fun begins. This leads perfectly into the third level, the level of emotions. Then you say, “What’s blocking me from this goal?” You open up to the goal. This is the affirmation I’ve used: “I accept this manifestation into myself.” Now, there’s a difference between “I trust the universe with this” and “I choose this” and so on. It’s out there. I accept the manifestation into myself.
Christine: That’s hard.
Brandon: It is hard. Remember I talked about acceptance a few weeks ago. When you say that you accept the manifestation into yourself, it will trigger why you can’t accept it. Why can’t I have it? You can even ask this if that doesn’t do it. Why can’t I have this manifestation right now? Your subconscious will volunteer that information very readily. [laughs]
Christine: Oh, yeah.
Brandon: Don’t go on this belief-slaying mission. Don’t try to seek out every single last belief that’s blocking you. Just keep saying, “I accept this manifestation into myself. I accept having this, being this, and doing this.” If you do that, then it will create that openness. Every time you say “I accept this”—whether you’re met with resistance or not, and you overcome that resistance that may come up—it’s carving that space out of yourself and creating more openness. You’re tuning in to that part of yourself that is that goal already. I accept this into myself. Or, “Why can’t I have this right now? What’s keeping me from having this right now?” I like more positive statements. “What if I had this right now?”
If resistance comes up (we’ll talk about some techniques in a minute here), use mindfulness. Don’t interact with the resistance. Don’t react to it. Just let it flow. Don’t push it down. Don’t push against it. Don’t struggle. Just let it go. As you do that, you will sink deeper into the having and the accepting of the feeling of that goal. That’s where you want to be every time you do this process. Then, finally, level 4 is the level of matter. You’re receiving it. It’s happening. All through level 3, it’s developing either in the universe or possibly through opportunities you see in life coming up. In level 4, you receive it. Maybe you take some inspired action, but it’s just an effect, not a cause. Those are how the four levels work together.
Christine: It’s like a dance.
Three Counterbalancing Forces
Brandon: It is like a dance. Good analogy. Those are how they fit together. Remember the podcast about the greatest key being persistence? That is true. The greatest key is persistence. I mentioned a counterbalancing force or focus or power that goes with this. That is trust. I’m actually going to add two different counterbalancing forces here. [laughs] After that, I realized about acceptance and openness. So trust is an outward-flowing energy where you’re trusting it to the universe. You’re entrusting your manifestation to the universe. You’re giving it into the universe’s hands. Then, to finish the whole thing off, acceptance and openness. Those two things go hand in hand. They’re the same thing to me, but whatever word you want to use. Acceptance and openness. That is what finishes it off.
Persistence keeps the energy flowing. It keeps it moving forward. You can’t just ask once and hope for it to come. It’s not going to. Every time you enter level 1 and travel to level 3, you’re adding more energy. It’s like building a house. You can’t lay down one brick and it’s done. You have to add to it. You can’t lay the foundation and there’s a house. No. The first time you do it, you’re laying the foundation. Every time you do it afterwards, you’re adding a bit more and adding a bit more and adding a bit more. That’s persistence.
Trust is, even though I’m focusing on it and being persistent, I’m not going to try to figure it out. I’m just going to do my part. I’m just going to plant that seed and keep watering it and let the earth take care of the seed. I’ll let the universe take care of my manifestation. That’s the trust. The acceptance is just, “I can’t allow myself to have this. I can open up to the having of this.” You need all three of those. If you are persistent but you don’t trust or accept, then you’re moving energy but you’re not working through the resistance. If you’re persistent and trusting but you don’t accept, it’s hard to receive the manifestation. It’s just out there ready—like the people with the bedroom set at the front door, and you’re not really opening the front door. You have to accept it. If you just do the passive parts of trusting and accepting, but no persistence, you’re just laying the foundation. You’re not building the house. You’re not moving it forward. You need all three to be successful.
Just a few minor things to tie things together. Hopefully those are the four levels. I’m just going to tie things together a little bit. Hopefully those four levels make sense to you. If they don’t or if you have any questions about them, feel free to ask either on the Facebook group or whatever.
Christine: Pick his brains.
Questions to Ask Yourself
Brandon: Yes. [laughs] This is deep. This is, I think, the deepest I’ve ever gone with this. It’s very important to understand. I really want you to listen to this over and over until you get it. Or ask all the questions you have until you really get it at the core of your being. This is important. It’s very deep. Just like I said, some final stuff to tie things together. As you are focusing (I mentioned focusing on the possibility, and that’s true), you have two things you can focus on all throughout this process. You can focus on the soul or essence, or you can focus on your ego and trying to figure it out. I want you to ask yourself all the time, “Am I focusing on the soul or the essence, or am I focusing on the ego?”
Christine: Yup.
Brandon: If you feel stress, struggle, anxiety, trying, forcing, effort, any words like that—if those are indicative of your current state, then you are focusing on ego. That’s how you know you’re focused on ego. If you feel effortlessness, peace, joy, ease, flow, anything like that, that’s how you know you’re focusing on soul. So ask yourself, “What am I focusing on? Am I stressing out about it?” Then you’re not doing it. You’re focused on the ego. You’re letting your ego step in and try to do this. If you focus on that really nice, gentle stream of essence, soul, or peace, then everything will flow so much more easily. That’s what it should feel like the whole way through. If you notice yourself pushing against it, stop. [laughs] It’s really hard, I know. Everyone has trouble with it, but just stop. Stop doing that. That’s not productive.
I’m trying to play the universe’s part. I’m trying to do what the universe is supposed to do. I’m getting out of my job.
Christine: The ego is trying to take charge, and it can’t. It doesn’t know anything.
Brandon: If you are in that positive stream or essence of flow, ease, and effortlessness, it will lead you to your goals. Now, when I say “stress,” there’s that structural tension where you don’t have it yet but it’s okay. It’s not a huge deal. It’s not the end of the world. Obviously you want it. Obviously the desire is not fulfilled yet, so there’s that tension.
Christine: But it’s a positive thing, though.
Wu Wei
Brandon: It’s a positive thing. It’s not anxiety, struggle, or stress. If you notice yourself struggling or pushing against or trying too hard or anything like that, then stop. I’ve put this into practice. I talked about in my email the other day about wu wei. This is perfect here. Wu wei, nondoing. Anytime I lose something, I get the urge to panic. That’s focusing on ego, trying to find it, trying to find it. That’s something where you have to try to find it to some extent, but I’m in that trying and struggle where I have to find it. Then I take a step back. I say, “Wait. That’s not how it works. I have to step back. I have to enter the flow. I have to be on that path of wu wei, nondoing.” The moment I do that, within a minute usually, it turns up.
Christine: Or less. It was like 15 seconds. I think it was yesterday’s email.
Brandon: Wu wei. I always recommend reading the Tao Te Ching. It’s a wonderful book. They talk about wu wei or nondoing. Wu wei is by nondoing or minimum effort, you get it done. It’s not by struggle or stress. If you find yourself stressing, you’re not in the Tao. You’re not in the flow. Get back in the flow. Then choose your goal, and you will go there. This is persistence. If I had to collapse that trust and acceptance into one, it would be flow. Persistence and flow. Or will and flow, you could say, if you had to put it as a binary option. Will and yet flow. Will the goal to happen. Persistently focus on it. Will it, but also flow. You need both. If you feel yourself pushing, struggling, or trying, drop that and enter back into the Tao or flow. Then will it, and you’ll get there, but stay in the flow while you will it.
This is the most important balance you need to keep throughout this whole process: will versus flow. If you don’t keep this balance, you cannot get there, or at least not so easily. I’m not saying….What’s that?
Christine: You’ll have lots of obstacles. I can’t talk.
Brandon: [laughs] I’m not saying you have to keep it 100% all the time, but when you notice your stress, you’re out of the flow and out of the Tao. You can’t survive like that. We’re not meant to survive like that. So many of us today are out of the Tao. We have anxiety. We have depression. We have all these different conditions on the rise because people are stressed. People are anxious. People are struggling against life. That’s just the way of things, it seems, but that’s not the way of things. That’s going against the Tao, and that’s not how it works.
Christine: People are losing the flow more and more, I think.
Brandon: Exactly. As the Tao Te Ching always, says, be a master. The master of the flow. The master, it says, gets things done without doing anything. That’s where you want to be. That’s so true. Seriously, read that book. Please read that book. Just read it.
Christine: You can get it online.
Brandon: I really like the translation by Stephen Mitchell because it’s in my opinion the best. It’s really understandable. It’s put into more modern language, so I really like that one. Chinese is apparently really a difficult language to translate because they have really weird metaphors. [laughs] When there’s a really weird metaphor, that translation translates it into a version we can get.
A couple other things before we’re done. If you have energetic charges from the past, there’s two things (I’ve mentioned this in the past) that can overcome that. Those are forgiveness and taking responsibility. Forgiveness is of other or self. There are some people who say go through everything in your life and forgive. You can, but especially with your goal. This happens a lot in relationships. Someone hurt you in the past, or you’re mad at yourself for handling a certain situation a certain way. If there’s a hurt in the past that keeps getting in the way, forgive that person. Forgive yourself. Forgive the situation. Whatever you have to do, but forgive that part of yourself and forgive that other person because it’s all the same thing.
That’s one of the reasons I really like that Hawaiian ho’oponopono. Everything is one. The other person is the same as me. By forgiving the other person, I’m forgiving myself, and vice versa. Forgiveness, I’ve realized, is a really big part of this. Sometimes if I’m anxious one day and I’m frustrated with that, I’ll say, “I forgive myself for being anxious” or “I forgive this anxiety for coming up” or “I forgive my subconscious mind for having this resistance.” It just softens it for me. It seems to really work.
If you’re really stuck in a situation, you can forgive the situation, whatever it is. If you’re not seeing progress, you can forgive the lack of progress. That seems to really work in my experience.
Taking responsibility is also about if you’re feeling you’re stuck, don’t blame it on someone else, but take responsibility. Say, “I’m in charge of this. I forgive myself for letting myself remain stuck and the other for doing whatever they did to me,” if that’s required. But I take responsibility 100% for the situation. 100% responsibility is the mantra. Forgiveness versus taking responsibility are two very important parts of this process.
Christine: With forgiveness, especially when you forgive other people, doesn’t mean you have to best friends with them. It doesn’t mean you have to be best friends with them. It doesn’t do anything to them if you hold the grudge. It does it to yourself. You’re only hurting yourself. It doesn’t mean you have to go out to dinner with them. If that happens, it happens, but the point is to move on. It’s not worth it.
Brandon: You don’t have to be best friends. You don’t even have to condone what they did. I was listening to a video from that Vishen Lakhiani that I’ve been following. He says, “When you forgive someone, it doesn’t mean they didn’t do wrong. They hurt you. They may have done the wrong thing.”
Christine: Of course.
Brandon: You don’t condone that, but you forgive because forgiving is the only way to cut that bond, move forward, and not draw it into your life anymore. That lack of forgiveness is keeping it in your life, and it’s going to keep manifesting. That’s why forgiveness frees you of that bond. That’s why I mention it here. I know it’s kind of random. I’ve just found lately it’s so important in all of this to do that.
Final words with all of this: take this process to heart, but the main thing to keep in mind is that balance of will versus flow. That trio that goes along with it is persistence, trust, and acceptance. It’s the same idea, but two different ways of expressing it.
Christine: The law of attraction trinity. [laughs]
What If It’s Not Working?
Brandon: [laughs] Keep that in mind. Keep that balance of will versus flow. When you feel like you’re stressing, then let go, trust, accept. Don’t push against it, but be persistent at the same time. Keep using that will. That’s the biggest thing to keep in mind. If you do that, you will get there. If you do that, I’ll guarantee you’ll get there. You can’t not get there. If you don’t get there, there are only 2 reasons for it. #1, you weren’t persistent. #2, you didn’t trust and accept or you weren’t in the flow. Those are the only 2 reasons. You can have difficulty getting there, but if you haven’t gotten there, it’s either because you weren’t persistent. You didn’t keep it up either because you weren’t committed enough or because you were too fearful to keep focusing on it. Or because you didn’t know how to let go of the resistance. You didn’t flow. You didn’t trust and accept. Those are the only 2 reasons you could not succeed, so make sure you do both of those. [laughs] Make sure you’re doing that. Make sure you’re being persistent and that you’re flowing and trusting and accepting. Those are both very important.
Again, the 4 levels—keep those in mind. Every day you should be focusing. You should be going through all 3 levels from the infinite possibilities matrix in level 1 all the way through “I choose this” and letting the energy expand, letting it go to the universe, opening up within yourself. I accept this. You can’t accept it until it’s totally let go, though. I’ve tried to skip trusting to see what would happen. You can’t because you’re still holding on to the energy. You have to let it go first. Go through those 3 levels every day, and the fourth level will take care of itself. You’ll know what actions to take, and the manifestation will just start to happen. Those are the two biggest parts of all of this: will and flow, and going through those four levels (especially the first three, which are in your control). Think I covered everything pretty well, Christine?
Christine: You did amazing.
Brandon: [laughs] You have to say that. You can’t clap for me. That’s not allowed.
Christine: Yes, I can.
Brandon: Seriously, if you have any questions, let me know in the Facebook group. We’ll discuss it. If you just want to know how to apply this stuff, I think that’s about the most I could possibly say about the law of attraction. If you get that, you will succeed. I know it’s pretty deep and pretty complicated a little bit.
Christine: Pretty complicated a little bit.
Brandon: It’s simple and yet complex. It’s this really weird balance of simplicity and complexity.
Christine: It is. You’re right.
Brandon: There’s a lot of moving parts, but it’s also very simple. If you have questions about it, let me know. You have unlimited access to this, so even if it’s a month or a year from now, let me know. But get this now, though. Don’t wait. You need to learn how to apply it.
Christine: You’re meant to have these goals now, people. Don’t wait for them.
Brandon: If you’re a year down the road and you’re like, “Hmm, I wonder how I can apply it to this new situation,” then just ask. That’s fine. I hope that helps everyone. I really hope you enjoyed this class. It was really enjoyable for me, even though it went double the time I expected. It was two classes instead of one, but I think it was needed.
Christine: Yes, it would have overwhelmed people too much.
Brandon: Hopefully you enjoyed this. We’ll see you around, so let us know if you have any questions. Otherwise anything is possible.
